  • This build is a full rotisserie restoration, countless hours have gone into this car, the owner needed it to be show car standard, numerous changes were required mini tubs, transmission tunnel raised, engine bay completely seam welded and finished, wiring hidden from view, custom finished crossmember, custom fitted and hand made fuel lines and brake lines, the list goes on.

    Great job guys.
    Nice touches with the round headlights (L34) and LX door mirrors.
    I think the (L34) all chrome bumper bars would have been a better choice. Would work well with the wheels.
    But full marks.

    My first car was a LH in that same colour. Mine had a white roof, I owned it from 1995-97
    Spent a ton of money on it and A LOT of hard work bringing it from the dead back to being a great car. I hope that one was mine :-)

      This was original, and was factory brown to start with. 😃

    Exceptional restoration!
    I hass an LX hatchback genuine SS,sold it around 17 years ago,still regret it.
    I bought a 2002 Monaro that I have fully rebuid,never going to sell it,told my son I will get buried in it.
    Still prefer the Torana,classic not plastic.

      Oh the regret is terrible.
      I was approached by a woman who wanted to sell me her LH low compression 6 cylinder but I passed on it even though it was just $1000.
      I said to her, if she thought I was being silly, passing on it, I would change my mind and just buy it from her.
      I also passed on a metallic green SLR 5000 with all white interior for just $4,500 in about 2003.

      Unfortunately we have a social context to these things.
      Our memories were created decades ago and our subconscious mind tells us what's correct and what's wrong.
      If our brain picks out 1 detail that wasn't around back in the day, our brain refuses to be happy.
      It goes into record mode cause it knows its never seen this version ever before.
      You can't fool subconscious minds.
      When we see this car, our brains go into record mode and it's occupied.
      We can't stop our brains doing that.

    Stunning work.
    When filling and sanding the sides i see you go over the gaps/shuts , which makes a lot of sense.
    But what do you do to reinstate the gapp/ shut ... be as detailed in the explanation as you can..or is there a video?

    • @TheSuzukik5
      @TheSuzukik5  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Tim, simply use a 4mm drill bit starting at the top of the gap and run around the door, the drill will follow the existing gap, then sand the edge of the filler back to the metal on each edge to finish, it doesn’t take a lot as it’s only a skim of filler as you pre set all the face gaps correctly with the body before filler.

    • @Gma7788
      @Gma7788 Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah, I've learnt to like both for different reasons.
      Unfortunately, the design of the cut off ✂️ rear end was done for a reason by the designer.
      We all should know, after a certain speed, the cut off rear end will cause turbulence and lift the rear, which causes a high speed spin.
      So the rear spoiler is also a safety feature.
      The bonnet isn't high enough to fit a normal size air cleaner.
      Hence the need for a bonnet hole cut out.
