This little czcams.com/users/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.

I know it’s really late, but I’m just now finding this video and felt the same way. Good news is I found a lady who laid it all out. Here’s the link yankeehomestead.com/how-to-refinish-a-vintage-claw-foot-tub/. Hope this helps

I used to own an 1876 tub that I slept in. It was pretty rusty. I kept all my tools in it, which made it hard to sleep, I always thought such a tub would make a great koi pond, except for one thing, the damn thing already weighed around 800 lbs. So I figured if you filled it up with water and added fish it might sink through the floor what do you think?

IMHO- PLEASE don't do that to an 1876 tub. Rust can be removed and koi get big. If nothing else give it to someone doing a vintage house restoration.

This video is nicely produced, but without telling us what products are used to do each step, it's close to a complete waste of time.

What was the black liquid you used to clean the inside of the tub?

It's hydrocloric acid, layed for 15 minutes and removed with water. The person in the video is going to paint the entire tub with epoxy paint. Not sure if I agree, will keep looking at videos before I decide on a method.

In the realm of professional service, one doesn't skip steps because they are difficult. Taking the time to say what you are doing in this video may have taken the steps in figuring out how to edit a video... but you should have demanded that from yourself instead of waste peoples time seeing what we can see on other videos where people included the list of treatments and products they are using.
