The most surprising part for me was that there were no missing collisions out of map at all, shit, in most games character would just fall under the map
I feel like it's not a good thing. Like it's just bad optimisation. Then again, the game runs good and doesn't take that much storage so I guess it's fine
@@elio6361 these areas won't load unless you get close enough, so they won't really affect performance. Even with unreasonably high render distance, it won't load with full quality from far away, and the game probably takes care not to render areas you aren't looking at
And removing collisions out of bounds is actually wise thing to do. Theres no need to keep it in memory. Also landscape collision is fairly complex. Not great that they kept it.
@@guilhermebranco8572 It wont be calculated since its gonna be cut in broad phase of collision pass (basically checks if something is interacting in that area and if not its not calculated). It's usually still loaded in the memory tho. Not a deal breaker but people thinking It's a "detail" is funny tho.
The amount of small detalis they have on the inn bounds map takes alot of work. I can forgive them for not filling in every inch of the map when there is genuinely no need.
I've been to that place every time I have played through the game, but I've always followed different routes (using the same mod you mention), partly to explore, but mostly because I keep on forgetting what I did on previous playthroughs ---- your route is a lot easier to remember. Thanks!
Imagine finding this by accident without actually knowing it's there. Only reason this was ever found was because of the freecamera mod, when they looked up to the mountains with it. Route was found only later. I also wonder how many years it might have taken for players to find it without the freecamera mode, if ever - which would have resulted in no one still knowing about it, which is quite interesting to think about! But yeah, it's quite interesting Easter Egg!
I got there on Xbox a few years ago, from the fairytale land. If you get unicorn roach to stand next to the shimmering wall that surrounds it then cast quen and immediately jump on, roach will take you through the wall. It's a long journey to the top of Mount Gorgon though. 👍
@@KABBARANKS I did it also that way long ago, but when I tried in the Next Gen edition I did not manage to get out of map that way, no matter how hard I tried. If I remember correctly they sadly prevented this by fixing the glitch.
I just found something interesting… Near the house of respite and kimbolt way (near the Nifgaardian camp, there’s a guarded treasure. There’s a stone circle. If you check the stones, you can see maybe a seagull , maybe a dog, a kraken, a swallow and a horse. The treasure is in the centre of the circle. There’s a dead nifgaardian soldier and an earth elemental. Why is there those references to Ciri? Was the soldier trying to steal the treasure or it was some kind of human sacrifice? 🤔
Map without models is procedurally generated in houdini, it takes literally seconds to make it bigger, so yeah its not weird that they used huge landscapes as a background.
Jeezus... a dev group picture put out THAT far out of bounds? You'd have to end up looking literally EVERYWHERE to find that... that's like DAYS worth of exploring remote, unused map space.
Some players were absolutely bored out of their mind to find this.
I think they found it in the source code and later developed in-game path there
UPD: in other comment they claim it was found using free camera mode

So they added all that out of bounds but cut of most of the map edge even when there loads of space on the map.
Yeah, Haha! I was surprised too
they won't accomplish much if they just give us large empty space

I feel so proud, that I found this organically on my own.
is that so?
@@TribunalSlayer yes?
@@tvojejidlo8143 that is awesome. I've never found anything like that in any game 👍🏻
@@TribunalSlayer Thats what happens when Im bored and just find myself climbing random mountains :D

Me neither! Haha
Seeing Geralt climb the mountain reminded me of Journey.
My thoughts exactly.

You just done what old gamer found it.
Many people know about this but, to be able to do that you must enable console-command to the game

This is some kind of high hrothgar pilgrimage !
i got out there without using mods, on xbox series x. you can break the map in the fantasy world, near the end of the main quest for the dlc
Thanks, I'll try that too!

They use those all the time in the game so they don't have to make new ones.
incredible !
I did this on Xbox years ago. Cool easter egg. 👍
How did someone ever find that location?
How incredibly amazing! They placed it in a location where only true fans of the game would reach!
or noclip fans 😅
Talk about finding a silver needle in an ocean of steel needles

This is how Geralt rides Roach when he's sure no one's around to see.
The game is fixed XD

How do you even find something like this!?
By Just Roaming 😁
Using the tried and true method of fuk around and find out.
hello my friend, what mode did you use for the video ?
"No Border Mod"
I lost it at 2:31 😂
😂😂
no way this is the whole developers!
Maybe only those who worked on the second DLC. That team could be much smaller than everyone who worked on the Witcher 3.
It might be just the devs or something like that
You can´t go there without a trick to leave the map, usually a mod.
That's why I used "No Border Mod" to make this video.
Wieśek dotarł na krańec świata
😍😍😍😍
this is so cool
How do you reach that point? It just opens the map and ports me back at a certain point.
I used "No Border Mod" to get out of the map.
CDPR has created a humongous map and selected only few areas as active, Is the map is very huge as RDR2?
It Could be but RDR2 Map is fully rendered but at this place in Witcher 3, many parts of the map are not rendered yet.
Map without models is procedurally generated in houdini, it takes literally seconds to make it bigger, so yeah its not weird that they used huge landscapes as a background.
This game is 11/10
For me it's - ∞/10
Wow
😉
You did not try to IGNI it in the end :(
I forgot ☹️
They actually thought of what?
Thats gotta be joke, right?
Don't know! Haha

such waste of big empty map
The vast map of The Witcher 3 can indeed feel empty at times, but it’s also full of hidden gems and secrets waiting to be discovered.
what a waste, all that beautiful land and you cant explore it or quest! i cant wait for the mods to come out to fill this land with adventures
It's that fake?
its fake...
