Referred to as, “The Hot Hauler” this is one of few authentic C10 Stageway Coaches Crew Cabs known to exist. This truck has received a substantial amount of press and was featured on Velocity T.V. It was featured in multiple magazines including LMC Truck, Street Scene and Classic Trucks. It was also featured online by Hot Rod and Motortrend. It has been the participant of many well-known car shows where it’s achieved multiple awards including Goodguys “Chevy Truck Pick”, Goodguys “Hot Hauler Pick”, Summit Lonestar Nationals “LMC Chevy Truck Pick”, Heartland Nationals “ LMC Chevy Truck Pick”, Rock Auto Company “Restored Award”, NSRA Oklahoma Street Rod Nationals “Safety Pick”, NSRA Springfield Nationals, “Street Scene Pick”, Texas Motor Speedway C10 Nationals “Best Engineered Award” and Dino’s Git Down “Street Trucks Magazine Top 20”. Two Goodguys awards and the three magazines are included. In the 1960’s, Chevrolet dealers could commission these conversions from coach companies. In this case, it was Stageway Coaches, Inc located in Fort Smith, AR as documented with the original Manufacturer’s Certification Certificate. It was commissioned by A&B Sales Company Chevrolet located in Redfield, SD as documented on the original dealership Bill of Sale. The charge for the “Special Stageway Six Man Cab and Freight” was $1,257.18. The conversion included read doors that were built to match the factory front doors, partially extending the chassis and shorting the rear bed. The truck was sold to Dr. Myron Fahrenwald who lived in Redfield, AR on March 31st, 1965. Myron used the truck for hunting until he sold it three years later to Carl Sante, Jr who lived in Redfield, SD. Carl used the truck for his painting business and kept it for the next 40 years before selling it to Roger and Tammy Gleaves in 2007. It was the product of a complete restoration which was started in 2010 and completed in 2017. Roger collaborated with Keimig Body Shop for the entire build. The vision of the build was to keep the original appearance with modern upgrades. Most of the exterior sheet metal was replaced new and GM late-model pickup hidden hinges were added to the rear doors. The body is laser straight with excellent body gaps. It was re-finished in the gorgeous color combination of era correct Corvette Rally Red and Ford Wimbledon White. The paint work is high quality and looks amazing. The mirrors are from a mid-1960’s Corvette. The LMC Truck reproduction rear bed was dressed with custom burled black walnut floor. The truck sits on custom 20” Schott Americana Concave wheels that are wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force tires. The new Light Fawn Metallic interior looks beautiful. The rear door panels were fabricated to match the front door panels and center console. Some of the interior custom features include Ididit tilt steering column, mid-1960’s Corvette front seats and Vintage Air Conditioning. The engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout. The truck is powered by a GM Performance LSX 454 create engine that is rated with 620HP. The modified air cleaner from a 2015 Camaro Z28 feeds the LS7 Corvette electronic fuel injection system. The engine breathes through a custom 3” exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. A two-piece driveshaft connects the 4L85E automatic transmission to the original 3.42 geared GM 12-bolt rear end with an Eaton limited slip differential. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed throughout. The frame was painted black and the bottom side was painted body color. It was outfitted with a Rock Valley 18-gallon fuel tank, Classic Performance suspension and Baer four wheel disc brakes. Original documentation includes the owner’s manual, owner protection plan with Protect-O-Plate, Bill of Sale, Manufacturer’s Certification Certificate, title from 1981 and registration from 2006. This truck was recently serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that is included.
