Please also note, I was facing my house while making this video, so at 4:13 when I draw the bow, I do so without an arrow nocked for safety reasons (so that it could not possibly be accidentally fired into my house). Please also note that my finger was BEHIND the release trigger while doing this and adding forward pressure against the trigger so that it could not possibly disengage, which is how I draw my bow every single time. Normally, you do not want to draw a bow without an arrow nocked on the string (and pointed at a target) to avoid the possibility of dry firing the bow. Dry firing can cause injury and damage to the bow.
this is one of the most focused, no-bs compound bow training videos ive seen in a long time
agreed!
Thanks so much! God bless you!
Thanks so much!
Wow, thanks so much WOW!
Yeah i'll echo that 100% as well as the comment below this. My shooting drastically improved after trying a few of these tips. Thank you!
I think I've watched this video over a dozen times. Great tips that have really helped me. I keep coming back to it as a reference point for any specific area I feel I need to work on. Really great video! Thank you Sean!
That is great to hear! Thanks so much Paul!

Thanks
I started bow hunting 6 years ago and every year about this time I look for videos to help my shooting and this one is the one that does it. Probably watched it 30 times over the years
Thanks so much! God bless ya
Per standard, Shawn delivers easy-to-understand instructions that make sense. I love taking his advice and then applying it as I get into this sport. Thank you, brother Shawn!
Thanks Richard. God bless you
Best right to the point and advice of all the videos on you tube. Thanks for the help!!!
👍
Best video I have seen by far so far. I went right out side and was able to start hitting the target and started getting some nice groupings. The two arrow tip is great. I just spent almost 2 hours out and made so much progress in my shots. Thanks a lot for the video :)

Good video. I've been shooting for 15+ years and always look for ways to improve. It always seems that the most improvement comes when I get back to the basics. Keep up the good work...

Best shooting tip video on CZcams. Thanks so much Sean. Watched it last night and used the info this am and my shooting has improved dramatically already. Seems to have cured my case of target panic. The advice to take one piece at a time and practice it I.E. holding the bow works wonders. Keep them coming and God Bless!
Thanks Bob. Glad it was helpful. God bless you.
Thank you for putting this video out. I'm new to shooting and just learned I'm a head mover and I start my draw low. I'm going to start working on that today.
Keep up the good work.
You are welcome, Travis! I'm happy to hear that. God bless you.
Very nice video, helpful and easy to follow. I will see it several times. Thank you for that!
That is great to hear. Thank you! God bless you!
Great video. I watched this a few years ago when I took up archery and ran across it again. I remember it really helped me.
Great. Glad it helped! God bless you.
I know I've commented on your newer videos. But I finally got my first compound bow. Bought used and older to see how I enjoy the sport. Replaced string, cable, and tuned it all with your videos. It shoots NICE!! Peep is on it's way and I'll have to learn to install that.
I appreciate all the info you've provided over the years. I have a lot to watch still.
Thanks brother. Enjoy it!
the anchoring point and the releasing is great advice and really helped me. thanx!!!
Thanks. Glad you liked it. God bless you.
Thank you for this very informative video, I will be putting all this into practice and have no doubt my consistency will be improving greatly
Great!!

great tips. The release angle tip is really something for me to think about. Thanks!
👍
Thank you so much for this video. Just had bow tuned and new strings. I learned to listen to my body and found I was keeping my release too tight, I found that relaxed state. It dramatically tightened my grouping.
Awesome. God bless you!

Great video I just realized I make all of those mistakes and now I have some things to work on.
Glad it helped
This is probably the best, most practical, "how to" take it to the next level video I've seen. It takes a shooter beyond the basics, and suggests subtle hints often overlooked. This video takes us beyond basic mechanics of avoiding bow torque, controlling breathing, relaxing grip, and aligning peep. Sean suggests a focus on muscle relaxation of the grip hand, forward shoulder, back muscles, neck and face. Also poignant are his comments about the pressure of the release hand to anchor point.

After not shooting for quite a few years, I purchased a new compound bow and have been shooting for the last two months. Although I've finally accomplished a bullseye grouping at 20 yards, I just don't feel comfortable and struggle with it each session. Can't wait to try a few of your tips tomorrow. Seriously! Especially relaxing the muscles in my neck and shoulder. Looking forward it. And thanks for the video ....spent about an hour looking for one good one and you're it.

Thanks a ton for the tips! Here in PA, I missed my first 2 archery shots ever on a bucks fan have been beating myself up over it since. My consistency has been poor, and I had no idea the importance of relaxing my hand, pulling it back to the right point on my pace, and your other tips.

Great tips, thanks man.

Even as a new shooter this was great advice. I had been shooting really well, then all of a sudden I couldn't the bulls-eye for nothing. Then I watched your video, and used the techniques you mentioned. Lets just say I had my best outing yet. I put 4 right around the bulls-eye ring on my target. Thanks.

That is great! I am glad to hear that! God bless you!
Mate those tips were so handy. Im back into Bow-hunting/ABA targets again with my Bear Legion after 20yrs and have been shooting to the right at distances from 28-40 metres away. Now I can focus on my anchor point and the grip, and shall now watch part 2. Gosh the equipment's changed in that time, peep sights pins I gotta get out more :) Many thanks again Larry from Downunder

I always shoot with an open hand (thinking it's "relaxed") and I never thought of it as taking muscles to keep it open. Thanks a ton I will definitely work on that next time I get to shoot!

Really great tips Sean! I've just picked up a Bowtech Carbon Knight - it's so much lighter & powerful than my much much older bow... I'm having a little difficulty sighting & accuracy. Thanks again.
You are welcome. Glad it helped. God bless you!
wow i wish i would have watched your viedio 10 yrs ago some of the key points you touched on were some of my biggest problems on being accurate thank you for your viedo you are a pro

Just starting out.... day 4. Found this to be very helpful.

Clear consistent advice and neatly spoken. I've got my first bow coming soon (a 55lb compound) to go with my 125lb crossbow and .22 air rifle, not to mention my slingshot, so I'm looking for some solid pointers. Thanks!

Good tips Sean....The one on the two arrows only is a big one! I see time and time again on the sportsmen channel, so many guys pulling to much weight. I shoot 64 pounds and that's enough for me. My bow Shoots tight out to 80 yards for fun, and hunting to 50. My tents have been out for weeks and in 12 days its opener...... I hope to just relax, and enjoy all the things the deer woods has to offer me......
👍
Great video! Thank you
👍👍👍
I agree on everything especially the poundage. I haven't shot over 60# for years. I can shoot all day without tiring. A game changer for me was the Garmin Xero sight. I've always been terrible about judging distance when shooting at large game. I hated having to use the range finder. With the Garmin I'm on every time and no extra movement.
Great video as always.
Thank you!
