Essentially, following the Golden Temple Massacre, Indira Gandhi told those in her circle that she would surely die by the hands of Sikhs, as they still celebrate the assassinations of those who attacked the Golden Temple hundreds of years ago. Sidhu's parents allege that they have been facing immense pressure from the Indian government to not release this song. Thus, the release of this song in and of itself is an act of defiance and protest. The whole story is that it begins with the dispute over the water of Punjab( by water of punjab means that “rivers”, from which punjab name came, mns five rivers punj means five, aab means water, these river come from himachal state so according to international water riparian laws after the full usage of water by first state rest of the extra water would belong to next state, accordingly PUNJAB, since govt want to loot the resources, they constructed dams and new canals from there they diverted the water illegally to other states before reaching to punjab, consequently, punjab is leading towards desertification and other states which used to be desert are niw flourishing with the water of punjab… here when the actual story begins… then in 1984 Punjabis(sikhs) started opposing it and started agitation in which hundreds of thousands people were assassinated by government( even to the extent that wherever they see a turban, they took them to the fields and slaughtered them in different ways. By all doing this they said forget all about this and start a new life…

@@shaileshkumar6237 I’m not disagreeing with your point, water resources should be shared but as punjab contributes 10% in Indian agriculture secrot which is huge and due to its location it is not suitable for growing paddy which we are doing and its required excessive amount of water not like costal humid areas so we have to be dependent on aquifers which in not replenishing-as fast we withdraw water. So we need extra water

SYL issue, One of the world’s bitter conflicts for Water occured in Punjab. The SYL Canal is a 214 km long Canal that connects Punjab’s Satluj river to the Yamuna River. When Haryana was broken away from Punjab in 1966, the SYL was proposed to share Punjab’s water.
In 1966, Punjab was trifurcated to create Haryana and a larger Himachal. Both Chandigarh and the Bhakra Dam were taken away and put under the control of the Central Government. An agitation began to protect the language and rights of Punjab. On 8 April 1982, Indira Gandhi formally launched the construction of the SYL Canal at Kapoori Village in Patiala. Punjab was against sharing further water with neighbouring state Haryana as Punjab was already diverting 75% of its allocated water. The decision was deemed unconstitutional and against the international riparian laws.
Along with construction of SYL, protests began in 1982. Resistance started from Kapoori village where Indira Gandhi laid the foundation stone of SYL. The movement, officially lead by Shiromani Akali Dal, was later called the Dharam Yudh Morcha,(unofficially lead by sant Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale with a huge base of followers). It also included many other issues of Sikh nation and Punjab. Due to stubbornness of Indian State, Dharam Yudh Morcha led to Ghallughara of June 1984 and Sikh Genocide in different parts of country.
In July 1985, Rajiv Gandhi and the then Akali Dal Chief, Harchand Longowal signed an accord for a new tribunal to assess the water. After many attempts the central government continued to undermine the rights of Punjabis and push the construction of the SYL Canal. A large part of it was built, costing over Rs 750 crore. After many protests the people of Punjab began resisting and stopping the construction. In 1990 Bhai Balwinder Singh Jattana stopped SYL by assassinating chief engineers.
In 2004, following orders by the top court, the Central Public Works Department was appointed to take over the canal work from the Punjab government. However, the state continued to remain defiant. The Punjab Legislative Assembly passed the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act of 2004, which abrogated all its river water agreements with neighbouring states. Then-President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam referred this Bill to the Supreme Court to decide on its legality in the same year, reports The Quint.
In February 2017, the SC stuck to its earlier verdict
that the construction of the SYL has to be executed
and asked Haryana and Punjab to maintain law and order “at any cost”.
In 2002, the Supreme Court (SC) directed Punjab to continue work on the SYL and complete it within a year. The state refused to oblige; instead, it petitioned for a review of the SC order, which was rejected.
Talks have again started about restarting the SYL Canal project, the current CM of Punjab, Bhagwant Maan is silent on the issue and the leader of his Party (AAP), Arvind Kejriwal has explicitly said in interviews that Delhi has a right over Punjab’s waters. Over the years no political party that has come to power has supported the notion that Punjab should have full control over its natural resources. Punjab will begin becoming a desert by 2029, experts say. The state has already over-exploited its groundwater for irrigation purposes.

Haryana region was joined with erstwhile punjab for just a temporary period of around 108 years by Britishers. Colloquially the name Haryana existed ever before since for this region but it was not on official documents. Precisely on 13 April 1858 Haryana region was joined with Punjab province in British India. Before that Haryana region used to be governed under the Delhi division of North West Provinces state. But due to the 1857 revolt the situation became out of control here and the British were facing difficulty while governing as many places became crucial centres for anti-british uprising such as Ambala, Hansi, Hisar, Sirsa, Narnaul, Rohtak, Ballabhgarh etc. Therefore as punishment they transferred this Haryana region to erstwhile punjab province on 13 April 1858 for better administration and control. After country's independence then it again separated in the year 1966. This was due to the ongoing punjabi suba movement led by the akalis of punjab and they wanted to carve out a separate "sikh" state so they excluded the Haryana region as this was having sikhs as minority and formed a new state punjab out of the post independence state of East Punjab.

I just wanted to let you guys know that there are a few mistakes that the creator made. One of them is that the Sikhs that are in prison aren’t only there because they were protesting against the SYL. Some of the Sikhs like jagtar singh Hawara and balwant singh rajoana are in jail because they killed the CM of panjab(Beant Singh), the CM ordered the killings of many innocents Sikhs. Hawara and Rajoana were involved in the murder of that CM. They served their sentences but despite that the Indian government won’t release them. There are many more stories like that. I also wanted to let you know that the Sikhs and/or panjab is being oppressed by the Indian government and the water issue is one of the many problems we are facing. If you are interested, then I would gladly like to inform you about those issues.

Basically, SYL means Satluj Yamuna link canal was planned to built in order to distribute water of Punjab's rivers to its neighbouring states. Punjab have had 17.17 million acre-foot of water but if SYL come into existence punjab will be left with just 0.65 or less million acre-foot of water total water causing threat to agriculture in Punjab. Possible Punjab will convert into a desert neither the land nor the people will get water leading to ultimate death of Punjabi due to water scarcity.
Sidhu moosewala is urging government to give Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal back to Punjab that we will solve everything on our own we need no interference of government because they are just creating hatred among us. Moreover, in accordance to Indian Constitution central government have nothing to do with such matters of state this is what state government needs to decide not central government and its water of punjab and punjab have its own right to decide what to do with it and what not. Punjab always come forward to help other states but when it comes to its own rights why do others step back??
SYL was main reason of Sikh genocides which took place in 1984. Number of Sikhs were killed. They were burnt alive by putting tyres in their necks. Women were raped and not even children were left. They continued to torture Sikhs why?? Because they tried to raise their voice against injustice done to Punjab and that's why SYL was stopped and Bhai Balwinder Singh Jatana assassinated them. 1984 Unanswered questions for Indians
1. Why Indra Khan Gadhi never criticized Saint Bhindranwala till he was dead?
2. Why was there no arrest orders/warrant issued against Saint Bhindrawala, by any court in India against him in 1984, even before 06/06/1984?
During Dec 1983 a senior officer in Chandigarh confessed: "It's really shocking that we have so little against him while we keep blaming him for all sorts of things. You certainly cannot assault the temple on the basis of just these charges, get hundreds of people killed and get away with it."
On 31 Dec 1983 in an interview to India today Saint Ji said "Let them come with the warrant and then I will give my reply".
3. Why is the demand of Khals-sthan, associated with Saint Bhindrawala? There ws never a demand 4 Khals-sthan , until Sarbat Khalsa 1986. Sant Bindrawala never demanded Khals-sthan, his own words as per Indian Govts own minister Subramanian Swamy “ Bhindrawala did not demand Khals-sthan, but said he won’t reject it (Khals-sthan) if anybody gifts it to them.”
4. Why did Indira Gadhi refused DC of Amritsar Mr. Gurdev Singh Brar’s request to avoid bloodshed that he will go inside with an arrest warrant in the golden temple and will come out with Saint Bhindranwala, the reason why they refuse to do so? **BEST Shining Example of So called Greatest democracy of world, GUARANTEE to blow off your mind : 1991 state election At constituency Joga in Mansa, Punjab total registered voters were 100,111, out of which only 1,072 people voted about measly 1.1 % voting. Winning candidate Surjan Singh got 394 votes. So now a person with 394 (0.39%) votes out of 100,111 was ruling on (99.6%). Better to have communist dictatorship government, instead of a fake and controlled democracy.

Pandey made many such revelations in his book "In the service of FREE India memoir of a civil servant" and he got published(2014) this book only after his death (2009)because he knew when the truth will come out, Govt won't leave him alive.
25.Who ordered Illegal and unconstitutional Bluestar Genocide? The cabinet secretariat, home and defence ministers say they have no record whether the military action at the Golden Temple complex in 1984 was decided orally or by a written word. More than 30 years on, Bluestar Genocide remains a controversial and thorn in feet of the Govt, as it was ordered without following any constitutional and bureaucratic chain, process or command. Mark it as ONLY operation illegally sanctioned with personal vendetta as fact in the history of India.
