      Hi you said it is a single-use tool, but then you said the tool will get plenty of use. Is it truly single-use, meaning you use it once and throw it away, because it is not good for a second use?

    $100 is absolutely worth it if you have to pull more than one root.
    I know its not the cheapest but the right tool for the right job saves so much time and headache in the long run.

    I have one and it works great! There's another version that works great on "clump" bushy stumps called "Brush Grubber BG-19 Heavy Duty Clump Grubber." It's basically a 3 chained lasso with teeth on the chains to bite. I couple those with the Apex 12,500 pound winch from Harbor Freight and plot clearing like you are doing becomes fun!

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  Před 2 lety +4

      That's awesome to hear. I have seen some negative reviews but a lot of it depends on what you can grip on and how big the plant is. I don't reallly see this ever breaking which makes the cost more bearable. I saw that chain one also, I need to buy one of those in the future.

  • @eosjoe565
    @eosjoe565 Před 2 lety +9

    That same company makes a pulling chain called a Shrub/Clump Grubber that has little cleats welded to each link and a ring that acts like a choker chain. You only have to wrap it around once or twice and it grabs hold and allows pulling out shrubs and such. It has a ring on the opposite end to allow you to attach a standard pulling chain to put more distance between you and the item being pulled. I have one and it works amazing. It would be a good compliment to your grabber jaw.

      Groundwater laws may govern whether ponds may be built, at least here in Colorado that’s the case. Even with water rights attached to our land, I learned it would be a time-consuming endeavor, not to mention an unknown amount in attorney fees for handling the process and representation before the state’s water board. Even so, anyone with an interest in the below-ground water source can object with the argument that it would interfere with the appropriation of his water rights downstream. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Goodbye, pond…

      Thank you I have 60 acres which might seem like a ton but neighbors around here have between 40-250 acres. Land is much less expensive here fortunately almost everything around me can't be developed so it should hopefully stay this way for a while.

      Yes, I was on it today. I wonder how many people have stood on it. 100 years ago this whole place was a pasture and they built miles of stone walls, hard to believe you could do a project that big all by hand. I will be showing a lot more of the place in the coming weeks. As much work as it needs, there are so many very unusual features and oddiities here I think you will enjoy seeing them as they are uncovered,

    This tool is NOT new. It was redesigned. I've used a tool very similar to this in the 80's. It was a clamp for pulling pallets off of trucks. Nice tool though. It's available from U-Line Products, around $150 bucks. Well worth It In my book!

    $100 ? That's good value. And remember that each time you use it then the cost per stump gets lower. You'd happily pay $10 per stump so after 10 stumps...

    $100 is a bargain if it works well. Hiring someone to remove small stumps is pricey, and if you dig it yourself you’ll be there all day. Easy to hurt your back pulling on small root balls as well.

    $100 bucks . . . AND a big agricultural tractor that can lift straight up and yank it back and forth and left and right.
