  • A recent rain storm caused my Master Canopy to buckle under the weight of the rain that captured on the canopy, and caused a truss to break. The company did not respond to a request to purchase another truss, so here is a simple DIY project to repair the truss.
I purchased the flat bar from Home Depot. Link below takes you to that product.

Excellent video.... another easy way to cut would be a Dremel rotary tool with a metal or lock cutting wheel. Thanks for making this video - saves $ and keeps a nice item usable.

One addition may be to attach the metal inside with screws to keep them together if it breaks completely across the center. I tend to overdue things though.

I just purchased a new strut from EZUp for $12.00! Shipping $12.00 total $24.00

Or buy a new canopy with the money and time spent to make a shoddy repair.

Is there a better repair? - Certainly a new canopy is a great solution, $159 or so, vs $4 for the flat bar..... 'Shoddy - badly made or done', how would you fix it to be adequate?

Please ignore the keyboard warrior; I think your repair was more than adequate.
Replacing the trusses would be great if they were readily available, but in today's throwaway culture it's good to know that videos like yours are there to find an alternative solution (and quite frankly an improvement on the original design).
      Kudos
