- After last weeks shower spigot built it was time for my Outdoor shower! I've been waiting so long for this, and I'm happy with how it turned out! I've been using the shower daily since I build it. Such an asset to have 😊

Nice project, like they way it looks! I used paver pads when I did my gazebo. Each pad eliminated 5 bags of sand each. Both big stores carry them, but for whatever reason they are different sizes made by the same company. For the next bigger project you do!
Its always so misleading to look at this big heavy bags. It always makes me think, one bag must be enough for a whole project and then you empty one and it looks like nothing 🤣

Clever design, and one of the nicest outdoor showers I have ever seen. Smart to use patio stones...nothing worse than standing in mud or on sharp gravel!

It’s always been my hobby since childhood. I always love to built things and I was always better with my hands. I worked hard in my career to be able to afford the farm and now I soak it all in and enjoy every moment of it

The total opposite. I always felt like I had to give back to the community so I had a career in that capacity. Make the world a better place, you know. 😊 but a few months ago I felt like I did my part and it was time to follow my dreams. And that’s what brought me to my farm

Your shower came out great. You can make a solution of vinegar and steel wool or other metal filings that when brushed on pressure treated wood will age it to a gray color within hours. Works great for adding to a board fence.

Nice -- I liek the design of the water drainage system, clever. I like the look of the wood on the shower stand too Any thought to drainage stand/walking board (duck bills boards) outside of the shower so after your done you're not waling in the sand/dirt?
Glad you like my built. I've been thinking about different options for that. I think I will just end up growing grass and maybe adding a few more stepping stones. Currently I just have a pair of slippers waiting me to wear after my rinse.

Very cool idea, especially since it's likely only cold water! LOL I think I would have used a smoother rock for the perimeter, but otherwise, great build.
Hey Rob, thanks a lot. Its very refreshing since the temperatures have been ridiculous hot. I'm wearing sunblock 100 and still get sunburned super quick. The shower is so refreshing. I was looking for river rocks but they were much more expensive. I wanted to build it on a Budget. Those stones were the cheapest in white color.
@@WhatMeikeMakes Budget is always the thing, right. Plus you can always swap the rocks out later if you want. But yeah, great idea in such a hot locale. Cheers.

Hi Meike I like the shower base idea it should drain well in the sand . Is it getting any side panels or a towel hanger ? Something that will keep me from trying to buy the lot next to yours 😉
Haha, I made sure I have full privacy before I decided on the location. So no side panels needed. I want to feel fully connected and immersed in nature when I take a rinse 😁

You want to position yor backhoe closer to the area you are digging, much easier when you don't need to extend the boom all the way.

I get my water from a well, I installed a second water pipe to tap into it. If you like you can seal the wood first but that usually ends up getting a bunch of grass stuff to the wet stain since I have so much grass and sand here. So I rather built first, so it’s off the ground. I sand as much as the instructions on the stain say. I think this one was 120

Hey Edward, CZcams wouldn't like that kind of content too much. I'm already in the penalty box. So I opened a content to test out the shower 😉🫣
That doesn't look like pressure treated lumber......it's not going to do very well outside, especially with ground contact. Sealing only does so much.
Like mentioned in the video. The whole built is built with pressure treated lumber. on top of that I added the stain/sealer.

I learned from my Dad and Grandfather as a little girl. Both are master carpenters 😁 and also my biggest critics, so I better do it right 😉
