maybe it work with any phone but it work better with apple because iphone has infrared camera and dot projector to measure depth which most android phone doesn't have, you can see at the end of video there's a flickering red light which is dot projector working
It's funny how they start with the product that is going to be null and void in a couple of years.
The iPhone has not progressed and won't get any better. Those iphones will be relics soon.

I'm ordering one of these for a family member who is in an assisted living facility. Any ideas on if/how I can use a security tether cable to lock this down / prevent theft? I assume I'd have to tether both LOOI and the phone.. 🤔 (the phone will be dedicated just for this, not his everyday cell)
I'd think a clear acrylic security display case would be your best bet. (I'm sure you have seen them before at electronic stores where they keep the iPads locked down while still usable.) They normally have the hardware required to bolt them down to a table included. All that is left to do would be to secure the robot in place inside the case, something like double sided tape would work, even the foam like tape used to secure a photo frame to the wall would work as well. It may seem a bit over the top but I was trying to think of a way to secure/lock up both the robot and phone with out modifying the robot itself (drilling holes,ect).
If this is possible then amazing! Ofcourse there's the privacy thing, but come on, this is like a moving tamagochi!
I like the concept but every AI companion pet I’ve used has had its drop sensor magically break, start falling and eventually become a paperweight, if my phones in that what will happen when this ones drop sensors start to break?

The Looi "personality" stuff is cool but I hope it can be turned off and this can still be used as a very cool phone holder. Keep the face tracking and chatGPT (Yes I know, privacy concerns but how many selfies have you uploaded to Google?) and this is the coolest mobile phone stand ever.

might be better if it wasn't needing to use your phone, the idea is cool but in execution if I need to use my phone for it I would likely us it 2-3 times then never again.
I'd assume its a good use for older phones you have laying around.
As a phone holder/stand thing it's awesome. Hopefully there's a way to disable all the "personality" stuff and just have it as a very cool mobile phone holder.
