Literally saved me so much time, thank you so much!!
You really clamped down on that squeegee. I wet my fingers in Ilfotol and light run film thru them to knock down majority of liquid residue...
Good video
Hey oh! I see you sportin them stickers on the channel! Thanks man. The vid was great. I didn't even realize that ilford had a wetting agent. Ill have to check it out after I run out of my ages old photoflo. haha
hey man the stickers make a nice addition :D To be honest i hadn't heard of photoflo when i had bought the chemicals so i just stuck the brand i knew and my mum could advise me in
With wetting agents they are are nearly the same. It looks like the ilford version would nearly last you a lifetime. They give you so much!
Hi nice video I am just starting out and it will be starting with Kodak professional hc-110 and Roxinal can you do a video on that?
Thank you. It's helpful. :)
Good idea mixing your chemistry in 1 ltr bottles. Long time since Dumbpanzygaming. Good to see more people shooting Film.
hey! nice video! how many time you re-use your developer?
Do you reuse the ddx?
Was your fiver dilutions the same as the developer?
I have a quick question about the ilford rapid fixer.
Dilute it 1 to 4 ratio, how many times can you use it ?
Its not a one spot is it or can you get a few rolls out of it ?
I shoot 35mm
Cheers in advance
Stig
After diluting 1 to 4 I will usually reuse the fixer to about 8-10 rolls
The main indicator is you will notice your negatives will be slightly purple, it's nothing to worry about if they are but that is when it's time to refresh the chems
Nice one man...
Top channel .... I just subscribed
hey Garth great video I've just bought all the Ilford chemicals to develop my own film . quick question does the developer/stop and fix all have to be the same temp ???
to be honest i dont measure temperature anymore because my room is usually around 20C anyway i and i just use timings for that and it all works fine :)
Only time measuring temps is SUPER important is if your developing your own c41 or E6
Matthew Lymer hey, I usually try to have my stop and fix chemicals somewhere around 18-25 degree, if it's too cold it'll take longer to fix the film, if it's too hot it can even damage the film.
Murphys Film thanks Garth I'll have a go this weekend . fingers crossed 🖒🖒
dieser Dude thanks for the info the temp doesn't seem as crucial as I've been telling myself so feel a lot more comfortable having a go now .cheers 🖒🖒
+Matthew Lymer honest it's fine as I say it's not really as important for black and white have fun looking forward to seeing results of your first go 👍
Is the DDx reusable?
Isn't DD-X really expensive?
Tip: do not use that squeegee as it will create marks on the negative, use a small piece of chamois leather instead, since I discovered this method I never get scratches or drying marks.
thanks for the advice :D I usually let it soak in water while I'm developing my film and haven't had an issue yet but to be fair it might not be worth risking it if it is going leave scratches
I completely agree! The squeegee will work for a bit, but will eventually end up destroying your film! I use a standard sponge cut into a small strip to wrap around the film. I store it slightly damp and it works wonderfully. Always soft and scratch free. Plus it only costs a buck or less lol
You MUST rinse out the Chamois Leather in lukewarm water, wring it out, roll it into a tube and use the smooth side of the leather on the film as it hangs with a weighted clip.
@mamiyapress thanks for the advice guys ill give this a go i dont want to be getting scratches didnt know about that method
