It was one day before Chinese New Year's Eve, a major travel day for people planning to return home for the holidays. I'm an Italian leaving in Wuhan. I never left (even when the embassy provided a flight to go back to Italy, when Italy was safe). I did stay with my boyfriend and his parents for the whole lockdown, more than 50 days. We couldn't go out, not even to buy groceries. I'm so proud to live in this amazing city and Wuhan people are so strong!

I am a Japanese Australian expatriate living in Shanghai and on the second day of the Chinese New Year when the pandemic is at its worst, I was trekking in nepal and I immediately bought a ticket and flew back to Shanghai to be with the chinese people and never left since, china have given me the most generous support and love and I want to thank the people of china and to be with them and support them while the pandemic is at its worst. I have shed many tears with the chinese while I was being quarantined in Shanghai, even today I still shed tears but tears of happiness that the whole nation have stay together and fight the pandemic and to be what they are today . what really impressed me about china is despite the blame, the attacks and media propaganda, the chinese government are willing to put all these aside and help other nations even India with vaccines and medical aid, this is what I called humanity over politics, salute to the people of china and thank you and jiayou !

Why try to downplay it? They dealt covid rapidly, all the while in other parts of the world we can't even get the consent of financial and land owners to begin.

These are the real hero’s. The people who should be paid so much more.
It's very common for Chinese doctors to work 12+ hours per day. If you work on the front-line as medical personnel, you are given 300 yuan/day, on top of your wage. Plus 10 bonus marks to their kids in Gaokao ( tests for entering universities) If you are infected, you are given 140,000 yuan and a guaranteed bed in a decent hospital. I know it's not enough, but the government is doing something to back them up.

我现在在英国，这里的人也都不知道中国已经抗疫成功了，因为这里的媒体从来不报道中国正面的新闻，只报道断章取义的负面报道，和捏造的虚假新闻。很多英国人现在认为封锁没有用，他们的理由是英国已经封锁了几个月了，一放开不是又爆发了吗？他们不知道还有中国这一条路，最严厉的封锁排查后换来真正的恢复正常。英国现在封锁措施是，学校不停课，成人不停工，商店正常营业，酒吧可以开到晚上十点。关键是，不允许十一二岁以下的学生和他们的老师在学校戴口罩！去上班的不要求在工作场所戴口罩！酒吧就更别提了。这算什么封锁？这种封锁控制的住病毒才怪呢！控制不住就说，“你看，封锁也没用，封锁了感染认输也是在疯涨，那就不要封锁了”。
病毒追踪系统一团糟，测试不够用，政府要求只能有了症状才去测，而且把老师和儿童的测试优先级别放在了最低！测了的人现在要等几天才拿到结果，还别提九月底的一周就有16000个阳性测试结果被“漏掉”了，更别提追踪他们的密切接触者了。我在九月中旬做了测试，我的测试结果到现在也没拿到！具测试部门的客服跟我说他们弄丢了一批检测，估计我也是被弄丢的其中一个。😓

I am lying on my bed in Wuhan. I have not left my community for two month. There is no more new patient for 2 days. Normal life is coming back. Don’t be anxious and afraid, staying at home is the best way to protect yourself.

No government is perfect but no one can deny the tremendous courage of the people working at the front lines. So inspiring. As a westerner I have to admit that few of my fellow citizens in the west would have anywhere near the discipline and willingness to sacrifice like so many in China have. Its also something few here would admit or even realize. The people in China are a testament to the world in how to battle a problem thinking far more of others than themselves. Please pray for these people and their enormous inner strength and fortitude. And for the government in handling such an incredibly difficult problem involving a sizable amount of the world's population.

NOBBERT I agree that Chinas political system is certainly not something to envy, however the speed in which they have appeared to contain the virus in their own country by forced lockdown and state wide quarantine is a step in the right direction, but I’m not going so far to applaud them.
I watched another video where the authorities were welding people’s doors shut in Wuhan & I still think they were doing the right thing! I am no fan of Communism but look at how the UK is handling the Coroanvirus (their saying let’s get heard immunity)...

I remember watching this in like February/early March before it hit Japan majorly, and it made me realize how serious it was. Like I thought it was crazy. I’m watching it now in January 2021, about a year since it started, and now I’ve gone through the same thing and just... it feels so weird. This documentary is almost like nostalgia of before it got serious.
