Is this the rarest Sovereign set ever? RM “Silent Auction” winners emerge…matte proof gold!

A few weeks ago, the RM ran a “silent auction” to sell 20 or so special sovereign sets that were produced to mark the Coronation. They may not be the most beautiful items ever designed and created by our Royal Mint, but they are certainly some of the rarest.
The auction was marked by controversy, and I expect a certain amount of regret from the Royal Mint. When the arguments are forgotten the successful winners will certainly have a wonderful coin set that is extremely rare.

Not my cup of tea, but in general such tactics may ultimately drive buyers (and thus demand) away from the RM. Again, not that it matters but I have basically now abandoned their "offers". Very sad.
