Very informative video Ryan. There were some good tips in there and I will give them a go soon. Also, I never knew there was a specific crimper for Deutsche plugs - the things you learn along the way… Looking forward to your next vid!
3:10 if I connect I new wire to the one without any open ends, apparently I can’t use a heat shrink tube, what’s the best way to insulate it apart from using the tape?
Thanks for the detailed video- the deutsch plug especially was interesting. I am curious about something though…. I was expecting for you ( given your reputation ❤) to solder the end of the wires first before inserting them in the various parts before crimping except the deutsch plug perhaps 🤔 So that begs the question of why not solder the wires first ? I would’ve thought that it would be possibly the very best way of doing a perfect crimp. Mind you I don’t know anything about the subject, but applying logical reasoning… it would in my mind be, a much more corrosion resistant end result… I would love to know your thoughts 🙏 Thank you ☺️
Soldering is an additional step that adds time to an install, for arguably not much benefit. I imagine these guys have multiple cars to get through each day, in the quickest time possible.
