Tetrisphere is supposedly the next step in the evolution of Tetris, going from a 2D rectangular grid to a 3D sphere. Instead of making complete lines to clear the board, the player smashes Tetris blocks into a covered sphere until the core is exposed, which usually ends the level. Along the way, the player racks up points from various block-breaking combos.
In this movie, Acmlm plays through the "Time Trial" mode, where you have to get as many points as possible under a time limit. Watch him rapid-fire Tetris blocks so fast that no one else has any idea what's going on. Even the game itself is confused. Levels do not end properly until the entire sphere is blown apart. As for the timer when it reaches zero, well, see for yourself. :) - Hry
While this might seem like a strange gimmicky twist on Tetris like so many others, make no mistake - this game is genuinely quite fun if given a chance. Also the soundtrack slaps way harder than it has any right to.
Yes, I'm not even really a fan of puzzle games and was never that into the original Tetris or any modern games that were essentially the same thing, but back in the day I really liked Tetrisphere and Wetrix. Both those games are pretty fun and had multiple modes to keep the fun lasting, plus they had totally banging soundtracks.
Neil Voss gets zero credit for being one of the best composers of his era.
I like the part where...
Uhh...
Wow.
This is basically my reaction to any TAS
The part where he stopped placing pieces and just arranged the sphere on 3 and 4 was a highlight for sure
As someone who has never played Tetrisphere I find this confusing and oddly stressful
Oh good, not just me then
As someone who loved Tetrisphere as a teen (seriously, this was the game I got with the N64, not Mario), *I* find this confusing and oddly stressful.
Tetrisphere is just kind of like that, really.
I have no idea why a Tetrisphere TAS took so long to be uploaded to CZcams...but as I happened to start replaying this game recently, I couldn't have wanted something better than this, holy shit
Doctor: you have 8 minutes to live
me: **completes tetrisphere time trial in 7 minutes like a boss**
I love how indicator only showd maximum of 999 combo, but game stats show number more than 1000
We need more TAS videos from this game, please!
Seems easy enough.
Holy crap lois it's teckworks the furry internet artist
I like the part where the blocks do things.
Cool TAS video, never heard of this tetris game before or even get what's happening, but it looks like one of those holograms they put in the background of computers in scifi movies. Or one of those sorting algorithms that make the funny sounds.
haha I had the same thought with the sorting algorithms
I, uh...
I think I just peered into another dimension, fellas
I only know of this game because of the music. (Those uninformed of the amazing music should go look it up.) That said, I was kind of confused about this since I thought the Time Trial mode was endless except for the Time Limit. And once I saw what happened when the Timer hit zero, I understood.
That said, this was exactly what I thought a TAS of Tetrisphere would look like. Well done!
It's CPU...NON-STOP CPU AI
At first, I was like, "Oh, Tetrisphere sounds like a fun game", then I was like "WTF is going on here"
Now that's what I call a perfect 7- minute run.
Why are there tortured faces underneath the blocks
Because in order to pass the level in time trial you need to reveal one of the pictures
No Suisei for this version of Tetris.
Bruh how are you fast?😳
Vs CPU pls, I never saw the ending of that mode, too hard :'v

I wanna see this at 60fps.
The N64 was never that strong. This is real time processing.
Hahahaaaa
