I've read the comments and see a couple of tricks that I was going to suggest. First, the person that suggested ultra stiff canvas is right. It will keep the shape and it's much easier for things like boxes and bins. The other suggestion of using two sheets of canvas is also a good suggestion but I'm adding to this suggestion because when doing a box, I think it's easier. I make tons of storage boxes. I use them for everything. And what I do to make them nice and sturdy is using the ultra stiff canvas and I doble the thickness but not by sewing two pieces of canvas together. I do it an easier way and I just make s second box. So I stitch one box and assemble it. Then I assemble a second, unstitched box and I make it one to two holes smaller. Then I fit the unstitched one inside the stitched one and overcast the tops together. It makes a very sturdy box! And I love your diamond design! You do really nice work!

Excellent tutorial! I had ordered a Mary maxim kit before I read the reviews which said it was a difficult design. I’ve never done plastic canvas before. This gives me some basics. I feel much more confident now! Thank you! Lovely boxes😍

You could also use a "ultra stiff plastic canvas". It is great for projects such as this without bagging or sagging.
    Good job. Looks very nice.

The only problem is that stiffer plastic has smaller holes, which could be an issue with some yarns. I have had some luck with stitching through two sheets of plastic canvas to give a project extra stiffness, but I haven't tried that with bins like this. You might need to cut the inner sheet one square smaller at all the intended joins to make a kind of bevel to make the double layer technique work for something like this if you decided to try it. I would, but I think I'm "binned out" right now. I've also remembered why I stopped using the Needloft Plastic Canvas Yarn... ;-D

Nice tutorial, 😊 I'm going try Polypropylene cord for stiffness for this as l want to make pullout trays/bins for my crafting tools. As well as the suggested doubling of sheets.

A trick for a really sturdy box is to use two plastic canvas pieces together. A bit more tiring pulling a needle through two canvases, but worth it in the end when you don't have to sew extra pieces to the inside.

I'm so happy I found your channel! Bravo👏 on this video! I don't normally comment on vids but this deserved more than just a tap on the like button (which I also did). I appreciate your detailed, precise instructions without it being a lengthy video. I also love how you included the learning as you go method. I know a lot of content creators edit out things that may not be "perfect" the first time through which is fine, it's just refreshing to see that everyone isn't "perfect".😉 Your work is absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to see more of your other videos! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!!😁👍👏

Thinking about my question this morning, I think I answered it. It's all in the measuring. I can buy a 12-count, 10-count, 8-count, or whatever-count. Just apply it to the box I want to create and count. If I'm wqrong, please cosrrect. Thanks.

    • @offairhead

Yes. There was no reason for that. You just figure out what row the edge will be to center your pattern then work from side to side. She made a lot of extra work for herself by 1. Starting from the center and 2. By cutting the yarn every row.

There is absolutely no reason to cut the yarn at every row. You simply start the row above and work the next row in the opposite direction as the first row.
