    I've caught some of my best bass on plastic worms. 7" in black/chartreuse, black/blue fleck, or purple. I've found dark colors work in the murky waters that just about every pond has in my state. Sometimes I simply use plain jigheads, but in the especially weedy ponds, I'll use a Texas Rig. Given the shallow ponds I fish in, I don't need to use anything heavier than 1/4 oz.

    Hey Tyler, not sure if you’ve done a video like this or not, but could you do one over soft plastics that you find to be extremely versatile? For instance, a bait that you feel could be used for deep, middle, top water columns.
    It would be super beneficial to me and I’m sure others that don’t have the money to spend on tons of rods and/or baits.

    Worms can breathe in water and sometimes end up in the water especially during a lightning storm. Large night crawlers can be near the size of those worms. Leaches also can be fairly long as well, snakes and newts look very similar size and shape to a worm. For big worms I like straight shank worms hooks smaller better! Look up mojo rig.

    • @TylersReelFishing
      @TylersReelFishing  Pƙed 2 lety

      I don’t think the weight is what’s causing that to happen. Soft plastics just weaken, especially after fish catches, which causes it to fall down. But hey, if it’s workin for ya, keep it up!

    What are your thoughts on big/bigger worms when it comes to small mouth?
    Outside of the obvious smaller mouth, and for the most part how they tend to prefer finesse, I’ve caught smallies on sone pretty sizable crankbaits, so just curious how often you use big worms for smallies

    So I'm primarily a bank fisherman and, and in my favorite spot is a bunch of thick, tall grass at the edge of the water. It definitely does not make a canopy as it is literally just grass, but any time I try to get a lure in it, the lure is forced up and out of the water. This also happens to be where I hear the most fish amd see/hear the most blowups. Got any suggestions?
