so true, for David (and his whole family) every situation is a chance to be extra and over the top and the way Patrick and Stevie handle it is perfect, they give him his moment and then pull him out of it with sarcasm or snark. I love that they love him the way he his though, they don't try and keep him from having his moment, they just don't let him run it into the ground.
Yeah, one of the best things about Patrick is that he has such an unclouded view of David: while he loves him, he's also fully aware of David's flaws and doesn't make excuses for them, but instead gets David to take a good look at himself and grow and mature! SUCH a healthy relationship!

Patrick is usually such a smooth smart ass, so the moments were you see such real intense emotion on his face are the best. Right after David said I love you the look on his face was incredible, than quickly back to smartass. The same when David told him he need time after finding out about Rachel, or when he was worried about coming out to his parents or when Jake kissed David in front of him. Those quick moments are great and a testament to Noah's acting.

Yeah, at the beginning of the show David was a snarky smart ass who spent a lot of time in the dark tormenting his sister. Now he's got a fiance who's just as big a smart ass as he is. Dan is best friends with Noah and his real-life fiance Clare.

S3 finale = first kiss S4 finale = I love you S5 finale = proposal S6 finale = wedding I know Dan has said about always wanting to 'one-up' on the finales each year I just never realised how much that re solved around David and Patrick's relationship. 💜❤💜
Technically, "The Hike" when the proposal happened wasn't S5 finale. It was second to the last. However, they did announce the engagement during "Life Is a Cabaret" which was the finale. So that's very close.
The continuity is INCREDIBLE in this show. To remember even the little detail of the TEA (when a lot of other shows would just be like oh screw it, no body even paid attention to the tea comment at the beginning of the episode) is extraordinary

This gave me a lol, because yes it is good, but also ever since I noticed it cuts back and forth between David's hands being on Patrick's shoulders and then not I can't help but notice that error of continuity 😂 I understand why they used those takes though, the performances are both beautiful.

I just wanna say… that this is my Favourite TV romance ever!!! They were so accepting of each other. And the milestones just felt so real!!! And the tea part was perfection. ❤

Even though David’s character arc and personal growth is more fleshed out and obvious than Patrick’s, Patrick weirdly a hidden gem in a way. He’s down to earth, modest and humble, and doesn’t use humor as a defense mechanism, his vulnerability encourages and pulls out David’s vulnerability. A testament to Patrick’s character despite coming out a lot later in life than David, his ability to adjust to him and see he has a good heart is a subtle beauty of his. This show was much needed ❤️
