I love this band alot because I like concept/story albums and they do that exclusively. Their drummer writes the lyrics and the stories, and he's really passionate about telling the stories. They count themselves as fantasy-core. This song's off the album "Valley of Kings", which tells the story of a group of would-be heroes who are on a quest to destroy relics of an ancient evil who was the main villain in one of their previous albums. This song details the start of their journey where they all swear a blood oath to each other to see the quest to its completion. They remind me a little bit like As I Lay Dying, really awesome metal core with two different types of singers with heavy grooves. Scar Symmetry is also similar with two different singers that are incredible.
Sorry, my humble opinion: not very innovative standard metalcore. Doesn’t impress me much. If you are looking for a great metalcore band I suggest to turn your eyes towards Japan again - sorry folks - and check out Crystal Lake e.g. and feel the difference. Or if you wanna have a way more innovative and diverse female version of this genre, check out Hanabie from … well I guess you already assume from where 😊
@@RyanMear I don't like music like this just because it isn't my thing. I think it is more accurate to say what BROJOB does is ironic more than sarcastic. I am a big fan of both however. To my unsophisticated ear, most if not all metal core/death core sounds pretty much the same. It's just funny to me seeing metal core bands trying to look and sound scary and serious when BROJOB is singing about a micro pen!5.

I can't take a band like this seriously when bands like BROJOB exist...and don't take themselves seriosly at all.
