as a drummer whose learned this song. its insanely fun. a lot of crashes. a lot of agressiveness and just letting loose. its so freeing. my drum teacher encouraged me to use the song to experiment with heaviness and having fun and to go for it and be confident bcs nothing was wrong basically. kinda like the song itself. this song means so much to me bcs of the lyrical content and its so emotional and freeing. finneas and billie inspire me and my music as a musician so much and i cry pretty much every time at this song its insane. its so beautiful and just ugh. yeah. that was kinda a rant but the drums are amazing and so fun and its just ugh idk.

I remember watching this with my parents when It came on I left my friends house early that night cause I knew that Billie was gonna be on SNL I remember being so excited and watching her sing and I thought to myself this is probably the same excitement my grandma felt watching The Beatles on Ed Sullivan when she was my age.

Her voice is so soothing and you can hear they didn’t edit the studio version much, it sounds VERY similar.
I also like how they introduced her to the audience during the song, it takes some of the pressure off.
I honestly was cringing a little during this performance cuz she sounded pretty shaky at certain parts.
But she still did well.

As a 44 year old who grew up listening to Kurt Cobain. A musical personality for a generationin completely in his own lane. Billy is in her own lane in this generation and its awesome to watch, goosebumps. When she performs, she is in full command of her craft and she's still a week shy of 20. Very very rare to be as big a star as she so young!

I'm late to watch this video even though I've seen her sing it live and also the cd version, but when you have to take out the couple of swear words in the song, it's usually very noticeable because you are singing along and it's part of the song, but she adapted so well for snl, that I didn't even notice.
