For those who want more context, one of the 2 girls behind that stabbing were diagnosed with schizophrenia and was sent to a mental institution for around 22 years. The other one not diagnosed with it was sent to an institution for 15 years. One of them later wrote an apology note to Peyton describing how much they regret that disgusting immoral act that they did. The other one kept silent.

I can still recall my first time watching this, the same year it came out and being only eleven years old and also at the same time - being a part of the Creepypasta fandom, where Slenderman originated from back then and it really just...Unnerved me, scared me shitless. It for the longest time scared me not just out of the CP fandom, but in general any internet horror and those who were into it. I can still recall just how much of an impact this had too on the Creepypasta fandom - it ended up dying out to almost nothing and over in the recent years just began to rebuild itself and people having to state at every chance that "Hey, this character is not real, none of this is real, do not do ANY OF THIS.". It confused me as to how those two girls could believe someone that I thought was obvious that didn't even exist to begin with.
I hope she's doing okay today, no kid or anybody deserves to go through anything this traumatic and painful. No one.
I was 12 and getting quite into conspiracy videos on CZcams. Men in black, aliens, ghosts, photos that shouldn't exist, illuminate etc. I suppose that's why this story was recommended to me. I never truly believed them, but when I saw this, I realized just how easily I could have. I'm fairly gullible. I guess cause I always had intelligent adults in my life that I could trust. If I didn't already have strong beliefs on what was real and what wasn't, I could be a damn 'moon landing was faked' person right now. Though this is different, internet algorithms can take you to dark places.
Also I believe the leader Morgan was schizophrenic. That's why she so truly believed slenderman was real.

in my opinion, the operator was just trying to grasp information, like what kind of weapon was used. if she was stabbed by something pointed like an ice pick then there would be no bleeding (or maybe minimal). this kind of information are critical for them so they could send the appropriate help. and btw by that time nobody knows how many times she got stabbed.

That girl is so strong and brave- I know for a fact if that had happened to me, I would not have been strong enough to crawl my way out of the woods like that. What a will to live. Truly inspiring. As a 16 year old I’ve only been to one sleepover and now I see why my dad wants to know who the parents are and who my friends are before I go. I’m very thankful for that.
That's really no guarantee though. People can put on a wonderful "face" when they need to. Parents are frequently fooled. Sleepovers are problematic on many levels.

EDIT: since some people have upvoted this comment lately, let me point out a key flaw in the OP comment that I have mentioned further down in the comment chain:
- The caller didn't say "she's been stabbed", despite OP's misquote. He said "She *appears* to be stabbed". That is not confirmation that she was indeed stabbed. It's critical that emergency operators ask these very simple leading questions to confirm what is going on, and to lead the callers into providing useful and genuine information that medical personal needs to know.
If they just provide distressed guesses, which at worst could be false information, it could lead to the victims getting mistreated or the medical staff not being prepared to save them.

They have to ask those questions, it’s mandatory. They need to know if she’s actively losing blood or has stopped bleeding if it’s been a long time, depending on where she was stabbed, the caller also never clarified she’d been stabbed 19 times, he only said she’s been stabbed.

the girls were actually proven innocient by insanity. I don't remember if it was both or just one, but at least one of the girls was diagnosed with schizophrenia. its believed that that's what motivated her. They are still serving time and rightfully so, but they are also receiving treatment and will be released.
They both got sended to a mental institution. One of them them for 22 years and the other for 15. One of the girls wrote an apology but the other girl kept silent.

I look up to her she is truly amazing she got stabbed 19 times but still dragged herself out of the forest and after a good recovery she helps animals! I love animals myself and it’s amazing that after something tragic she still wants to help animals, truly amazing!
