Neat fork lift!! The reason it was hard going into gear is since it was military you forgot to salute it first. That little Perkins fired right up

The manufacturer installed a fuel hose that is to short, don't make sense to that. That was giving you a hard time Wiley, attaching that hose, but it sure runs great. 300 hours on it, nice looking fork lift Wiley.

    • @DontbeWily
      @DontbeWily  Před 4 dny +1

I wouldn’t say to short but they did not leave any extra for sure 😂

great video Wiley , you'll get lots of good use out of that Lift King, they are good machines, i use to work for a friend in the lift truck industry, the local railway company bought a fleet of them and we had the maintenance contract for them and the most we ever did was routine maintenance, maybe a starter, alternator or batteries that was it Perkins engines has always been good for all the years I have been around them since the late 70's. nice buy its in fantastic shape 👍

Thanks for another great video Wiley and friends.
It was interesting and enjoyable to watch.
That is a big bomb loading fork lift used on the flight line. That name tag says the navy used it.
These are big heavy duty machines. I would think it has not many hours.
Would think most of the things on it work ok.
Depending on the price probably a good deal. I have bought many items on government sales.
Let us know how it comes out Wiley.
Looks to be a good deal.
    Take care Wiley.

Hello Wily. I wish that I could help you out with those numbers that were on the lift but unfortunately I cannot.
As far as I remember back in the late 1980s to early 1990s until around 2020,,I don’t remember ever seeing any of those machines within our fleet of equipment here in KY. Most of the lifting was performed by forklifts fueled by propane or battery powered and our front end loaders were equipped with the quick detachable bucket,,forks or a boom pole. The only diesel forklifts that I had any knowledge of would have been in Frankfort,Ky at the salvage facility and lot where all of the surplus state equipment was stored until it was auctioned off usually in the fall each year.
One thing to keep in mind regarding some of the government equipment is that on like air compressors and other equipment with the diesel engines that there was a momentary switch that you had to depress when starting the engine until the oil pressure warning light went out. Im not sure what agency that lift was from, But our surplus equipment was never drained like that and with an appointment could be inspected before our equipment auction. Every agency and entity has different rules and procedures with no two being alike. Hope your eyes feel much better, Wily.

Wily the government always buys the best or makes things built to their specs. With our tax dollars. Then they sell the stuff at a loss just to spend more money. That Genset I bought costs us tax payers $15,000 and it only had 275 hrs on it when I got it.

    • @jayjones6904

When you pour out of five gallon bucket spout at top is easier and it doesn't gulp air like when spout is on bottom less messy u can control flow better

What Jay said. I probably could have turned the pouring spout to bottom on the first oil i poured since it was a gallon or so left and it would not have gulp for air
