Been waiting for this video. I have been throwing big worms a lot lately, so this video is perfect 👍🏻
Another great video young man! Keep em coming ! @Wheeler Fishing
Thank you for taking the time to make these quality videos. Very much appreciated
Man dragging a worm through a brush pile is so fun.
Great breakdown of the different techniques for different situations. Thanks Jacob.
Absolutely my fav. Content creator for fishing. Keep them coming brother.
Great video. Throwing more big worms lately so this was very helpful for me.
One of the best videos on big 🐛 fishing ever made. WOW! You the man.
Ty for the knowledge
great fisherman. very dedicated to his profession. salute.
Great video Jacob, as Roland would say, son, that’s a bigun, ok well maybe not. Loved it, thanks for sharing your expertise!
Man JW I needed this video. Perfect timing for me to find this. I am a crankbait guy. I love my crankbait set up. So I reach for it often, but I realized I really need to work on soft plastics, and with summer on the horizon this video hit hard. Can't wait to get back on water.
thanks, lots of good tips.
Thanks for the video and the info. Much appreciated. Even more important, “leave the lake better than you found it”. Great reminder for all.
Great video on a great technique!
My favorite summer bait
I love to fish a worm and your video gave me something to think about and try. Thanks
Awesome video
Into is awesome!
U the man jdub!
Good placement
Jacob, that was the best worm seminars I’ve ever watched you are a great teacher this will help get my son on some summer Pa bass. Appreciate you man.
Where do you fish in PA?
@@craigduvall5628 Western Pa Craig.
Lol that last brush pile I dropped last year! Thanks for showing everyone on chickamauga! 😂
Yessssssirrrrrr
🐐🔥
Dang Nabbit JW Best teaching video you ever made.👍 Thx for sharing your knowledge. Can’t wait to try it
Plastic worms are definitely my go-to here in SoCal. Working on throwing the Mann's 12 jelly worm on 20lb braided line this month.
Wheels, you have an understanding of bass and their habits, instincts, and environments than any fisherman before you. I put you in the class with the likes of Doug Hannon, Al Lindner, Bill Dance, and Rick Clunn. You don’t just know modern electronics, you KNOW the prey of which you use them to hunt. THIS is what makes a REAL fisherman.
Excellent. I always figured bass thought bigger worms were youngs Eels.
Crazy. I just started smashing em on a 12" power worm when the senko bite slowed. I hooked em on the dropshot rig you used for smallmouth and killed em...
I'm gonna have to get some bigger worms
Ol monster or a mondo worm all day 💯💯
Big perm!
Draggin' a snake through old Harrison on a road bed... good spot...
I think smaller worms are also leech imitators. Like you said at the beginning, some places have American freshwater eels, and bigger worms can imitate those in places where they can be found as well as lampreys.
Great video 👍, I've watched Jimmy Houston catch bass on his lake with Manns jelly worms strawberry & he was catching one every cast, but I tried them never got a bite!
thats a baby eel bro!
I bet smokey from "Friday" would be hiding from Big Worm!
You would! Lol
@@SmallmouthCrush Everybody talking about Big Worm right now and all I can think of is an Ice Cream Truck and Jerry Curls! 😂 As Chris Tucker aka Smokey would say, "You knowwww diss mannnnnn"
@@SmallmouthCrush love your channel man🤙🤙
I believe they often take big worms for lampreys, which are abundant on the Tennessee River. I rigged a lamprey on Slider head on Guntersville once and promptly got my 10lb line broken by a big bass.
Shallow i find a weighless texas rig really works best on the edge of pads grass, etc.
Luar biasa mantapnua.. 👍👍
J Dub, take me and my son fishing! We live in Knoxville. Would love to fish with you!
I am kinda surprised you didn't mention the ol ball n chain....
We get allot of milfoil in our local reservoir but the water is clear... I typically swim an underspin just tickling the top of grass for that daytime strike. I'll try my big worms I usually throw on ledges.
Great vid J. Wheels! Thanks for all the info, I gotta work on my big worm game this summer. I was wondering, do you not use a big worm on a Carolina rig at all? What do you prefer on a carolina rig as opposed to a ribbontail? I've had good luck on them in the past, that's about the only way I've gotten bit on a big worm besides just chucking and winding it like a cut tail style worm. You're the man, keep it up!
@@goingfishin869 appreciate any info I can get my man! I've not had much luck on a lizard on a c-rig for whatever reason, although i hear they're money. I find myself reaching for either a worm or some sort of brush hog style bait more often than not, but i may have to give the zoom lizards another shot. Thanks!
They could also mimic Eels potentially.
Great video what do you set your custom depths at example 0-5ft red 5-10 green etc. Thanks JW
Hey Wheeler can you make a video dedicated to graphing offshore and how you drop a waypoint and then turn around and navigate to the way point, how you have your course settings set and all of the details on the whole getting lined up on the waypoint. Thanks man thanks for all of the help in the video's!
Thinking about doing some seriously in depth ones on this and charging for access to them. Would you be willing to throw a few bucks for this if available?
@@WheelerFishing don’t know about him, but I would be, yes
I've caught some big bass throwing a weightless worm into a wood pile and just let it sink and that works just swim it out and stop and let it fall again and hold on to your rod you just never know what is watching your bait. I think its pretty cool to think i was born in Eastern Tennessee but have lived in Southern Indiana for years kinda the opposite of you. 👍

Ever use the 6th sense ridge worm? Different profile and presentation. Caught a 4.2 first time I used it.
Absolutely killed Florida with a ridge worm 🪱 it worked incredibly in the grass on headwaters. 100 fish a day
In South Carolina fish feed on wood els around cypress trees, they look like a worm!
Ok the bes ...juara ikan air tawar
I use those GIANT long 15"/17" worms at the reservoirs near my home in GA and they catch GIANTS!! mostly the ol monsters in 10.5/ 12" but I like a 5/0 long shank for those big longer worms only thing is they hard to find, maybe vmc will make one...I still want u to make a dock skipping video, that's typically 90% of our fishing in middle GA is docks, docks and more docks.
Great stuff dude! Might want to refresh my channel and check out the most recent video 😉
Yall some lucky people with off-shore grass in your lakes. Here in NC we get some yuppy in their mcmansion sees one blade of grass in "their lake" and the whole dang lake winds up getting sprayed killing everything. Very few places on our lakes actually have grass. We have to graph and find those hard structure changes. Chunk rock to pea gravel, stumps, large rocks, brush piles, even a 6" depression will hold fish.
I've always assumed they considered them small snakes. It was the only thing that made sense for the wide variety of water bass live in.
I don't have live target, but I've graphed over them and quickly thrown a worm to catch one or two ..
With the swing head setup, do you slow roll the bait like normal swing head fishing or do you work it differently?
wheeler, when would you use a medium heavy with braided line direct to hook? I've got a 7ft medium heavy fast with a lews speed spool 7.1.1 with 30lb braid and wanted to know when this would be a good use setup and i won't mind to throwing a leader on the braid with fluoro or mono if need be but I'm also a shorter guy at 5'3" and am use to using braid for everything. I wanted to get into using fluoro or mono leaders on the braid for everything even with cranks but wanted your opinion if that's OK with you.
Mr. Wheeler what is your favorite knot to tie when Texas rigging a big worm?
I have fished alot of 12 inch weightless worms on top, and caught a bunch.
crazy how a 10inch bass will smack a 12 inch worm
Doink
Bro you help me more then you know
Another good secret is to throw one weightless like a kingtail. Kinda sinks like a senko, you can swim it or fish it slow. Very natural and fish dont see it I've caught 5 pounders doing it
So you only peg when fishing deeper water?
Can I come out and fish with you JW? I live in East Tennessee too 😁👍
But you only get to throw the gigantic worm
@@dustinwalker8152 challenge accepted but if I catch a fish on it I get to fish anything after that
I understand the use of 15 lb line but i break off so many with a MH rod and your using a H rod.. What am i doing wrong.... I use 20 lb cause of that
So based on what you are saying the free swinging head is more like carolina rig fishing.
It helps to be the guy who sunk the pile because you'll know which way to fish it from because you know how the limbs are facing
For my Harris chain and surrounding folks, find the type of grass they are on and don’t get off of that, if they are in hydrilla they won’t be on Kissimmee grass
Take that BIG WORM to Mexico they have monster Bass there
Amazing how 10" largies bite a 10" worm with ease
Do you ever throw a big worm on a drop shot?
Water dog
What is your favorite rod and reel wheeler?
you vs the guy she tells you not to worry about
I personally don’t believe some baits actually imitate anything, they just look like an easy meal. To a predator, that’s all that matters.
I would have thought popping it makes the weight slide towards the worm... Learn something new
Eels, leaches....
