This was before you were allowed to challenge a call in a match. They had the technology to do it, as you can see in the video, but it wasn’t used live in matches until later on. So the umpire’s call was the final word on the matter. Fortunately, they didn’t have a screen on court showing how out that shot was otherwise I wonder if Fed would have still been able to keep his cool. Nah, he probably still would have.. haha

It’s unbelievable how Fed handled the situation after that point which was clearly out. No one, absolutely no one could have been this calm. And they say Nadal is humble. Get out! See what drama he did on that point against Berdych and it wasn’t even a set point. Nothing against Nadal but pretty sure if that was Djokovic, the media would have put a sword by his neck. I see most of these players are humble only when they keep winning which is the easy enough to do. Their real character is seen when they start losing and that’s what separates humility from arrogance. Humility is what is shown by Argentinian players like Delpo or Schwarzman or French like Tsonga. Anyways, I never knew about either of those two points so thanks to the uploader for that and many other amazing points in the video.

The sportsman spirit shown by Novak and Roger is just unreal especially Roger. It was exact opposite of how Rafa reacted against Berdych, though Rafa is also a great sport. We perhaps will never get a generation like Fedex-Nadal and Djokovic. They were, are and will be the best ever. Even the erstwhile big boys with exception of Sampras like Ivan Lendl, Becker, wilander, Mc, Borg, Edberg are astonished and left feeling under achievers in front of this trio. We need to just accept that this is the pinnacle of a sport which will be very difficult to surpass for the coming generations.
