Team Reptile brings you Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, 1 second per second of highly advanced funkstyle. In a world from the mind of Dion Koster, where self-styled crews are equipped with personal boostpacks, new heights of graffiti are reached. People talking about how Sega doesn't WANT to release more Jet Set, but I think deep down we all knew at some point that it was this. They didn't want to hand it over to someone they didn't KNOW got it and could do it, but they also knew they couldn't do it anymore.

Why stop with just Klaus? Hell just get everyone that contributed to the Lethal League soundtrack. They all did a fantastic job, in my opinion.

Can't get enuf. My ONLY complaint is that I wish it was longer, but for what it is it's a totally serviceable length and the main campaign practically serves to introduce you to the different playgrounds of the game.

Not that I don't think this can be it's own thing, but it'd just be really cool to see the setting expanded upon outside of matches of Lethal League.

Imagine if like, there's the actual Lethal League characters in it too. Like, it doesn't have to be big, but if they don't do anything big, it would be super cool to see like, when you're skating at certain parts, it connects to areas from Lethal League Blaze, or at least have one location that nods / is a place from Lethal League Blaze seeing how its the same universe. Like, you can see Raptor and Sonata playing a game in the background while you grind and skate. Or be able to actually go to certain locations that were also present in Lethal League: Blaze, like the main city streets, and even go so far to interact with the same characters, like once or twice, or see them at some point. Or at least, be able to see them as background NPCs while you skate. I hope the cast from Blaze gets some moments in this new game honestly, im just so hyped, since I just recently got it.

@Otneimica There was a brand of sneakers made in the late 90s to mid 2000s known as Soap Shoes, they had hard plastic trenches in the soles so that you could use them to grind on rails, Sonic's shoes in Sonic Adventure 2 are Soap Shoes, and the game has Soap ads all over it.
@Otneimica Soaping shoes are shoes literally made for grinding on rails and the like with. They were somewhat of a lesser known fad in the late 90's - early 2000's.
Soap is the name of the brand that made the shoes.

Wild to think that after 3 years with everyone awaiting to see more ever since this first trailer, we finally got it...and even crazier to think that so many surprises awaited between this one trailer and music and the final release with so many good stuff revealed out of the box. With how many projects have easily went under after a promising initial reveal, its such a joy that this one made it to the finish line :)

I've watched this clip too many times already and it's literally only 14 seconds long. Hell, I made my mind up during the first second, I'm gonna pre-order this if it ever makes it's way to consoles.
I still have my original Xbox along with JSRF so I can always replay it, but we need more games with the same aesthetic and vibe. Ever since I played the first Lethal League, I've wanted something like this from you guys, you've got the style down. One of the areas shown in this video looks like Shibuya Terminal from JSRF, right down to the staircases.
I'm gonna be all over this when it's released, hopefully on a console, and you bet your funky ass I'll be putting the entire soundtrack on my phone too, with the rest of Naganuma's work.
SEGA: "There are JSR fans in my house. What do I do?"

@@AegixDrakan You know, normally I try to ignore these uncreative "quote" comments (no offense), but this really made me smile. Sega has ignored us for so long that the fans are making this game, and it will hopefully sell really well. Reptile Games is truly eating Segas lunch right now and it is glorious!
Apparently the reason why they stopped making jet set was according the lead designer kazuki hosokawa was that he and the team were too experienced and old to make a game that capture the same feel that he believe jet set should and that if a new game were to be made it would need to come from a new team
@@pormpfspimperton6804 I've heard about this too. I can understand how Hosokawa feels what JSR ought to be...but I can't help but feel just hiring talent familiar w/h the series couldn't have fixed this issue (look at Mania, y'know?)
Can't help but feel there is a community of people dedicated enough to this franchise that they learned the ins and outs of the game's design, just like Sonic's fans did.

I can't think of the last teaser that I was hyped enough to go through frame by frame, but I guess now this has that honor.
I was literally, just the other day, thinking "It's been 20 years, and that seems just about right for the "I grew up playing this, we need more" crowd to be working on games now".

Damn straight. Check out JSRFMP on pc. Built from the ground up recreation of JSRF by fans, but with online multiplayer added.
making games is such a tough endeavour, this trailer is 3 years old and they had already nailed almost everything on the visual style and a lot of the gameplay, yet 3 more years of working were needed, the game released with mirror sheen polish with barely an issue pressent so yeah those +3 years of dev really paid of, I wonder how long were they working on it by the time this teaser launched even.
Finally, after 3 years of development, Hopefully, it has been really worth the wait.

It appears a lot more open which honestly, kinda wish to see this map come back in some form.
Most interesting bit in this video to me is that you see them grind without skates/board/bike, which you can't do in the final game without modding

- Been homeless
- Dated 7 girls
- Changed jobs 7 times
- Gotten married
- Gotten a mortgage
- Owned 3 dogs
- Moved to a different state
- Watched my mom die of cancer...
All I ever wanted was a sequel to JSRF, but now that I'm an adult with no free time, I just want to be a teenager again and play this game; if even for a day.
Those days just don't come back.

Technically this is jet powered soaping. Soaping was essentially grinding on rails and such but with special made shoes that mimicked the divot in extreme roller blades (the kind which are easiest to grind on).
The reason why it was called soaping is because the company that made the specialty shoes was called Soap.

FINALLY AFTER SO LONG! For YEARS I've waited for someone to take Jet Set Radio's 'torch' and bring about a new game, though I'll miss not being able to see the old JSR/F characters in newer JSR games, as SEGA has ruined that by how long they've postponed even remastering them, these characters look familiarly similar and nostalgic enough for me to avert to a new title! Can't wait to see some gameplay! Thanks Team Reptile!!

I will never forget my impression on very first jet set radio on Dreamcast. One of my favorite games of all time. Im so happy i see a successor even from other developer. If this delivers im sold.

Thank you. Jet Set Radio was what made me appreciate games as art, and it's had the single biggest impact on me as a gamer and a would-be game designer. I have not yet been able to get past the difficulty hurdle of trying to figure out how to program the gameplay elements of this type of game, but it sure is nice to see that someone else was able, and wanted to, make this. Hopefully one day I can make my vision, until then, I'll play yours. You have a guaranteed buyer here, just because you did it. And you got Naganuma sensei! Amazing!
First Bug Fables and now this, I’ve never played a JSR but I’m so excited for this and maybe sooner or later in the future Indies will dominate the whole gaming Market or replace franchises that we loved playing while growing up, well R.I.P Sega you got served.
