She was grieving. Even animals miss their humans. It’s hard for them to adapt. Thank you for taking her in.
Animals grieve even more, because they don't understand where their human has gone.
Exactly. She was NOT grumpy. She was depressed.
AMEN
She needed you. They grieve. They don't understand. Thank you, you have a heart of gold
Yes, you said it perfectly.💕🐈⬛☮️
What a wonderful life you gave to that sassy kitty! So many cats wind up traumatized in shelters after their owners pass away.
I adopted a Senior cat from the RSPCA World for Pets, located in Underwood, Queensland - Ruby is now 11 years and had a pudgy non-existent waistline, however with some gentle exercise in my backyard she has become my Feline gardening assistant as she loves to dig in the raised garden beds, fertilising naturally. 💩😺
What a nice story. Kudos for her taking a 14 yo cat home. 14 isn't old. And her deep raspy voice is/was adorable.
Angry at the rain. That's a song title if ever I heard one.
Cats used to live to be in their 30s - modern medicine drugs/shots & canned food has destroyed their health.
@@harveyplantharvester1502I would love to see the research validating your statement.
@@harveyplantharvester1502 cats can live till their 20s.
The average rat eating unvaccinated street cat is lucky to make it to 5.
I agree I love her raspy, growly, grumpy voice. So expensive and not afraid to let you know!
I have a 22 y/o black cat who still hunts. He's huge, 25 lbs, but he's not fat. He was feral and adopted us 14 yrs ago. We love him to bits! His name is Handsome.
Give him to me. Immediately
That's my cat Hello? Its been that long already wow
Love it!!
Nice name for a cat

I am 73 and I have lined up several people who are willing to take my
Riley boy when the time comes. They make sure to interact with him whenever they come over so he will know and trust them. I leaves me at peace knowing he will be taken care of.
Good on you, Judy! I wish more people would think to do this for their pets! I have two trusted friends with whom I've made similar, reciprocal arrangements. None of us knows when the Reaper will come calling, regardless of age, so it's good to be prepared.
I love that cat! She had such cattitude!!😸😹😽
It’s my biggest worry; what will happen to my fur babies when I die.
May you live long!
Such a thoughtful and much needed charity! That is a great way to HONOR the memory of MacKenzie and your grandparents.
As a senior, this is something I worry about with my cats. More organizations like this need to open up and yes, it is a great way to Honor MacKenzie.
There is a CZcams channel called Hope for Paws. They are always saying please make arrangements for your pet in your Will because too many dogs/cats get dumped by family members who have no interest. It has nothing to do with leaving them money but that you have arrangements in place for their care after you pass away.@@paanne1013
I'm so, so impressed by this family. They saved 150 cats! That's amazing, genuinely amazing.
I teared up thinking about all the seniors who worry where their best friends would go after they pass 😢 So grateful for this initiative.
Absolute respect to this woman and her family for taking this cat in, even though their new furry friend was initially hard to deal with and grumpy. Also serious respect for creating an organization on behalf of re-homing senior cats. Thank you kindly!
what do you mean, who the hell wouldn't take in their grandpa's old cat lol
@@macsdf1 the same people who wouldn't "take in" grandpa...
Indeed very nice woman with a heart . Love people like her !
What a Beautiful soul this woman is. Thankyou for keeping Mckenzie and giving her a great 4 years.
thank you good humans for giving the adorable cat a sweet home
thank you pretty lady for giving the cat a lovely home
It would have been heart breaking for the kitty to be dumped at the shelter after spending so many years with a human family. It was so nice of you 😸
I remember seeing a story about this cat right after she was adopted. Sweet and yet bittersweet to see the conclusion of her story. ❤
I remember it, too. It was amazing then, and even more so now.
That charity, "My Grandfather's Cat" - what a thing to do for about-to-be-homeless cats!
Those cats do not do well in shelters, and are rarely adopted.
@@pawwalker3492I would assume most are euthanized.
@@mpettway6982 that's the point - most ARE.
I volunteered in shelters wherever my spouse was transferred, senior animals, _especially CATS ,_ never did well.
This is why I had to stop and do only outside volunteering, like mailings, and delivering things around.
Shelter burnout. It's a thing, and breaks your heart for a long, long time.
@@mpettway6982As they would mostly be seniors themselves and ‘less adoptable’ 😢
I've never understood how family of loved ones who have passed can dump their pets in a shelter. Especially senior pets. It's so traumatizing for them to lose their owner and then lose the only homes they've known. God God bless this beautiful girl for giving McKenzie a wonderful life, and for helping place other seniors pets into loving homes. She is doing God's work!
what a beautiful cat and so expressive....how kind of you to look after to her until her end of life.
Oh so sorry kitty passed. Beautiful lovely story. My boy is 13: diabetic, and hope he lives long.
I’m glad you were able to take her in
So sorry for your loss. But what in inspiration Mackenzie was.
Because of her, the lives of over 150 kitties were potentially saved. Thank you for what you have done, both for Mackenzie and for all the other kitties.
Your grandparents are so incredibly proud of you - not a doubt, both for doing so well by MacKenzie and giving her the best golden years after they passed, and for creating such a wonderful organization to assist senior cats needing new forever homes. RIP sweetest kitty. Keep up the good work- it isn't easy! Sending love snd strength! ❤️✊️
God bless you guys for not taking her to a shelter. She was worth it.
What a fantastic story! I smiled! I laughed and I cried! Thank you for taking Mackenzie in and giving her a wonderful 3 years! 🥰❤😻
She meow'd like a 1920's gangster. Also god bless you. I have senior cats a bit older than Mackenzie was. I've had them all their lives and if something were to happen to me i pray for someone to take care of them as you have.
I have a 19-year old Chihuahua, so this story holds so much meaning for me. Thanks for taking such good care of her and others like her. ❤
Mackenzie was the sweetest kitty with a tough exterior. Thank you for taking care of her until she went to your grandparents. I think she missed them so much.
I'm so sorry for your loss ! i knew this little grumpy kitty from an old video... She was the sweetest grumpy cat in the world. RIP sweet angel
you made me cry so hard lucky kitty
This cat always cracked me up, RIP sweet kitty Mackenzie ❤
On behalf of senior houseless cats: I'm so glad you exist and have created such a great non profit for us in Canada! 💓 TYSM! 😺
McKenzie, the senior cat, is now in heaven with the angels 😇 💖
Thanks 🙏 for sharing your amazing story with McKenzie 😺❤
I smiled the whole time watching this video.
God Bless you, your parents, your senior cats charity.
🙏 💕⚘️ Greetings from California.
I took in my mom's senior cat Puddy after she passed away...my mom rescued her from a dumpster. She had the best personality..I still miss them both.
Most people wouldn't want a very grumpy hissy cat like this. So glad to see that he got lots of love. Thank you.
I love her growly meows! She was beautiful. 💙
She's a very pretty cat and that voice is such an amusing surprise. I think she just had a different dictionary for cat sounds. A hiss could be a friendly sound. Even her ordinary meows were not ordinary. She was an original and I'm guessing her human mom must be very glad she got to be there for her when she needed it most.
What a wonderful story to share. That meow was hilarious. She really honored her Grandfather because that kitty looked like a handful 😆. It’s was fun watching him warm up to her and her family ❤️
Such a beautiful story! Mckenzie's last chapter in her life was a storybook ending. I hope she is hanging with your grandparents enjoying new adventures.
One cat lead to such important work, a calling actually. Life begins and it ends. MacKenzie had great golden years, so I can't be sad.
the whole world needs people like her💖
Easily the sweetest grump I've ever seen. There's NOTHING more rewarding than earning an animal's trust - particularly a grumpy one at that! 🐈😍👍
What a beautiful story!!! Mckenzie is so blessed to have had you! And, to start a nonprofit organization in her honor is beautiful! Blessings to you all! And, yes, she is definitely your guardian angel! 😊💖🙏
Sometimes the only option, turns out to be the best option! ✌️
I have horrible allergies to cat's and we usually stayed clear of rescuing them. We've always volunteered at dog rescues since I didn't have allergies to most dogs. One of the rescue groups needed my husband and I to rescue a cat from a shelter since it was going to be killed the next morning. We went to get Prissy. She was also an older cat and she lost her owners. I was having major sneezing fits, eyes were runny and my face was beet red before getting home with her. I was able to find a way to be around her. I had my doctor prescribe me allergy meds and then they prescribed injections for my allergies. We used wipes on her that helped with the allergies. My doctor told me that it's cheaper and best for me to not be around cats. I told him that it's not the cat's fault that I have allergies. We ended up keeping Prissy. My husband and daughter's loved her. We have rescued around 5 cats if there wasn't any other options. But there's no way I would turn away a cat if they need to be saved. It's awesome that this woman was able to take in her grandparents cat. And that she has rescued other cats.
The wipes really help, I know because I have to do the same thing.
WHAT A GREAT-CAT !!..
Trauma is a bear to recover from.
Mackenzie is a delight. She’s also stunning. She hissed at the waves! Love her. Thank you for taking Mackenzie & adoring her. Sweet and spicy.
What a beautiful story. And a cat hissing at an ocean wave is the perfect symbol of how cats just know that they rule the world. I'm glad that she had a wonderful second forever home.
This is a beautiful story🥹God Bless you all❤🙏🏻
Such kindness and understanding. What a wonderful granddaughter !
This cat is my soul animal...I feel exactly the same way around just about every person I meet these days...
I'm sorry for McKenzie's loss ...😢😢😢😢😢😢
That's a great way to remember her and your grandparents.
My mom got really sick and it became apparent she wasn't going to be home for a while. We didn't want to put her cat in a shelter, so Muffin moved in with me. She had to take a plane ride from Minnesota to Florida and then move in with me who she barely knew and my cat Otis. She was about 14 when I got her and she took the move and everything very well! She and Otis do more than tolerate each other and I figured that was a victory. She's been with me for 2 years and I recently had to move to a new apartment. She took it in stride while Otis is still adjusting!
Muffin is a little old bossy lady but I love her.
I loved this cat story the first video I saw and while I'm sorry she crossed the rainbow bridge, I'm glad she had you! The charity is a wonderful idea!
You honored your grandparents, and continue by supporting other cats of elderly people. (I love her husky voice!)
Had a wonderful cat just like her . Miss her so much. She was a gang leader in another life I think but we loved her. Her name was Pumpernickel ❤❤❤

Oh I love her grumpy little meow…precious. I’m glad she had such a wonderful time during her last years of life❤️🙏🏾
Rest in peace Mackenzie. Every soul deserves something like this for their final years/months❤
Thank you for giving Mckenzie the love and best until the rest of his life ...❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is so nice of her to take her grandparents’ old cat in. She gave her happiness in her golden years.
Mackenzie was a beauty and I love her grumpy, angry meows. This cat had definite ideas and let everyone know it. You and your family did a wonderful job taking care of her. And your outlook on where she is now is beautiful. Thank you for starting the non profit that will benefit so many.
She's adorable. Love her Sassy grumpy old lady voice❤what good work McKinsey inspired & what a wonderful life you gave her❤
Heartwarming story; RIP little one.
Thanks for giving mackenzie a chance to live out the rest of her Golden years at home instead of a shelter! All senior animals deserve a home to live out their golden years! Glad to hear mackenzie was well loved and taken care of! ❤🙏
You're a good egg! You're beloved grandparents would be so proud! ❤️🐈👏
I'm sure they are all together too. May your grandparents and McKenzie RIP together at last. 🕊⚘️⚘️⚘️
What a beautiful story. I'm so glad you were able to take your grandfather's car home. You won it's heart forever.❤ They give so much, teach so much, love so much
♥️🐈♥️ So grateful for your doing the work you do. Every cat changes one family's life and their life forever. You have a heart of gold. God bless you always.♥️♥️♥️
Awww!!! I had a long-haired calico just like yours--called a dilute calico. She lived to be 20 years old. She was a diva to be sure--Cleopatra Queen of Sheba Pussychat Parsons 🥰🙏🐈❤️🇨🇦
What a sweetheart!!! Yeah, O.K. the cat is nice too. 1:03 Yes, I do want to cuddle, right after we let Mackenzie outside! 😁
You made grumpy cat very happy lol. Such a lovely story x
What a wonderful org in honor of your grandparents, and thank you for understanding that their cat was grieving the loss, too. (RIP, Mackenzie😢💕🐈⬛🌈☮️)
Thank you for taking care of your grandfather's cat after he passed away and giving her several more years of a wonderful life where she was warm, safe and dry in a loving and caring final forever home.
That is just the sweetest story. You gave her such a good life in her final years. And setting up a charity to re home cats … your grandparents would be so proud of you.
This was so beautiful to watch.
Ty for accepting her just the way she was. I found her so beautiful & adorable.
This made me cry. But, I know even though she was grieving. She knew you loved her & ya made her final years beautifully wonderful.
She is definitely flying high in heaven in peace, finally with her best fri3nds..May She rip with your grandparents 🙏🌈🐱🤍
Humanity makes me so happy. I’m sad that Grandpa passed away and that cat lost his best friend. But this beautiful lady stepped up and gave that cat a chance to see life from her perspective. Life can be beautiful if led in the right direction. Thank you.
Sweet baby. And surely she's with your grandparents. (I know I've seen you two before on CZcams.) ❤😺
Oh I love her and her precious meow! God bless this lady for doing the right thing for the cat and also for genuinely loving this beautiful girl 💙🐾❤️
Thank you for giving that gorgeous lady more adventures and love ❤
Amazing lady to set up charity for senior cats !!! McKenzies meow and her tummy wiggle when she walked 😂❤
Just Lovely - You should be very proud of yourself. You and your family are special people.
I love her voice! She's beautiful!
Awww, Mckenzie was the most adorable cat! Thank you for giving her the love she deserved in her final years, I am sure your grandparents were overjoyed. ❤❤❤❤❤
You and your family are such beautiful, loving souls. With compassion and true understanding, you are making a difference in the lives of people and beloved animals. As The Beatles sang, "All you need is love." Thank you for sharing. Take good care!
What a wonderful tribute to your grandfather❤❤❤❤ ! Seniors often get overlooked when trying find homes for their beloved animals.especially senior pets! You are an amazing person ❤❤❤❤!
So glad you took this sassy girl & gave her a wonderful life! No doubt the sweet girl is with your grandparents being spoiled forever! God Bless you all!
Ok crying now. 😢 Beautiful story.
Ihana kissa ja ihana tarina😻😍❣️
What a sweet and grumpy sounding cat.
You did right by that wonderful furbaby and by your grandparents. They'd be very proud.
All animals go to HEAVEN
This is such a beautiful story 🐈😿👏🏿😻
Well done❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing that personal story with us. It was very heartwarming. And I think Mackenzie was a cool cat. I love her meow. Being a cat owner myself, I know what it's like when a cat is sleeping on you and you cannot move not even an inch.
She helped you and you helped her and she got to see and do a lot of amazing things. That cat had a wonderful life.❤❤❤
Yo tuve una gatita con 20 años😢
Y ahora tengo uno de 18 años😊
Gracias , Cosmos🎉😊

Oh what a beautiful fluffy cat 🐈 😻 🐈⬛️. I love her gimpy meow & hiss.🤩🥰🥳🥰😍
My father took in his father's all black cat, Packa, after his passing several years ago. She also took a long time to trust us but there was no other choice for where she was going. She is a wonderful little void of light.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story! 🎉❤
Such a beautiful story.
She was missing your grandparents and yet you gave her a truly happy, lovely life. A character cat if ever there was one 😻🇬🇧
love it, and love her charity. Beautiful people exist.
