People troll or don't know anything about TV music performances: most shows obviously use playback because it's much cheaper (according to tv execs) than having performers play 'live' and broadcast it as such. Anyway, you put on a great show and the music rocks too, obviously! (Fireworks on a TV set?! How cool is that?! =v )
The rumor I heard was about Henri filling in on a demo and it does in fact sound a LOT like Jonnny's "signature sound" if it is him!...... anyway, thank you for this upload- any Thunders videos, audio, etc. is always appreciated by true fans :) Please ignore the people who come in here to just spread ill manner and speak in vain for no reason! I am very happy to see your uploads, and hope you continue to share stuff with the general public! I’m from Ireland 30 now and unfortunately I don’t know anyone that knows the dolls or the heartbreakers they’re missing out. I love the sex pistols, my dad bought me a live pistols album when I was about 11 and it blew me away. BUT I don’t think there would be pistols without dolls. Malcolm Mclaren stole some guitars off the dolls when he stopped managing them and you can see Steve Jones playing a white les Paul with a pin up girl sticker on it. That was Sylvian sylvains guitar he used live for jetboy

watching it again 3 years after, realizing the mic was on also..so we hear his live voice too...anyways, blah blah blah this is great! Thanks for posting
He was a big influence on me when I was 19 years old so I started my own band (THE THE) when I was 20 & we ended up opening for him & his band GANGWAR @ THE UK CLUB, NYC in 1979. His amp went down in the sound check so I volunteered my 1963 FENDER CONCERT AMP & he blew that one up as well, smoke & everything! The knobs only went up to 10 & that wasn't enough I guess! Check out this video: czcams.com/video/dldNpUbs8zo/video.html
I saw him at Irving Plaza in 1985 with this band. It was a great show. I remember Michael Monroe came out. Great times. JT was one of a kind. What a great band!

Thanks for sharing........would love to find this, sans the credits crawl......some dumbass saw fit to run them over this killer performance......sadly.
I was just another high-school kid in the 1970s who grew up worshipping at the alter. I only got to see Johnny Thunders once in the late 1980s. Inger Lorre and the Nymphs and the Hangmen opened for him at the Coconut Teaser. He looked a little out of it and like he couldn’t wait for the show to be over, as if he had something waiting. He only played for an hour, but it was still one of the finest hours I’ve witnessed in rock and roll. Just a natural super talented rock and roll star.
I saw JT at the limelight in the late eighties 88 ?? Possibly.? Yo he was on that night jamming at the edge of the stage sharp. Admittedly I was n the throes of my own junkie business. I am close with a close friend who he confided concerning his illness. He was aware of his circumstances without a doubt. Even now in my near mid fifties he"s still the standard as Jerry Nolan said there was so many Johnny clones out there he never received his proper due. Never his sound . Too much Too soon was handed down to me from my older sister ..
@maltbeaver I personally think the raw sound and production of lamf was great. Just like the les paul jr with a single p90 it was loud dirty and bare bones. But that's just my opinion of course
Yes, I found that out going down the comments on this page, Henri Paul commented on this video. I clicked on his thumb nail picture and he has a video of himself hanging out in the living room with his Mom, it's odd. I checked out his plat list too. Maybe I'll try communicating with him some day. I recently learned about Johnny and find him kind of fascinating. I like his guitar playing, it's great rock, and I'm not sure what it is, maybe he's economical in his style, not burying the listener in guitar, interjecting with it. He's very good and that Henri Paul guy is a cool stage presence too. Rock and Roll!

The question is do drugs elevate the artist or sink them? Who knows.
You can take that two ways.
Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend were the top song writers in their day. Drugs and alcohol were the norm?
For the first few years it elevates them. Then the last few years of a decade the drugs start to sink you about 5 or 6 years into it the downfall starts slow then the last few years it gets hectic.
