- Anatomy of uvea part 3
In this detailed clinical ocular anatomy lecture, we dissect the layers of the choroid, providing invaluable insights into its structure and function.
đïžâđšïž *Key Topics Covered:*
1. *Choroidal Layers:* Explore the layers of the choroid, unraveling the complexities from the suprachoroidal lamina, choroidal stroma, choriocapillaris layer and the bruchs membrane
2. *Clinical Nuggets:* Discover clinical gems and essential knowledge that every medical professional, student, and anatomy enthusiast should know related to choroid. For example clinical significance of suprachoroidal space, choroidal thinning and pachychoroid.
3. *Suprachoroidal Space:* Journey into the suprachoroidal space, understanding its significance in effusion and suprachoroidal hemorrhage.
4. *Suprachoroidal Lamina:* Uncover the details of the suprachoroidal lamina
5. *Hallers Layer, Sattlers Layer, and Choriocapillary Layer:* Delve into these specific layers, gaining a nuanced understanding of their functions and relevance in clinical contexts.
6. *Bruch's Membrane:* Explore the intricacies of Bruch's membrane, a crucial barrier and a pentalaminar structure. explore its five layers
7. *The Function of Uvea:* Gain insights into the multifaceted functions of the uvea, deepening your knowledge of its vital role in ocular physiology.

Life saving lecture on anatomy of uvea đ
Thank you for the very nice lecture about the anatomy of the choroid. Very helpful! đ
Please allow two comments.
1. Apart from the blood vessels, many melanocytes are present in the choroid, i.e. cells that are fully packed with melanosomes. Maybe you could mention them more explicitely?
2. At 24:20, you show a histology section and label the layers. In the layer you name "Layer of Rods and Cones", there are only the inner segments and outer segments of these photoreceptors. Both rods and cones stretch from the outer plexiform layer to the RPE. The outer nuclear layer are the nuclei of the photoreceptors (rods and cones).

That's right @ sudhadevarajan!
thanks your lectures Are so precious for us đ
Thank you @ aysennalar âșïž
Tq maam. Ure the best
Thank you !!
How is it that the erythrocytes travel 5 times slower in the choriocapillaries when the blood flow in the choroid is fast, so much so that only around 2-3% of arterial oxygen leaves the arteries ??
