@@ArmSoar I am trying to gauge the benefits of the Twin X vs. The X18...the last radio I owned was an analog crystal Futaba so I am basically starting anew. I primarily have flown powered fixed wing and want to do headtracked FPV flying now that it's affordable. Since the two radios are so similar in price, it makes the decision more difficult to choose. Any guidance?
Is the output adjusttable on the x20 pro like the.module or the module on the pro would still be a tw upgrade? My buddy has one on his
I'll preface my comment by saying I have not been following comments on the newer Ethos OS radios on RCG or elsewhere. I am quite disappointed in FrSky for only making the new Twin system RF link compatible with Ethos radios only. There are many pilots besides myself who have made investments in multiple FrSky radios using Open Tx. At this time we are SOL on being able to utilize the Twin system. I liken this to the many complaints FrSky received when the first Open Tx radios did not accommodate the older ACCST protocol. After much grumbling and foot stomping, that issue was resolved. Have you heard anything about FrSky making any accommodations for those of us using Open Tx radios to be able to utilize the Twin technology?
Hey Ken, this is something I've heard from a couple of customers, but as far as I know, FrSky does not have any plans to bring Twin to OpenTX (or any other platforms).
I wouldn't have thought they could as it would require a new rf module for the transmitter if I am correctly interpreting your comment. That would mean whole new internals for all the old transmitters.
I decided to buy the twin x lite after watching the video. I want to use it on my glider. Please recommend a small and safe 6-channel receiver.
The FrSky Twin GR6 is Twin R6 are both great, depending on whether you'd like a variometer or not, respectively.
What do you think of the new Twin X Lite?
i cannot seem to fit the module to my tx20s,,,it just will not click all the way down to the bottom of the slot....any tips to make it fit? ..thanks
Can you at some point show some pics of holding it with the button for the DLG launch being used? How comfortable is that on the Twin X-Lite(s) compared to the x-lite pro?
Hey, check out 4:40, my index finger is on the launch button. It's better on the Twin X Lite as the button is larger and more pronounced than the old X Lite Pro.

I have used mine for about 8 months now and love it. TW receivers work really well with them for extended range. I really like the Ethos programming OS. Similar to raw power of OpenTX with some builtin mixes if you want to go the more traditional route and/or mix between the two. The button for DLG launch is perfect. I really like that I can get to all the switches and buttons without moving my hand from their default hold while flying. Trims do take some time to get used though with them being inset. Always get the S model though for it's brighter display in daylight.

How does the gimbal feel?
Use two fingers. The x lite pro was too soft and the stick end was thin, so I needed to adjust the spring tension separately.
I want to use it exclusively for dlg, but is the cross key trim comfortable?
The trim keys are okay, much better than the X Lite Pro. Gimbal is still a bit soft, I made mine tighter by shortening the spring in the gimbals.

The Twin X Lite supports ELRS.
if it was 5 years ago I might have gotten a Taranis
but now with the TX16S and EdgeTX, Crossfire, ELRS (with Vario Rx's), ...
no need to go with a closed system
I think every system has its place; from my own experience in helping with customers, EthOS is much more straight forward and easier to learn for many people, and ELRS can be a learning curve as well.

24 high resolution channels, FBUS, SBUS, superior telemetry, stabilized receivers, but yeah, you do you boo.
I know it's open source but isn't it still a closed system. Radiomaster/Jumper are the only ones doing edgetx and elrs for aircraft so it still seems a propriety system. It's not as if Jeti, Futaba, Multiplex and Dpecteum are on board?
Frsky has decided they no longer need the FPV market. I guess they are happier with the soaring market. Their choice. I've had Frsky radios for 10 years and still fly with an XLite for 5 years now, however I just ordered a Radiomaster Pocket and bunch of ELRS stuff like every one of my FPV buddies did before me. I am also into a little DLG soaring too, so not going to mothball the XLite. I'd love to have this Twin Xlite with the bigger screen if it had OpenTX or Edge, but I cannot fathom changing to Ethos.
