- (They did not die. They were thrown out of the car and survived!) Mit mehr als 300 Sachen rast der Fahrer des Lamborghini Huracan am 5. September 2014 über die ungarische Autobahn M7. Seine Beifahrerin filmt mit ihrem Handy die rasante Fahrt. Nervenkitzel pur scheint es, oder was kann die beiden Raser sonst dazu verleitet haben? Der Zehnzylinder schnurrt, die Autos auf der rechten Fahrbahn fliegen nur so vorbei. Doch als die Nadel des digitalen Tachos über 300 steigt, verliert der Fahrer schliesslich doch die Kontrolle über das Geschoss. Das 610 PS Auto rammt erst die linke Leitplanke, bevor es durch die rechte Leitplanke in einem Entwässerungsgraben landet und in Flammen aufgeht.
Wie durch ein Wunder überlebten beide Insassen den Crash, von dem rund 200.000 Euro teurem Gefährt bleibt nur ein Haufen Blech übrig. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass dieses Video tatsächlich die abschreckende Wirkung hat, die die ungarische Polizei mit der Veröffentlichung des Clips bezweckt.

An experienced driver doesnt drive on unknown ways w/ full speed.
When ya watch this video it's easy to see that the whole time happen no irregularities on the street. Then, short before the end, they happen. b/c of the mediocre state of the highway the waves shake the car which the guy could not handle, driving almost 200miles per hours/320km/h
With 100miles they would not have caused problems and if the driver would have been experienced he just would have slowed down at that special point of the track.

Oddly there aren't that many fatal crashes on the Audubon. Most people who want to "test their car's limit" do so safely. They also don't have to be looking out for cops. When the no-cop thrill is gone they can perform high speeds safer.

It's amazing how fast people drive on the autobahn in Germany. Personally, my fastest speed there while driving a rented Opel was about 140kph (~85). I had to take a limo from one city to another to make a flight and that driver topped out at 220kph (~130mph) in his new M-B -- and scared the $#@% out of me. Even at that speed, others were going faster in the far left "high speed" lane while we were in the middle lane
But this is Hungary not Germany :)
150km/h in a well-behaved Mercedes is still manageable and enjoyable. The roads here were quite good twenty years ago, and you can still drive at 120km/h safely. Don't be afraid.
Fastest I ever did was 240kmh in a Tesla. To be fair, in new cars it feels so much safer (and it probably is).
After a few seconds I went back down though. I could hear the angel's wings at that speed.

Dann ist es meiner Meinung nach aber erst recht sträflich dämlich, so schnell zu fahren.
Das ist aber auch genau das was ich immer sage: 610 PS müssen erst mal auf der Straße gehalten werden. Und vor allem: Auf der ungarischen Autobahn gilt ein grundsätzliches Tempolimit von 130 km/h. Somit hat ihm das rasen unterm Strich nix gebracht, abgesehen von einem Auto, dass jetzt nur noch Schrott ist...

I am from germany and here driving this fast is LEGAL. And many idiots do this. This problem is as big as the problem with americans and their guns. We have many Autobahn tourists here. People who don't know how dangerous and fast this really is. Here Trucks are allowed to drive 80 kph on right lane. When there are just 2 lanes, there often is a limit of 120 - 130 kph. The 3 lane Autobahn parts often have no limits. You can drive on left lane as fast as you want. BUT you should think about the following:
The regular car in germany has less than 150 hp. Most of the germans don't drive Mercedes, BMW or Audi with hundreds of horses under the hood. Most germans drive cheap small cars mostly asian brands.
German cars are unaffortable for most germans. The normal monthly income here is 2000 € BEFORE taxes. In the end, you maybe get 1500 € on your bank account per month. We get 12 payouts a year, that is 18 000 € a year. So most here decide to buy an older used car with high "milage" or buy newer cars from cheap asian brands like Kia or Hyundai or Mitsubishi.
Now you know that our cars are underpowered and maybe just can reach 170 kph. BUT then these small cars would become drinkers. So the regular speed on the Autobahn is 110-120 kph.
Now imagine, one of these overpowered idiots overtakes you with the double speed. You can test this yourself. Drive down a highway, turn on your emergency lights, and drive on the emergency lane and stop there. Now the other cars overtake you with 55-65 mph. Thats nearly 100 kph. That is the feeling if these idiots overtakes on the Autobahn. NOT FUNNY.
Driving fast in public is not a joke. Its dangerous. Maybe you are a good driver, that is no excuse and is not important, cause 9 of 10 people next to you on the Autobahn are bad drivers and will become the reason for an accident.

When they crash into another car, they give force to them, and these cars crashing worse than the idiots car. You can test this with Hotwheels toy cars. Yes i know, its not a real crashtest, but you can see, how forces are transfer from car to car. The car, which get hitten, will fly from the track. If its going to the opposite lane, the crash will be deadly to many people at the legal speeds in germany.
IF you are a biker and driving a fast sportsbike, you should know, that crashes at a speeds of 150 kph is nearly always deadly. Even with good helmet and gear. And if you survive this, you will be crippled.
I have lost some friends this way decades ago. Poor guys, they had no chance.

Was stationed in Germany for three years and I seen a few of these crash sites where it was nothing but shrapnel everywhere and you were hard pressed to even determine what kind of vehicle it was....

Same here (I worked 2 years there), in the summer on autoban or highway I was driven 100km to work every day and back to home, every second day we saw a crash on the way to work or back, they have money for fast cars. Im not going to say how many times some idiot like that was close to hit us also. Even with limit of 120km/h some people drive with 200km/h and more. The highway police was working very hard,but they cant be everywhere so those things happened everyday - fast driving and many crashes, bodies...ugly stuff

The thing that speed freaks don't seem to understand is that you might be the best driver in the world and have a incredible car but it is usually other things that get you killed. Mainly other drivers, crappy roads, tires/brakes not maintained, animals.... When not IF you drive like this your luck will eventually run out.

This had happened to me. The steering rod snapped at 115mph. It did not end well for the car.

@@MSM4U2POM I blew a tire at 114mph on the track and. did not even lose control of the car, I had complete control over it. It was the back tire though... Not sure how I would have faired if it was the front one. Also this blowout was not totally random, the tire was unknowingly (driven on flat) before filling it back up with air and going back out... the sidewall was already compromised.

This could have very easily happened in Germany as well. Or even worse - a collision with another car. In situations like these i always point out one thing: If you want to drive that fast, always keep in mind that you are not the only irresponsible driver on the streets. There are many drivers who make a lot of mistakes. In such a situation something as silly as forgetting to look in the mirror while pulling on the left lane could have been enough for a very bad ending. In a perfect world where everybody else is driving perfectly and especially passive, you could absolutely drive like that, but thats not how reality is. People make mistakes. Usually these mistakes are not a big issue, because most of the time cars drive in a civilized speed, where everybody has enough time to react and is able to avoid an accident. But with 300km/h there is nothing the driver could have done.
I would certainly not push my luck like that and risk my life, because i know damn well how many idiots are out there on the streets. Hell, there are even people out there who would drive in front of this guy on purpose when they see him racing in the mirror, completely underestimating his speed trying to brakecheck or some shit like that.

I was passed by a new Supra Turbo in Hungary just outside a city called Pecs in 2002. As the car passed me, I told my passenger that the car was travelling far too fast for the 2+2 lane highway we were on. As the car crested a hill, it became airborn and hit trees at around 140 mph. We watched as the car disintegrate about 200 meters ahead of us. A stupid reason for 2 people to die...

I was a passenger in a car that went 150 mph on a public road. The saying that telephone poles pass by like picket fences is true. The slightest bump in the road would cause the car to lift up and float down. Very scary. We passed a car that was going the speed limit of 50 mph, we were 100 mph faster. At this speed there is little time to react if another driver moved into our lane. Only went for about 30 seconds but that was enough for me. Save the high speed driving for the track.

I've taken a car up to 145mph on a deserted highway. It was still rock solid. It was still acceleratinh, but upcoming hill brow and curves obscured my view, so I slowed back down to an almost legal speed. I've had other cars that were scary at half that.
We were taught (back in the nineteen fifties) about a concept called "driving too fast for conditions". It applies to weather, the road conditions, the other traffic, and deciding wisely about the speed needed to get to your destination. Mixing fast traffic with slower traffic is foolhardy even if permitted by law.
@@joesgarage2493 Yes, indeed, training to drive on the roads leaves out too many essentials. But, even when people are properly trained, some will ignore or forget what they've learned. I remember a woman who was reading an open book while driving on a California highway. We put distance between our cars.

The same thing happened in Sweden in 2014 with 2 guys in a Lambo Gallardo convertible. They werent that lucky though.
Looked like a bump unsettled the car which is very unfortunate, also poor road design by the local council. The road should be smooth as butter to allow 200+kmh safely. Also your level of skill as a driver is virtually redundant if your car suddenly becomes unstable at such high speeds, you become a passenger at that instance.
The allowed speed on that road is 130 km/h. I had driven it many times at this speed, my car never ran off...

1980 I was driving a lorry M6 motorway Southbound carriageway ( ICY conditions ).
Two old dears were driving up the motorway the wrong way!
I slammed on my air brakes and went down the embankment and turned my lorry OVER 3 times and went flying out of the cab, to end up at the side of it.
Two old ladies turned around and drove off.

Offensichtlich hast du keine Ahnung über den Bau von Autobahnen. Es gibt hier nämlich erhebliche Unterschiede was die Dicke des Straßenbelag betrifft, die Toleranzen bezüglich Steigungen und Unebenheiten usw..
All das kostet Geld, was viele Staaten nicht ausgeben wollen. Dazu gehört z.B. auch die USA mit ihren Highways. Die haben dort am Aspahlt gespart im Vergleich zu einer Autobahn in z.B. Deutschland, was auch der Grund ist, warum dort so erhebliche Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen notwendig sind.
Eine unebene Fahrbahn oder eine, deren Asphaltdicke nicht dick genug ist, erlaubt keine großen Geschwindigkeiten.
Der Threadstarter hat somit nicht gänzlich unrecht. Dein Posting ist allerdings unter aller Sau und strotzt aus den hier genannten Gründen auch vor Unwissenheit.

@@Leclerc1663 130 km/h were allowed on this highway, and it only had 2 lanes. This was extremely dangerous for everyone he overtook. I live in Germany and even here many people don't realise when a car is really fast coming up on them and just chill on the left lane.

All I felt when watching this was pity on the other road users present at the time. The risk this idiot of a driver puts on innocent lives is enraging.
This is autobahn, you can drive as fast as you want, have three lanes, and noone forces you to drive on the third one.
