This along with with the OG Advanced Wars really held up so well over the years. The action graphics are still cinematic 20 years later 👏
Yall get to experience Hector Hard mode in its majesty.

I completed HHM several weeks ago and honestly did not like it
If y’all haven’t played this it’s a must play. An absolute delight in character development, storytelling, and the music is timeless!
I literally just played this on an emulator only a few months ago. Why didn't you release this sooner Nintendo!
Oh well, I'm sure the Switch version doesn't let you increase the game speed, so emulator is better anyway
I had this one but not the one after it. I loved it.
@@_Stormfather Just learn to mash A faster.
@c5214963 at least save states help if rewind is too far away. Those reinforcements were brutal. Japan gets the binding blade. Wish nintendo would re-release the delisted nes game for those who missed out.
Though these switch expansion releases are way too slow; basic shows more potential at 40% the price. I dunno when excitebike 64 will be available.

Me too. Got the complete hector ending.
Cool game. I’m still looking forward to see some more Game Boy Advance games in the future. There’s so many to choose from.
Same! Clocked in like 300 hours lol. Your username is telling!
The first Fire Emblem game to come to the west, and it still holds a lot of memories for me. Looking forward to playing it next week!
Let's go! Thank you Nintendo! Now all we need is Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones and a localization of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. 😊
Download them yourself?
@@knuclear200x How? All I have is a Switch.
@@Travis-oy3se He wants you to pirate. Don't do it.
@@SaltyToad00 I won't. I can afford things 🤣
@@Travis-oy3se Like a device powerful enough to run these games effortlessly.
It’s amazing that we as fans got to a point where we didn’t see these little screens as digital displays, but as our battlefield. It’s wild that these games can be so immersive!
This game was the first Fire Emblem I played, and to this day remains on the list of games that I hum music from now and then, so much of it is so memorable. Magnificent game, and to anyone that's not sure if they'll like it, but have the expansion pass, give it a whirl. At worst, it's not for you, but at best, you may come to see why it's a beloved, nostalgic game for so many people.
Same this was also my first fire emblem. Seeing Marth and Roy in smash bros melee on GameCube is what peaked my interest
@@CaliMisfit While I did first hear of Fire Emblem via Melee, my first Fire Emblem game was Awakening, which was released in 2013, 10 years after Fire Emblem 2003/Blazing Blade.
yes but at the same time you are telling Nintendo its ok to be ripped off with the NES and SNES games and they are the real starters for Fire Emblem. Yes part 1 got a release on Switch but they are ignoring the others. Yes they are Japan's shop but is it fair you have to learn to read Japanese to play them? Sounds like bullsh*t
@@flatcapman Holy moly bro what does that have to do with people being excited for this one, settle down :/
@@flatcapman yeah, no Binding Blade, to engage Roy with Cecilia ❤
This game is still one of my favorites even 20 years later.
Same, I was stoked when I saw it was one of the games lined up to be available. It's been forever since I played it can't wait to run through it again.
Do either of you know what time it will release today?

I remember ... getting the game on limewire way back then, this made me love the franchise and I never stopped liking it.
yooo nice. this game is a classic. if you're new to Fire Emblem this one's the best starting point imo
Especially since it now has rewind and save states built in, so no more raging about the permadeath and quitting the game early. Hopefully they'll add in the other games, including the JP-only ones, soon!
@@KrimsonKattYT oh god. I just realized that Battle Before Dawn will no longer be an absolute chore/nightmare to play.
Whats your opinion on sacred stones
@@aether7508good starting point, very easy as well so there's that
@@aether7508 Seth breaks everything. He is the weapon triangle
I love the fact that the very first bit of dialogue this trailer used was Sain telling Lyn that her existence is a bad thing
She constantly wrenches relevance away from Eliwood in the wider FE zeitgeist like in spinoffs despite being little more than a footnote to the game's actual plot, so that's up for discussion tbh
@@chubomikz7104 Roy does the same thing when it comes to Eliwood, so what's your point?
@@chubomikz7104 yeah but Eliwood sucks and Lyn rules so that's just a plus :P
Almost like NSO as a whole.
@@Paranundrox Eh, Eliwood at least can deal damage to bosses that have defense, unlike Lyn who gets 2 signature swords yet still is pretty much only good for dealing with low defense axe mooks, especially if you skip Lyns story when you play Eliwood/Hector's story...
This is the game that started my interest in the Fire Emblem series. Would totally recommend it!
This is the type of games we need more of. Now bring us an English Fire Emblem 6 with Roy!
Now this is huge!! Fire Emblem is quite an expensive GBA game to get your hands on. Definitely gonna play this one. Gives me a bit of hope for seeing the core pokemon games one day
As amazing as it would be they'd have to figure out some way to be able to link Home to NSO otherwise you'd have a bunch of Pokémon caught that you can't use anywhere else (and you can't trade them either)
@@Doommaster677 It would be extremely easy, you are already using the online system to back up saves, so if they code Pokémon Home to work with that data, you are pretty much there
It's actually pretty cheap. You see, there's this thing called an emula
@@meltenvy Emulation doesn't let you transfer your pokemon to new games
@@meltenvy I'm not against emulation but I just choose not to use it most of the time. Original hardware, especially the Gameboy, is unbeatable in it's feeling and quality. Not to mention I don't have to fiddle around with settings to get everything working right
Freaking loved this game. Still has one of my favorite casts in all of Fire Emblem. Hopefully we get a localization of Binding Blade in the future.
Fire Emblem the Blazing blade; the first Fire Emblem game released in America. A cornerstone of the GBA library!
Love this game bought it Winter break and played it for all Winter break. Good times.
Y'know what would make this even better? An official localization of Binding Blade. Please don't pass this up Nintendo.
Shadow dragon and the blade of light being localised is a incredible move
Probably won’t for a long time, I’m afraid. Remember the Switch’s localization of the first Fire Emblem a few years ago?
Apparently, they save localization for special events.!
An absolute classic, my favourite game of all time
Very sick! Still wish we could’ve gotten Binding Blade but this is also a must have on the game pack!
This is the Blazing Blade I think what you're referring to is the Sword of Seals or Binding Blade depending on your translation.
"...and prevent war in Elibe."
All right, who's going to tell them?
Nice! Can't wait! 😀
My third favorite Fire Emblem after Awakening/Sacred Stones!
Really excited for this, I’ve been a fan of the series since Awakening but I’ve only played some of the newer games, and for years I’ve wanted to play some of the games that came before Awakening, so it’s fun to see this will be a great chance to finally do it
Same! Super excited to experience Lyn, Hector and Eliwood's tale first hand!
Same but also scared about the lack of casual mode lol
NSO games have save states and rewind features pretty sure you'll be fine.
I mean the whole point of Fire Emblem is that units die if you aren’t careful. Really need to experience it properly so you can feel the emotional weight of a bad decision and whether that means carrying on without a favourite unit, or resetting and trying again
@@jtyler9130 i know, i just prefer playing on casual mode because otherwise it’s too easy for me to basically softlock myself without enough units to beat a difficult chapter
Absolute must play for fans of strategy games.
Well THAT'S pretty huge! Awesome!
It's been a while since I last played through this game. I hope they add Sacred Stones soon too, cause I really loved that one.
Sacred stones was amazing. I enjoyed beating it on my phone.
See you in 10 months then. Lol

They did... for the Japanese versions
@@scoffeex1740 we got Panel de Pon and not Binding Blade, lazy Nintendo
The perfect Fire Emblem game. Not too much dialog making the story much better paced with the gameplay.
A perfect fire Emblem game wouldn't have a 10 chapter long, mindlessly boring tutorial segment that's required for every first playthrough, a plot full of holes and contrivances, numerous translation errors and localization mishaps, the worst and most frustrating chapter in the entire series, (Battle Before Dawn) and none of the modern QoL. (rewind, casual mode, or auto-convoy) Also the supports are annoying and tedious to get and basically require two units sitting next to each other in a nearly cleared map for 100 turns so that they can rank up. Not to mention VERY IMPORTANT PLOT DETAILS being completely hidden with insane requirements.

What's stopping them? They translated Mother. Japan eshop gets Binding Blade with this update
@@timepatroltrunks8276 Mother 1 was already translated during development, it was just scrapped by the time it was finished due to the SNES already being on store shelves and they didn't want to take a risk on releasing a first party RPG on outdated hardware, only to finally be released decades later on the Wii U and now Switch. So What's with Fire Emblem 6 now? It's the perfect opportunity to finally bring it to western audiences, with the story directly linked to this game and with it playing 20 years after the events of this game. (you basically play the parents of this game, when they were at the same age as Lynn, Hector ans Eliwood).

You have to give it to Nintendo lately aka they have added some absolute classics onto the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack lately :D
I gave them the middle finger. Does that count? I'm not buying this trash again, especially when I can't even keep it.
Feels really odd that FE6(Binding Blade) wasn't included with this game, especially since japan exclusively got both this game and FE6. I mean Nintendo could've actually put in the effort to translate FE6 and include it along with FE7 since that games is the sequel to FE7. Besides there's already tons of translated FE6 roms made by fans that've been up on the internet to download for years now. Oh well I guess... *loads up translated FE6 rom onto computer*
