      Me as the Slovak is always laughing about Polish and Hungarian brotherhood because Hungarian - Slovaks/Rusyns were that important connection between Poland and Hungary in history who Christianise nowadays Hungary(with Nitrian/Slovak lords Poznan and Hunt) in year 1000 supporting Stefan/Istvan I. who unite all principalities in kingdom of Hungary :D Do not mentioned that Slovaks/Polish brotherhood was that reason why Hungary was so powerful in history :D Like we are now members of Visegrad group from 15. century made between 3 Slavic kingdoms :D Bohemia/Hungary/Poland :DDD BTW Visegrad in Slovak language - centre of Hungary (Vise - Vysoky - High, grad/hrad- castle :D)

      Richi R since when Hungary is a Slavic kingdom? In 1335 the Hungarian king invited the king of Bohemia and Poland to create new commercial routes. It was just after the breakup of Czechoslovakia that Slovakia got to the Visegrád Triangle. Get your facts right.

    • @richir1946
      @richir1946 Před 6 lety

      Bekesi Klaudia Sure modern Visegrad pact were made as common integration to EU but this pact carry symbolism from past :) KoH was not 'is' :) And Slavic element was the most important there. Even all important figures in battle of Mohacs were Slavs: Bohemian/Czech Hungarian king, the most richest lord Zapolsky(slav) from Upper Hungary(Slovakia) and Croatian knights. Sure, relations are good now just saying you call for Slavic Poland brotherhood but Slavs who were behind that in Hungary were almost culturally exterminated in 19. century and that is what I am trying to say = Irony of history :D

    Hungary (Magyarország) is one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever stepped on! I’m Romanian and I love everything that is related to Hungarian culture, especially it’s gorgeous and unique language I enjoy so much hearing ❤️ Budapest and Szeged, the only two Hungarian cities I’ve been to impressed me a lot, so much, that I would come over and over again!!! I hope that Romania and Hungary will become tight allies and an eventual friendship would finally begin! Én nagyon szeretem Magyarországot és magyar nyelvet! 🇭🇺🤝🇷🇴 Magyar-román barátság!!❤️😍

      Gereee25 well... it was actually in Odorheiu Secuiesc (Székelyudvarhely) :)) I do know about this centuries long adversity, but you know... we’re in the the 21st century... Both Hungary and Romania are part of EU and NATO. We should start accepting ourselves more, leaving the past behind... I am 100% Romanian, I don’t have any Hungarian blood or foreign ancestors, only Romanians. So no one can say I support the idea of a friendship about these two countries because I’m Hungarian. I’m neither a Catholic Christian, I’m Orthodox. So..., if there are some people who really hate each other, let’s just leave them away and focus on our relationship and border cooperation. Can’t wait for Romania’s entrance in the Schengen Area and the Euro Zone!!!

      That's so nice they don't require students to take out huge loans like in America. If EU citizen, you have tons of freedom to live, work, and play without being a debt slave on minimum wages like in the excessively greedy capitalist American system. I can't get over how nearly everyone in the world wants to go to America to become a debt slave depending on cars for protection and absolutely necessary transportation in order to work and be a participant in a society without a real culture and identity. It's one alienating hollow shell amalgam of over 100 countries privately living their cultures behind closed doors instead of a united democracy with patriotic democratic values and principals.

And if you still don't believe me. Just take a look at the Transilvanian's (Romanian Hungarian's) hymn.
      Have a nice day :)

Even the local restaurant and grocery store employees were kind as I tried to speak Magyar. I will definitely be back to explore more of the country and culture. I saw such kindness and spirit for a country that has been divided, overtaken and vital for Cental Europe.

    Yes, I visited Budapest 2 months ago in April, 2019 and loved practicing my Hungarian ! ( I have a Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Hungarian, Japanese, and Russian keyboard. I am now switching to my Hungarian keyboard. ) Szeretnék visszajönni ha lehet !!! Magyarország, szeretlek ! ( translation : I would like to go back if possible. Hungary, I love you. ) By the way, I speak Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Swedish, Esperanto, and English better than Hungarian. ( Fordítás : Beszélek kinaiul, franciául, németül, svédül, eszperantó-ul, és angolul jobban mint magyarul . ) I used to speak Japanese better than Hungarian in 2007, but I forgot too much of it. It is the hardest language I ever studied at length because all verbs are at the end of the sentences like Korean !!! It will come back because my son is fluent in Japanese after getting 6 A's in a row in Japanese at U.C.Santa Cruz, living in Japan for 4 1/2 years, being married to a lady from Japan, working for a Japanese company, and presently going to a CHRISTian Japanese church in the U.S. !!!

    Aside from the culture. Hungarian is a great language if you can master it. I speak it fluently, as well as English, Japanese & Serb. And I've dabbled in others, though I'm not fluent in those. But, I've not found a _single_ language-other than Hungarian-in which I can swear so descriptively, efficiently, precisely & with such impact. It's incredibly satisfying! And, it doesn't matter if you'll never use it elsewhere or for any other purpose. Being able to curse so effectively & without necessarily having to resort to profanities- is therapeutic & good for the soul. I encourage everyone to try it. Meanwhile, God bless Magyarország, Poland, the Czech Republic & Slovakia!

    Alux, one small interesting fact is that Budapest is fast becoming one the major dental capital of Europe. I visit on average twice a year, for the last four years and currently save (depending on treatment) around 30% on UK prices, including flight and accommodation.

    • @TUBESPECIFIC1
      @TUBESPECIFIC1 Před 6 lety

      Interesting. Dental tourism is popular in Thailand. Those $30 front fillings I had are still holding up good after 9 years. We don't have affordable dental in the US where it's 20x what it costs in most other countries so the smart informed people taking their business elsewhere get an interesting experience on top of what it costs. Even developed countries like South Korea have far more affordable dentistry than the exorbitantly priced American dentists making for millions suffering in a misery of pain and bad health when we too have the resources to set it right. If the world becomes as ruthlessly capitalist as our America when it comes to dentistry, health care, and real estate being so crazy expensive, then humanity and the world is in deep shit.

    • @jeffreywilliams13
      @jeffreywilliams13 Před 6 lety

      I have had root treatment in Thailand and wish I could do all the time, but London to Budapest is one hour twenty minutes and less about £100 (U$160) return with 20kg luggage. London to Bangkok takes 12-14 hours depending on flights, the flight cost is from £500 and (U$800) upwards. If Thailand was much closer to the UK than Budapest then it would be a no brainer.

Our names are distinct, and so is our language. Both of these are preserved. In fact, the etymology of Hungarian language is the most preserved on earth. Our language keeps 68% of our original words and grammar. This is why you will always be able to tell our language apart.

    The 6th point is true, but it is an urban legend. This was proclaimed on that time (1849) by the vine producers, when the beer become most popular drink in mid class and the vine consume decreased.

    Fact: my Hungarian mother named me after Bogart's character in the movie, "Casablanca".
    The buildings of Budapest and those of the other large cities of the former kingdom are magnificent. They alone are worth seeing. You left out Hungarian pastries which are among the best in the world.
    I am a beach bum. Like DiCaprio's character in the movie, "The Beach", I am searching for the perfect beach. BTW, ironically, DiCaprio's character in that movie has the same name as me. I would go to Hungary if it had the perfect beach.

    What are the laws about adoption ? Cause my aunt wanted to adopt but they refused cause she wasn't European, more precisely white. She has an adopted daughter from Latvia and we never had a problem. Sad. The only bad thing I had in Hungary, the rest were amazing, really cool and beautiful country.
