Thank you for this, very much! Your videos are my favorite, pre-Derby watching. Sierra Leone is extremely strong and beautiful! Out of this world beautiful! I love the way they handled him during his wash down. Not liking the way she handled ‘Catching Freedom’ during the wash down at all! I also believe everyone who touches the horse in any way, matters leading up to the race.

Yeah Catching Freedom didn’t deserve the yanking. He was being good, just curious. Now Sierra Leone seemed about to kick and bite, and they handled him well I think. I’m not a horse person though.
Yeah, that jerking hard over and over of his head and neck. She’s lucky the horse didn’t get aggressive.
Just an observer of someone treating an animal that was very aggressive. Tugging and yanking for no reason that I could see. But very disturbing nonetheless.

You all just bet the horse and have fun. I took him out of my top two.. after race in bluegrass I saw three things I didnt like and let's hope I'm wrong..

Have you noticed any behavior that would make any of the horses stand out. Not so much speed figures just personality wise. We all know the numbers at this point in the game.

It’s essentially acts as a pacifier. You want him to relax and stand still while he’s getting bathed so you give him something to suck on and pay attention to so that he doesn’t move much.

I'm trying to learn as much as possible about those things. I've been watching horse racing all my life. I absolutely love horses. I just git back from a trip there 1 month ago. Seen the museum and did the tour at Churchill. Went to old friends and fed silver charm. Stayed in a b and b right by claiborn. Went there and saw blame, run happy etc. I know a l9t but don't know a lot too lol.
It doesn't hurt them. He is very well mannered compared to most colts, Its not that he bites necessarily.It's for the groom and horses protection.. He's a young colt still and when they have haven't been gelded, ( Means still have they're balls. Nearly all colts tens to get quite rowdy. It's just a slight pressure and prevents him from getting the leverage to strike with the front hooves or biting too. Horses also don't see as we do. Anything a horse sees looks to them like its 10-20 tumes it's actual size so they get nervous very easy. Also they're senses are heightened substantially compared to ours. So they hear the slightest sounds and feel the lightest touch. That on top of anxiety from only being outside their stall for about 1-2 hours in the morning to train and groom, and then Possibly 30 minutes to an hour in the afternoon.
