@mikesgtrs1 Usually, it's not possible to change where they appear while you are in the bonus game. So what you do is that you just check where the next banana will appear and then you try to get there as soon as you can. Sometimes the manipulation you get is really bad, which means you'll either have to delay going into the bonus or seven delay to enter the stage, in order to get a better manipulation.
When you play on the hardest difficulty (By writing in the TUFST cheat code at the beginning), all (With a few exceptions) DK barrels on the level are removed, as well as the midway barrels. Instead you start with both monkeys at the beginning of each level.
@HubbaBubba9849 the raw for the standard size encode you see here was 14.5 GB. I dont have the room on my HDD for a HD encode. Nothing stopping you encoding it yourself if you really want one in HD :-p
Pretty much. The main tools you use are Frame Advance and Save States. Frame Advance lets you record an input for every frame in the run. This game runs in 60 frames/second. Save States are used to fix erorrs and such you make, which is also how we knew where to be for the green bananas. You just play forward to see there they'll spawn, load the save state and run get to that point.
If you mean the kong following Dixie throughout the game, that's Kiddy Kong. Lankey Kong only appeared in Donkey Kong 64 but he did make some cameos in the Gameboy Advance version of this game.
@pixcalibur123 1) I didn't TAS this game, I'm just the guy who encoded the run. 2) the run is 1h 41mins, or 101 minutes 3) it took over 2 days to encode from start to finish, DKC games are codec intensive

I agree with you I love all three DKC games the problem with number 3 was the Engine was really starting to show it's age it's music was still amazing but it wasn't as memorable as the first two but i still listen to it to this ever day and third of all this came out about 8 months before n64 which really made things worse for the game but in all honesty I still play all DKC games to this very day %^&* modern conventions like halo and cod these games are amazing :)

no, it's actually an in game cheat for hard mode, this means, it removes all the checkpoints and many DK barrels. In compensation, it gives you a nice 105% in your save file when you finish the game.
and, uh please, you guys that know what TAS is: don't be mean, try to explain and be nice, there's a lot of people that don't know what it is or what is possible. Try to explain and show to people how cool it is and not be just mean. No one was born knowing what TAS is and we are all people we need to learn and expand our knowledge instead of saying "salt" or " stupid" cmon let's be a better community.
It would be funny if the KONG-letters were required for 100%, because there is no G in Rocket Rush (starting at 1:31:00) for this version of the game :D.

How are you getting Dixie back at the end of the levels when you take hits? Is there like some glitch that lets you keep them with you if you finish fast enough or something?
I think I might know even not fully knowing it. It goes like this? Allowed to use resources as a tool to aid you through the levels? I think it goes like that.

Skipping that elephant in Murky Mill surprised me. Then again, it's a TAS. I also enjoyed the boss fights!

That Krevice Kreepers run is so pretty.

@donkeydnd Because of a bug with the sprites. When there are two many sprites on the screen, one sprite can take the color from a different sprite.

I think DK2's was more epic, and DK3's was more trippy. Of the trilogy, however, DK2 wins the "most songs I could whistle on a whim" award.

@advancedpillow The music was composed by someone else. This game has a few awesome tracks but I agree that DKC2 takes the cake on the music front.

I don't think my controller (or even my fingers) can physically register commands fast enough to pull this off.
