  • What can old dogs teach us about human aging and cancer? Dr. David Waters wittily shows us how getting "out of the laboratory and into the living room" allowed him to make a ground-breaking discovery in very old dogs that could hold important implications for new and effective cancer treatments in people.
Dr. Waters is Professor of Oncology at Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine and is nationally recognized for his research on dogs as models of human aging and the comparative aspects of cancer in humans and dogs. Dr. Waters is also Associate Director of the Purdue Center on Aging and the Life Course.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
