For the last time,we see the great master Vangelis at work. For we witness his genius, his skill, when he composes everlasting filmscores. We must never forget him.Rest in peace, great master!
Rest in peace bro
What I always loved about Vangelis, was watching other musicians in my father's studio aiming for the perfect sound, watching them experiment, fail, and discover new thoughts as they explored. It's about the journey, from scratch, experimentation and you feel it, once they found what they were striving for. Vangelis, was that genius and end journey that you hear in upcoming musicians. You know someone is special or discovered something when it speaks to you. 1492 Paradise was my choice in that regard. Be a while before we hear another like him.
One of the most powerful instrumental collections it has ever been my privilege to listen to. The synths, were taken to the limits by the artist. Still amazing to this day, IMHO.
What a legend! His movie compositions are so deep, and the new age vibe is so unique that I can never forget them. For me, some of the most remarkable compositions are Abraham's Theme, Rêve and Conquest of Paradise (that one used to be played at every graduation during the 90s and early 2000s in Brazil). RIP
With the passing of Vangelis there will forever be an unfillable void in music. Rest in peace, Evangelios Papathanassiou. You elevated my soul to heights I never knew existed.
Bandas sonoras que puedes escuchar con la película o sin ella.. Para mi el mejor compositor de musica que he tenido la suerte de compartir su época. Gracias por tu musica Maestro espero conocerte en la otra vida
Superb!!. And I ask myself: Who will be the next Music Composer for New Films?. Only H.Zimmer could come close to the Master: Vangelis. I will never forget him. 👍
Amazing stuff. The Chariots of Fire sound track blows me away every time I hear it. Pure genius. Does anyone know anything about the row of sound modules above his main keyboard?
It's his custom MIDI setup, probably the biggest MIDI setup in the world. For many pics of it and infos, visit the facebook group "Vangelis Papathanassiou - Group of fans of his music" and search "MIDI setup".
4:15 Vangelis- "I can't play 'di di di di di', I need Mr. bean to do it!" Rowan Atkinson during the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony: czcams.com/video/CwzjlmBLfrQ/video.html I wonder if this segment was shot before 2012...
What was the last few seconds tune Vangelis was playing in this video during when the credits faded? It sounded very Joe Hisaishi from a Studio Ghibli score. Maybe Joe borrowed from Vangelis?
It's not a "keyboard", it's a whole custom MIDI system with various synths connected on it. Check the Facebook link below to see many pics from this unique MIDI/synth setup. rb.gy/4rbyj

Isn't it wonderful to see one of the so called "greats" of Electronic music, sit down and just bash out some amazing music live. Above all, Vangelis had great musicianship and great taste in sound. And I imagine if he ever had the inclination to take his music on tour, he would have played it as live as possible. And electronic musicians who don't play live irk me
Isn’t it so nice that CZcams degrades older professional videos, so as to make room for all the stupid narcissistic videos that people create now a days?
Wendy Carlos forever! Vangelis was a hack by comparison. I really hated the “New Age” music era. Musical Valium. Carlos did Clockwork Orange and Tron long before. 🙄 He should have laid off the Baklava. He got fat as Johannes Brahms! 😂
Rest in peace. The world is a much smaller place without Vangelis.
The man is a legend, a brilliant musician! Your music will always live in my heart.
Too soon....
Could not agree more. The world is so much poorer without Vangelis. 😢

We have lost the Mozart of our time - R.I.P. Maestro!
real
I always have to write this every time I watch a video about this genius: "The greatest musician the world have ever had"
you can just see them in the background, smiling in delight.
what a master of the keys. RIP Vangelis

By everyone who loves Vangelis and his music that is one way to keep him alive in our hearts!!
This very true and shall continue to!
Vangelis was so talented. I can't imagine anyone would disagree.
RIP Vangelis. What a great composer, and music gear guy. His studio setup is AMAZING.
A Big Heart , With Life in Sound , a Gift from Heavan, Amazing !
The Bounty score was great.
Blade Runner remains the most wonderful movie soundtrack I've ever heard .....
The way those two old chaps live the music in the background. I wouldn't imagine myself any other way!
R.I.P. Evangelos
Rip no one can replace you. An unfillable hole is what we're left without you. Yes genius in the music world that has gone dark today.

It's hard to say that we couldn't see him again....... Everyday i cannot realize it😭😭😭
RIP Vangelis. Now flying between the stars forever.
A True Master of the Art
What a genius.
Their reaction at 09:34…. Priceless!!!!!!!
We were visited and touched by a gentle giant of a Greek God who left us a rich legacy
RIP 🕊🕊

Maestro, la tua musica è patrimonio dell'umanità.... 😎🤙❤️
Vangelis??? The Best!!!
Yamaha CS-80. 1970's analogue. The sound of Vangelis. Not the digital machines that came after like the M1.
RIP

I always admired how Vangelis recorded most of his compositions live in the studio.
Che perdita immensa!!!

6:48 If only they had listened! Now we’re living in a dystopian hellscape devoid of creativity and it’s all because of the Korg M1!
Superb!!. And I ask myself: Who will be the next Music Composer for New Films?. Only H.Zimmer could come close to the Master: Vangelis. I will never forget him. 👍
Im really annoyed at the commercial break at the end interrupting Vangelis playing.... unforgivable
3:43 instant joy :)
04:17 hahaha awesome
Had i watched this before the 2012 Olympics, I would have laughed even harder
Vangelis Immenso gigante della musica❤❤❤ 🎶
Incredible report!
"i need Mr Bean to do it....."...
Watched Mr Bean Olympic opening scene with Mr Bean playing the single note 😂

Rowan Atkinson during the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony: czcams.com/video/CwzjlmBLfrQ/video.html
I wonder if this segment was shot before 2012...
It was shot after the olympics. Vangelis is clearly referring to the opening ceremony of the olympics. He had a good sense of humor
@@hogne I didn't know that! He sure does
He used the Lexicon 224 digital reverb as an instrument in itself creating a unique sound.
I use mine all the time its a great reverb!

There is only one hope for humanity - the synthesizer.

That comment about Mr. Bean 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Vangelis marco mi vida con su música, me hizo ver la naturaleza y el universo de otra manera...
My favorite 7" single is Carros de Fuego
Strikes me that ”Thief” was also released 1981…
what was the name of this programme, will try and look for it, thanks.

This man is incredible. There's no one who makes music like him now. He made his own keyboards! wtf
What was the last few seconds tune Vangelis was playing in this video during when the credits faded? It sounded very Joe Hisaishi from a Studio Ghibli score. Maybe Joe borrowed from Vangelis?
He just plays variations of Blade Runner and Chariots Of Fire themes.
WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSE MODULES HE GOT IN THE BACKGROUND?? HE GOT A BUNCH OF THEM.
Dude calm down

What year was this made?
As far as i remember, It came out from BBC in 2013.
:(
Much too short
M1? hahhaha no, those were seriously not up to the task of full audio quality sounds. Fairlight. Try that one.

If you think Vangelis was a hack, and is strictly labeled ‘new age’ you obviously don’t know much of his work.
Collab bro?
