    A few years late but, to train your bow, there's some sheep in Rattay around the area where you can practice with captain Bernard. You can kill the sheep over and over, just run into the city and come back and they respawn. I usually run to where the blacksmith is and back. Make sure to loot your arrows back from the sheep. You have to stay some distance from the sheep otherwise they run, so try to keep them all together its a lot easier. Not only does this level your bow, but also strength, vitality, agility, hunting and your main level. So you'll level up a bunch of stats at once. Also once you get your hunting up, there's a perk that makes wild animals less skittish and that makes this method even easier as you can now be right up close to the sheep. Lastly this is on ps4 so I don't know if it'll work on pc, Xbox.

    When training with Captain Bernard, get a long term room at the Inn east of the training grounds. As the Capt will beat you up severely you can go there to sleep & recover your health. Saves you a long trip through town or back down to the mill. Also learn to brew Marigold Potions and make a bunch of them. So you can heal back up without having to go to sleep.
    Repair all your equipped equipment after every fight and don't forget to check your horse's equipment also. You'll have to carry all the repair kits and as many as you can afford. Carry extras on your horse if you need the carry weight.
    Later in the game get rooms at all the Inns. Then when you're overburdened you only have to get to the nearest Inn to unload to your chest.

    8:36 small tip there, there's a perk in the 'Speech' skill tree called Troubadour that makes it so bathwench is free! Bathwench service is AWESOME, it's basically the same as the "full service bath" (i.e. heals and cleans YOU up, and launders your clothes as well as saves the game) with the +2 Charisma effect afterward (the difference, for me at least, was 10g between full service and bathwench)...the troubadour skill makes it so it's completely FREE (afaik)...it's not TOO expensive to begin with, but making it FREE means i'm doing it WAY more often than before.

    I found that one of the best ways to level up warfare, (weapon of your choice), defense, stealth, horsemanship, and maintenance in the SAME ACTIVITY. All that you need to do is begin clearing out the bandit camps Around rat today for Bernard. You will be able to get into fights, you can alternatively sneak up to the camp and spook the horses or poison them, collect any gear worth selling and collect the bandit ears as trophies. Doing this enough will unlock the same activity in Sasau where you will be paid 625 gold per each bandit year that you could bring him. So save all of your bandit ears for von Burg And I ended up with 13,000 gold at the end of about two hours of playing. You’ll be taking a lot of damage so bring or more kits and blacksmith kits to repair your items which will increase that skill. Looting the corpses in the final stages of this activity will give you plate armors and weapons that can be sold for over 1.5k each. I kept several myself. And in between all of this you need to be on your horse moving from target to target so your horsemanship will increase as well.

    As others have mentioned hunting is by far the fastest and easiest money making method. In the woods to the west/northwest about 3/5 th of the way between Rattay and Vranik/Sasau is a boar hunting spot. There are two boar there. With decent bow and arrows you can one shot them and the amount of meat will overload your horse and possibly you depending how good a horse and saddle you have. Take this back to miller and cook it on the fire in the house. Then sell it at either the taverns or the meat merchant or grocer or regular merchants or miller in Rattay. 2 boars worth of cooked meat sell for over 3k. Just sell it all to one merchant to clean them out up rep and get them to have a larger cash pool when next you do it. because its so close and gives so much money and is easy i think its faster then other methods ive seen that involve risky stuff like robbing sword shops. Also the more you cook a type of meat the higher quality cooked goods you get from it and the more money it makes.
    Once a merchant replenishes there cash after a couple days you can make 3k+ in less then a few minutes doing this without any repercussions or risk or dealing in stolen goods since cooked meat doesn't count as stolen.

    • @oLawlieto
      @oLawlieto Před 6 lety +4

      Or you could pickpocket the traders for their keys (alt. gitgud at lockpicking) and just steal the money from a chest in the back. All indoors traders store their all their money and goods in 1 box. Fun fact, there is actually a box in the game that is linked to your horse inventory and its in Rattay.

    • @orztaku
      @orztaku Před 6 lety +5

      ya, hunting is bullshit. So is fighting any enemies. All you loot from hunting is flagged as stolen and the meat will spoil, loot from enemies usually damaged ... and it all has weight. Next is not every merchant buys all stuff. The armorer will never buy your weapons or pelts and so on. So you spent 60mins fighting/poaching , then another 30mins limping to town and from merchant to merchant overburdened to sell and you still get hampered by most merchants only having paltry sums of Groschen.
      Better way: right after reaching Rattay you steal the keys or lockpick your way into the armorers house and you have +2ooo Groschen .... takes like 5minutes.
      You can steal from almost every merchant. You have to lockpick their chest every single time (lockpicking XP) or get the keys and get your payment everytime you come to town ...

    • @Schugger1
      @Schugger1 Před 6 lety +12

      ok, to avoid not being to sell poached food, just cook it at the next fire/hearth and it brcomes a new item in your inventory which you could sell everywhere.

    • @orztaku
      @orztaku Před 6 lety +2

      wasn't even the problem. It's still flagged stolen until you find a fire, which may cause problems. Can't cook the fur. It still weighs a lot (for it's worth). The meat still spoils (even when cooked).
      Not all merchants buy meat/foot/pelts and lastly merchants have limited groschen.
      All in all you spent like 1hr+ for some hundred groschen ... when you can make the same (or more) with 5mins lockpicking/pickpocketing/trespassing.
      If you don't feel like becoming a criminal, then you can always hunt down the treasures, each giving decent amounts of groschen + some good gear (which often sells for like 1k+ a piece).
      On a sidenote: at least they seem to have finally fixed that the arrows you loot from your prey are no longer flagged as stolen as well ...

    • @Schugger1
      @Schugger1 Před 6 lety +11

      All true orztaku, but there are a good deal of players who don't want to take the roll of a rogue and don#t care about the fast Groschen. As soon as you enter midgame you won't have any financial problems anyway. Late game I only checked corpses for stuff I couldn#t purchase by any vendor. I ended by none-rogue playtrhough with about 45k Groschen in my chest and about 25k Groschen in my pocket.

    A really good way to level pickpocket. When you find one of the random instances where guards, cuman, or bandits are fighting and some people are tied up. If the person tied up is a cuman or bandit the guards do not care if you pickpocket then. Each one tends to have 3-5 items to take. Them being tied up makes it very easy to pickpocket then as well.

One note on that, for the +2 Charisma boost, you need 30 units of any (tested on Poppy, Dandelion, Chamomile, Marigold, Verbanium, Sage, St John's Wart, and Nettle) herb in your inventory, Nettle is best as it weighs the least (0.1) for 3 pounds total weight. Hope that helps and saves confusion. Keep up the awesome videos, cheers.

    One of my favorite methods is in the first village, pick every single flower. With these, you can buy a lot of good repair kits before the game really starts. In my opinion, you want to get the "Leg Day" pirk as early as possible so that whenever you are picking, you are getting a little strength at the same time. Because the str points are so low (1 point per pick), it makes sense to get it early so it is almost an after thought while you are playing through the game.

    Btw, to each his own, but for me the only way to play a game is to role play it. So yes, I might want to practice lockpicking on the miller's chest because you could do this 'in reality', but attacking an unkillable npc over and over to artificially raise my stats? Nope, ruins the game.

      In reality, you absolutely would do a bunch of practicing before doing something for real. No way would you be going out and trying to kill bandits after five minutes of practicing. If you had a master to practice with, you'd be doing that shit for weeks before you thought about risking your life. And you'd want to practice lockpicking a lot before trying it for real, too. This is one area where roleplaying and cheesing are pretty much the same thing.

    lockpicking is easy, all you need is 100+ lockpicks and a decent stealth gear. After that all you need to do is to go around and unlock peoples houses at night, most village doors are very easy or easy. Once you've unlocked the doors, go in and wake up any person in the house and make them close the doors again. once they have gone back to sleep unlock all the doors again.. For hunting you can also level it by killing sheep, cows, horses, chickens and dogs with a bow.. doesn't have to be wild game. You can start leveling herbalism as soon as you start the game in the first village by picking nettles and they are very close to eachother.. For pickpocketing, just go in to a village and steal 1 item at the time from people when they are sleeping. Once you get high enough skill level you can do it with sleeping guards aswell. And for reading, according to 1 of its perks you can also level reading by reading shrines and graves stones.

      "All you need is 100+ lockpicks". That must be the lousiest advice given ever. If you start you can hardly afford one lockpick. Just practice on the chest behind the Mill. It will be difficult in the beginning (with a controller), I had to practice a lot before mastering it. But after a while even the very hard ones are easy, just keep practicing.

    You can train lockpicking on the chest the Miller first introduces you to it on behind the Miller's house near Rattay. You pick it, open it, close it, walk around the corner and out of sight of it and go back. It's easy or very easy, but for the first 5-6 levels you can raise it much more quickly early on and with nearly zero chance of being caught.

Its maybe worth doing as the clock hasn't started in game so you can get the skill for no time investment. Best way to upgrade Lockpicking at early levels (1-5) - is 2 houses West of Rattay entrance, directly South from Bathhouses - during night they are locked with "Very Easy" locks. Open them, come to owners, wake them up with talk, exit house. They will lock it again. Repeat. After level 5 - you can learn the same way, but find places with harder locks (i.e. inside Rattay TownHall people are also sleeping but there are both Hard and Very Hard locks). You will require 11-13 lvl in Lockpicking for Very Hard locks though. Regarding Herbalism - if you pick 150-200 of Nettle - it will give PERMANENT +2 Vitality for the rest of the game (Hidden Perk). Perk +2 Charisma from Herbs available at level 5 - will start working if you have 30 herbs in inventory (i.e. Sage), 29 will not work.

      @Andrew G has nothing to do about being a pussy.. Hell I've unlocked VH locks on level 1.. For grinding purpose / fast leveling.. Hard and VH locks are useless to use for just that reason.. • @oLawlieto
      @oLawlieto Před 6 lety +1

    • @oLawlieto

      The doors you say reset "after a bit" only gets re-locked if an NPC opens and close it again. If an NPC never access a locked door or chest that you have unlocked, it will never get re-locked again. so your claim is false.
      And again this is for skill level grinding purposes not for casual gaming.. So I really don't understand why you even bother commenting on a video made for that purpose.. I guess you just wanted to brag about being able to unlock Very hard locks at lvl 6, even tho the locks themself are RNG and can all be unlocked at lvl 1.

      Most useful comment in the whole section. Why grind away for hours to have all your stats on highest level, have the most money and so on, just to play the rest of the game on very easy mode?? Just play however you like and you will gradually get better at all the things you like doing in the game... I see no point in grinding all those stats, just to use that one skill the few times you'll need it. Investing so many hours into grinding instead of just playing the game (sidequesting, RPing, etc.) is unreasonable, to put it mildly.

    For Lockpicking - when you get your first lockpick traning from a Peshek(I have no idea what is his English name) you can pick traning chest several times(pick it, open it, look to another direction and repeat the process) this chest will runs out after you raise your picking skill to 3 or 4 which is nice start.

    super easy way to train reading is after you learned it through the quest, sneak into the Rattay Town Hall and the Sasau Monestary Library and steal all lore books (NOT skill books that train a skill and at least one copy of each, getting/reading duplicates doesn't advance your reading skill) and then go to one of your beds where you have the best bonus on reading and just flip through all of the lore books once. Other than skill books you don't have to take hours to study them, just choose a book from your inventory, flip through the pages and then move on to the next. This also works for all Treasure Maps, they also count towards reading. That way you get your reading to around lvl 10-12 in no time.

If you're feeling risky you can go inside and start picking chests too.

    I train sneaking, lockpicking and pickpocketing all at the same time. Wait until night in smaller hamlets with less guards. Most housing has easy or very easy locks to pick, and maybe 2 rooms with 1 to 2 people sleeping in them. You can pick door locks in the homes as well as chests. You can then pick a pocket, sneak to the next room, pick another pocket and just go back and forth. You dont even need to steal anything when you pick a pocket. You just need to start the minigame, then remove your hand from their pocket.
    I tend to train drinking and reading at the same time. You can overeat with alcohol while you are sitting on your bed or in your room, then read for 2-4 hours. Finish the book, and drink some more. Just be careful about blacking out. I know you get robbed if you black out, but I dont know if that happens when you are in your own room.

      Up, it was the same for me, just recently started playing and i was completely dumbfounded when i saw the lockpicking-method.
      Bring used to Fallout and Skyrim, this was a completely different scenario.
      But, grinding it out, training with miller Peshek and taking the right perk-skills kinda loosened it up;
      Now i'm picking Very Hard locks and hardly breaking a sweat! 👍🤓👍

    More tips:
    Str: str based melee weapons and fight at any given opportunity (I recommend focusing on long swords as St. George's Sword is OP later on)
    Agi: agi based swords and bows and fight or poach at any given opportunity (gather arrows from bandits or the game, if possible get stats high enough for cuman bow - it has nice thread bars that help with aiming)
    Vit: sprint/jump/vault everywhere, general depletion of vitality bar (you can hold arrows and RMB to put them aside)
    Spe: use every possible speech option, question NPCs, haggle for lots of money (combine silver tongue with final offer - you can lower the haggle near to the minimum then settle for final offer), if possible trade with specialists ie. sell food to Inn keepers or game (once a bit spoiled and not 'stolen') to butchers, weapons to arms smiths etc.
    Def: wear heavy armor & shield and block/parry/absord lots of damage - it goes really fast by itself
    War: deal lots of dmg to humans by combat (stealth kills/KO doesn't count, game doesn't count)
    Any weapon: use any weapon and fight with it (for bows I recommend logs game in Ledechko, v. easy 50g every win)
    Alch: youtu .be/pZInG91VwvI I gave a comment there
    Drink: drink XD
    Herb: farm everything, neddles preferred as a hidden perk will give you +2 vit, most herbs on fields near monastery
    Horse: no fast travel, ride horses XD
    Hound: spam good boy dialogue - 20 minutes of keyboard bashing
    Hunt: poach - you get XP by killing and looting game separately
    Locks: find a guide xD remember to open every v. easy lock encountered
    Maintenance: sharpen swords before selling them, if possible buy or steal repair kits and waste them everywhere
    Pickpocket: spam Peszek to lvl 5, get crowd control & easy way out to make it easier, steal from sleeping beggars, you can steal multiple items at once by timer cost, later on you will love it: pay trainers for skill levels ie. 1,5k for masters and then take it back - huge amount of $ stolen = tons of XP
    Read: buy/steal books and open them, perform a quest for it, remember to get guides and study them to boots other skills
    Stealf: stealf xD if you are one of the AFK goofers you can clamp your W key somehow and sneak into a wall nearby enemies or in guarded areas - just go into a house and bump into a wall etc.

      More more tips:
      Remember that every skill has cap of 20, no matter if base or with buffs/perks.
      Meaning that once you reach basic ie. 20 str perk Brute will not give you anything but still apply penalties of -1 spe -1 cha.
      Later in the game remember to reset your skills with a reset potion (forgot name) and to ignore perks that give you useless bonuses (due to cap) in exchange for penalties (ie. Brute, local hero).

    For lockpicking, go to the Monastery, on each level of the scaffolds are 'Easy' chests. I think there are about 6+. Directly across the street from where the wounded from Skalitz are being treated.

    The miller in rattay has a chest je initially trains you on for lockpicking. This can be lockpicked repeatedly by opening it, then stepping back, it will close by itself, then you can approach it and lockpick it again. I raised my lockpicking to 12 in about an hour or two

  • @Matt-su5js

    Updated method since most methods were patched: Fight Bernard with real weapons. When fight is over train the "learn combos". He will completely heal you and it's a real quick training. Then go back to fighting with real weapons. Rinse and repeat. Then you can equip better weapons and easily hunt from horseback right off the trail in numerous spots. That covers, strength, agility, warfare, defense, whatever weapons you want. The hunting gets your bow skill up much easier than that chumps game I found which did me no good at all. Then for lockpicking go to the scribes house. Balcony door. Unlock hard door, bump into person on bench to wake them up, run away, come back after maybe 1 minute and it's locked again. That covers about everything but stealth.

    For hunting, boars are the best way to level up quickly. If you’re near a boar hunting spot there are usually 3-5 of them. if you find a deer spot nearby you can travel between the two and clear them out repeatedly.

    Protip : if you untarget and look down at people's shoes when fighting and swing as you move into range they never seem to block. I cut down 4 plated dudes in 1-2 swings each once I got St. Michael's Sword from the Rattay swordsmith. It is definitely a cheese method I try to only use if I'm about to lose but when you're just farming bandits just chop em up.

    Training maintenance is second only to herbalism in ease to train. You only need one sword, any sword will do. The grinding wheel can damage blades as well as sharpening them. In Rat I got a hunting sword of some bandit and then proceeded to grind the edge off "angle for black smoke" and resharpen the same sword until my maintenance skill was high enough to make repair kits useful (i.e. allowing you to repair anything over 70% back to full).

      An even faster method if you have plenty of money already, is to load up on damaged armor / weapons / clothing from bandits, etc., and buy a bunch of repair kits to spam them all to fully repaired. Early on your skill won't be high enough to repair things even halfway damaged useful with kits, but once you start going, it immensely outpaces sitting down at a grinding wheel.

      It maxes at 20 and that lets you do 60 and up. I would guess the thinking is that if you want max gold for your loot you need to kill quickly without overly damaging the enemies gear, and your own gear should be fixed every 3 fights or so. Oh and avoid the gear damage perks, if your good then you don't need them to will fights and all they do is lower the groshen you get from loot.

      Now I've only done a little smithing myself, but you would end up with a dagger with very low temper if you tried that in reality. Surely the devs haven't missed that opportunity.

    To level up lockpicking, just go to any shop at night time where they have a hard lock at the main door and keep practicing. Once unlocked, go to their room and wake them up they will come after you and close the main door so its locked again. Keep doing it again and again. Once you get skilled enough, you will unlock the door even before they go back to their room so leveling up will become a lot faster.

  • @Shadic24367

    Best way to level stealth is at the beginning of the game in Skalitz, make sure you start off picking both strength options, knock out the guy near the hay (very hard to get caught) then go gather all the plants in the town, once you're full, put it all in the chest at home, knock out the guy again, herbs again, rinse repeat, then you can vault over stuff, if you get hungry you can sell some of the herbs, if you wanna level speech sell em one at a time and haggle for each one, buy food, haggle that too

  • @Maverick-7508
    @Maverick-7508 Před 6 lety +1

    BTW, for the maintenance skill you can grind down and re-hone blades to exp grind. This is repeatable and does no permanent damage to the blade.

    I saw this somewhere else and I'll pass it on here. Alchemy, Lulabye Potion + Arrows= Sleeping targets that can be pickpocketed.
    Also, allows you to take out harder targets.
    If I remember right, one potion does l 5 arrows, and they can and should be recovered and reused.

  • @CombatJak
    @CombatJak Před 6 lety +2

    Sorry but this is going to be a bit long-winded. For early stealth levels you can go to the bath house near the Miller's Place at Rattay at night. The door by the river stays unlocked or at least it did for me. Go in there and there are two people upstairs to knock out in their sleep. You can take their keys and hit the building directly across from that one where there are four more people sleeping. Once they wake up they will all switch beds and go back to sleep and you can do it again. Also since it is so close to the Miller you can go to sleep for an hour to save in between. I think this got me from Level 2 to level 8 in 1 in-game night.

  • @solokom
    @solokom Před rokem +1

    *Hunting is a very fast way to earn money.* Go to the Area where you were hunting with Sir Capon. There are Roe deer, boar, and Red deer hunting areas close to each other. Boar brings the most Gold by weight. Hunt as much as you can carry. Use the horse to get as fast to Uzhitz as possible. Meat spoils fast and that lowers its value. Go to the Tavern in Uzhitz first to cook the meat and get rid of the “stolen” tag. Then go to the trader in Uzhitz. He usually has a lot of money (1-2K) and if you are on good terms with him and have a decent reputation in Uzhitz, you can earn 600-700 Groschen in one trip. Hunting and selling meat gets significantly easier and more profitable when you use Hunting perks like "Tanner" for the extra coin selling the skin, "Wild at Heart" so game doesn't run away so easily and "Salty", so meat doesn't spoil so fast. That way, you can afford decent equipment in no time.

    I just got this game and leveled locking picking to 15 so I could do very hard locks and rob merchant's. Fastest way I found was just unlock everyone's doors (making sure no one sees you). I would unlock the door then walk in the door way whistle or jump then walk back out 9/10 a person would get up to see what I was doing then just leave the houses "area" be it to the fence or just to the main road and they will go back inside and lock the door behind them. You then just rinse and repeat. Note you can only do this 2 to 3 times per house before they call the guards and it affects your reputation so just go from house to house. I did 2 to 3 cities a night and had level 15 in about 2 days, 5-6 hours playing a day.
