  • Players looking to fix their golf swing path often try to come from the inside. As a result, some players start experiencing blocks and hooks, or even worse, start striking the ground before the ball. More often than not, this is the result of positioning their head well behind the golf ball in the backswing. In today’s golf lesson, Kerrod Gray and Oli Tucker demonstrate how to fix your golf swing path to create more power.

Phenomenal video. This is me! I’m an excellent driver of the ball. Very, very consistent. However, my strike with irons sometimes suffers. I needed this reminder of keeping my upper body more centered. Great stuff, guys.

Great content, boys! The extension of the spine thing has been tough for me to get a handle on (I can be quite literal). May be a bit of a nitpick, but the key for me is that it is the *upper* spine that is extending. When Kerrod said we lose our front bend, I think that is not quite right. The lumbar spine maintains its forward bend, but the thoracic and even cervical spine that extends. This is exactly the motion of lifting the arms relative to the torso. I think the wood chopping analogy is a good one, but instead of standing up vertically, the upper spine lifts the arms.
When Kerrod demoed the wrong way, notice the arms never lifted.
Anyway, everyone’s feels are different, this is what makes the light come on for me.

Hey Scott! Thanks for the message and great observation. This info is produced for a mass audience so there is a degree of simplicity introduced however as you said the 'feel' is the key here for the individual!

    While I have been practicing
I have choked down on the clubs
Which makes you lean over more and make me rotate better

Whenever I try to work on path as in more from inside and or on plane my ball first divot after becomes an issue. More thins and some fats.
I guess this is what this video is addressing but I feel that most amateurs are more steep to be able to get good strike.
Idea for future video. How do you still get a downward strike with divot when coming from inside or trying to be less steep. Thanks. Love this channel
