It really is the attention to small details for me. The air conditioning. The fact he didn't launch the bottle of water at our face. But more than that, the softness and the vulnerability was just beautiful. The tone of his voice and he planned for everything except the potential "yes" are such brilliant, soft touches that work SO wonderfully well.

Erik. Thank you for creating this wonderful character (and ofc many others) but Damien’s backstory just hits different. Hit different on a different level, because I kind of relate to him planning out his goals and having trust issues with the people around him. Hearing him say things to someone he loves feels like he took the words put of me ans said what I’ve always wanted to say to those I fall for, and hope they would understand.
Like Damien, I don’t know what words and timing would be appropriate for most of those occasions where I’m the one who confesses, and those ended up in catastrophe.
Especially because I don’t trust people and I’m not used to affirmations or people confessing to me (instead of the other way around) hearing Damien say “I have feelings for you. I like you.” 8 simple words just. Turned on the waterworks and it won’t stop flowing- Damien bby please don’t drown in my tears I didn’t mean to cry so much-
I feel so loved. Thank you, Erik, for creating Damien, and I look forward to many other characters.

I started listening to this series because I needed an escape from losing 10 years of creative work, from being rejected by graduate programs, by being so painfully alone I can't breathe.
And now, he describes the exact situation I am in. I know it isn't a canon route but I am happy that in at least one life, he finds someone who pulls him out of his isolation. He deserves it.
