I’m so happy to hear this tutorial was helpful! Be sure to check out my pinned comment in video two. There is an identical clip that was added and the video couldn’t be edited. So just remember your increasing at the corners are just in the corners. Thank you for watching and commenting! Have fun making the rest of your blanket!
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I have been able to follow your instructions easily, which is quite an accomplishment on your part, considering this is such a complex pattern. I am using white and turquoise and changing the colors out randomly. It is absolutely beautiful. Congratulations!
So far so good I'm up to row 15 I'm using some cheap yarn to practice before I make it with my good yarn 😊 thank you for explaining the repeats 😊and thank you for making the videos I've wanted to have a go at this for ages and now I can follow along to video. Thank you so much 😊
This is absolutely stunning. I’ve only been doing crochet for just 1 year, and I so wanted to attempt this. I was going along quite nicely with your excellent instructions, unfortunately I’ve come upto row 24, no matter how many times I watch & re do my work, I cannot work it out 😩. I will keep replaying the vid, hopefully, it’ll come to me 😊. Massive love from Liverpool xx
It took me awhile but I've made it to Part 2! This pattern is a challenge but I've got to see this done. It's such a pretty blanket. Thanks again, Jonna!😀🤔😀
That’s great! As a reminder for this part on round 24 there is a double clip in the video. For that round (24) you will only have 25 single crochet on each side of your blanket. 👍 Thank you for watching and commenting. ❤️
You are so clever and make it look so easy, I did follow a virus blanket tutorial you did and that turned out okay, so I'll be brave and try this one, thank you so much for your tutorial 🥰🤗😊
I have a very serious question. On 41:02 instructions are as follows: after sk 1 st sc 25 sts - dc in middle st in row 20 - sk 1 st & sc next st - dc middle st in row 20 - sk 1 st & sc 3 sts - hdc 4 sts - dc 5 sts. Then start the repeat (same as pattern). PATTERN SAYS: after sk 1 - sc 3 - hdc 4 - dc5. Then start the repeat same as video. What do I do!!!! Please help me with this beautiful blanket. You are the best.
This may sound like a dumb question but would you explain what 2 clips that are identical mean. Also, please explain what 25 stitches per side of blanket mean. I am determined to make this beautiful blanket. I love your all your videos and I plan on doing much more. Thank you so much for your help.
When I film I take short videos and put them together to make a long video. They are called clips. So I accidentally put two of the same into the video. I’m still learning a lot about editing so it was an editing mistake. But I’ll know now for the future. There are 4 sides on the blanket. Each corner has its own stitches. So the flat long sides have 25 stitches each. As you go with the round you will understand it better I think. Thank you for watching! ♥️
Hi, While I'm loving this pattern and so far have followed along pretty well. I have a problem. Round 20 when you start explaining the repeat, your audio cuts out for what looks like 7 treble crochet?? it was so fast, I'm not honestly sure if correct. Your audio comes right back on for the next bit after that. Please, am I correct? or what is that part. please. Thank you in advance.
This is a beautiful pattern and you do great job with the tutorial. I am a little confused though on round 13. You mention and show yourself doing an occasional chain one, but it is not part of the repeat. When and where do I chain one please?
Hello! Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes on round 13 you should be chaining one on either side of the extended double crochet if you are following the pattern. I kept forgetting to, so honestly if you don’t do it, it won’t mess with anything! How I filmed this blanket is exactly how I made mine. I film and share these tutorials in my interpretation of the pattern and try to do my best, though I am human and am reading the pattern as I am teaching it. I recommend using the pattern and then the tutorial as a visual. Thanks again for watching and commenting! I’m really happy you’re linking the pattern!
I have the same question. I have a iPad so I can’t copy the pattern. I totally depend on your video. You explained how to but it never happened. I come up with 138 stitches. You said to ch1 after dc&fpdc, if I ch1 before and after each extended dc also, I would have 152 stitches.
I'm on round 22 .... After we start the squaring .. Is this written so it can be made bigger ...?? Or do you have to make it the size of the pattern ...???
Video 3 has the repeats and in the description box of that video (drop down arrow or show more) has the rounds to repeat. Thank you for watching and commenting. PS. No I did not make this as big as it an be.
It’s so annoying that I had to frog 2 rows because you did not say to ch 1 after EACH set of extended double crochets! You said 1 time after the set where you back post double crotchet and that was it. FYI everyone, ch 1 after EVERY set of extended double crochets on ROUND 12
??Hey Jonna I'm having trouble with row 13 coming out with 137st . If I'm following currently it is ch1 Bpdc x3 DC Fpdc ch1 Exdc 5DC Exdc Fpdc DC Bpdc x5 DC Fpdc ch1 Edc 5DC Edc Then start repeat from Fpdc DC Bpdc x5 DC Fpdc Ch1 Edc 5DC Edc Until you get to Ch1 Fpdc DC Bpdc in next 2 Sl st in first Dc.???
Yes! I think it would be beautiful. I think Mandala yarn is a (3)....? So slightly more yarn than worsted (4) to make a nice sized blanket. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I am so confused on round 24. It's so beautiful and I've gotten this far and now I'm stuck. I can't get it right. Can anyone help? Is there a written pattern ? Thank you!
Hello there is a glitch in the video on round 24 that repeat. You only want 25 single crochet per side. Work corners as shown. And yes there is a written pattern. Search BebaBlanket high tide waves blanket or check the description box of this video. Thank you for watching and commenting. I apologize for the video causing confusion. 💞
On row 24, after the DC in 5 sts, before the repeat, am I supposed to sc in the next 25 sts before repeat? I'm not at the fan shape for the repeat after the 5 dcs before repeat. Hope you understand what I'm asking.
I’m sorry I’m not sure what you’re asking but you should only have 25sc on each side of your blanket. Row 24 has a double clip in the video. (Edit error) if you watch closely.
I don’t see why not! I think Mandela is a (3) weight yarn so it would be slightly smaller per round than mine but in PART 3 tutorial the repeats will happen and you can make this blanket as big as you like. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I'm having a hard time at the end of row 24..then going into row 25 the point where I am supposed to be at the first corner I'm not..I'm at the 3 DC then 3 in the middle then 3 DC not the first corner..I have repeatedly taken these last two rows apart. It's obviously something I'm doing 🥺 can you please give some advice? Thank you
It’s also time consuming but I suggest you count your stitches when things were going right, and make sure you have the correct number to start the new round.
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet Ok I think I've figured out the error/confusion. When following the video for round 24, at time 41:05 after the (dc into the stitch below, skip a stitch, sc into next, dc back into stitch below, skip a st and sc.) I believe you added a section of 25 sc. When a corner should be made there (3 sc, 4 hdc, 5 dc, 2dc ch 2 2dc...and so on.)
Im having the same issue. I've frogged mine and redone it several times still with the same problem. I hate to say but I do believe there is a mistake in the video.
Has anybody made a video of the round 24 revision ..?? I did the complete round and had to frog it because it was "just not right"... then I saw there was a mistake in that round .!!!!
There won’t be a video of the revision. They are identical clips. There is nothing wrong with the video or the round, it’s a small editing error. I do my best creating the free tutorials and editing them for visual reference. I’m not a professional movie editor. Unfortunately this tutorial has the extra clip, but if you watch closely you’ll see it makes no sense to use them together and as you found out it’s just not right. Thanks for watching.
Attention: There are two clips in the video on round 24 that are identical.
You only want 25 sc per side of the blanket.
Thank you for understanding.
I am still not getting it right. I am up on stitches untill 41:32
After froggin 4 times I figured it out. Maybe instead of putting the mistake down n ur comments, put it on the description
Thank you for this suggestion and saying it so kindly. I will definitely do this. ❤️
I’m am driving myself nuts wondering what I did wrong!!! It’s nice to know I’m not crazy. Lol
Oh lord have mercy I am so glad I’m not crazy. Wow.
I just finishing to crochet part 1 and would NEVER have done this succesfully without your tutorial, thank you again. Go for part 2 !

Row 24 in the video is incorrect. I have read a comment that says the same. i dont see a pinned comment. I'll try to figure it out on my own.
Row 21 is my least favorite row!!!
When will part 3 come out? I like the pattern. Thank you for sharing.

Hi jonna could I use mandala yarn for if so how many yards of yarn thank you the blanket is beautiful
Yes! I think it would be beautiful. I think Mandala yarn is a (3)....?
So slightly more yarn than worsted (4) to make a nice sized blanket. Thank you for watching and commenting.

@@JonnaMartinezCrochet I figured it out. I've only been crocheting for 2 years, but I'm learning.
Lisa Williams would you please explain what you did before the repeat. I bought the pattern and still having trouble. Thank you.
Can you use mandala yarn for the same effect or not?
I don’t see why not! I think Mandela is a (3) weight yarn so it would be slightly smaller per round than mine but in PART 3 tutorial the repeats will happen and you can make this blanket as big as you like.
