- අවුරුදු 160 ක් කිසිම ලෙඩක් නැතුව ජීවත් වූ බක්කුල මහ රහතන් වහන්සේ ගැන ඔයාල අහල තියනවද? අද අපි ඔයාලට පෙන්නන්නේ බක්කුල මහ රහතන් වහන්සේ වෙනුවෙන් ඉදිකල ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ එකම සෑය ගැනයි.
බක්කුල මහා සෑය පිහිටා ඇත්තේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ බස්නාහිර පළාතේ කළුතර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ හොරණ ප්‍රදේශයේය. උසින් අඩි 130 පමණ වූ මෙම ස්ථුපය බුබ්බුලාකාර හැඩයෙන් තමයි සාදව තියෙන්නෙ. මෙම බක්කුල මහා සෑය ඉදිකර ඇත්තේ ගලිගමුවේ ඤනදීප හිමියන්ගේ සංකල්පයකට අනුවයි.
මෙම ස්ථුපයේ ඇති විශේෂත්වය වන්නේ ස්ථුපය මධ්‍යයේ ශ්‍රී මහා බෝධියේ අනුරුවක් ඉදිකර තිබීමයි. තවද බෝධිය වටා මහ රහතන් වහන්සේ 89 දෙනෙකුගේ ප්‍රතිමා නිර් මාණය කර තිබීමයි. මෙහි අඩි 7 පමණ උසකින් යුතු කරඬුවක් තැන්පත් කරල තියනව. මෙම කරඬුව තුල ගෞතම බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ සර්වඥ ධාතු සහ කේශ ධාතු තැන්පත් කර ඇති බව සඳහන් වෙනව. තවද තායිලන්තයෙන් වැඩමවූ බක්කුල මහ රහතන් වහන්සේගේ සහ සීවලී තෙරුන්ගේ ධාතුන් වහන්සේ මෙහි තැන්පත් කර ඇති බව සඳහන් වෙනව.
ඔයාලට ස්ථුපයේ පළමු මහලේදී බක්කුල මහ රහතන් වහන්සේගේ ජීවිත කතාව සිතුවම් ලෙස දැකබලා ගන්න පුළුවන්. තවද බක්කුල මහා සැය වඳින්න එන ඔයාලට තවත් පුණ්‍ය දායකත්වයක් ලබාදීමට හැකියාවක් ලැබෙනවා, ඒ තමයි මෙහි පසෙකින් පිහිටුවා ඇති "ශීල සුව අරණ ගිලන් භික්ෂු රෝහල" සඳහා පින් කැමති අයට දායකත්වය ලබාදෙන්නත් හැකිවීම.

Bakkula Maha Saya is located in the Horana area of Kalutara District in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. This stupa, which is about 130 feet in height, is made in the shape of a bubble (bubbulakara). This Bakkula Maha Saya was built according to the concept of Galigamuwe Gnanadeepa Thero.
The specialty of this Stupa is that a replica of Sri Maha Bodhi has been built in the center of the Stupa. The statues of 89 Maharahats have been carved around the Bodhi. A casket with a height of about 7 feet is placed here. It is said that Gautama Buddha's omniscience relics and Kesha relics are buried in this casket. It is also mentioned that the remains of Bakkula Arahath Thero and Sivali Therun, who came from Thailand, are buried here.
On the first floor of the stupa, you can see the life story of Bakkula Arahath Thero in the form of paintings.
