She says that you can pray to God at any time, etc, but u just joined a religion that implements timings, washing, positions, rituals, mantras, in a foreign language, etc. that doesn’t sound particularly freeing. In Christianity, we pray to God whenever, with zero restrictions set on us. In Christ we are free & loved. God wants your heart not your fear.
It's important not to confuse protections for "restrictions". The word "Islam" means "to submit", while the word "Muslim" means "one who submits their will to God", so you can figure out that our religion is centered around worshipping Allah الله which is literally the Arabic words for One (ال) God (له). Our restrictions help to keep us steadfast in our worship of God. It's true that sincere prayers comes from the heart, but when you have a regiment for prayer, it makes it a whole lot easier and straightforward.
Muslims consider themselves slaves of God. Others can criticise that for being too extreme but we will remain unapologetic in our devotion to God. Humility is key. As for "washings", cleanliness is heavily emphasized in Islam, but exceptions are made for the poor who may perform ablution with sand if they do not have access to water. Being clean is also linked to being in a better state of mind, which is needed during worship. As for "positions", Jesus (peace be upon him) himself prostrated to God during prayer. As for "rituals", we fast because your Prophets did as well. It's common for religious Muslims to fast on Mondays and Thursdays without food or drink from sunrise to sunset, because David (peace be upon him) did the exact same. As for "mantras", that's a different religion (Hinduism). As for a "foreign language", only 20% of the Muslim world can speak Arabic, but nearly every Muslim in the world can recite Qur'anic Arabic because it's an extremely free-flowing language. Our worship is done in Arabic, but du'a (prayers), which follows worship can be done in any language.
Your interpretation of freedom is slightly self-centered. If you love God, you would follow all the rules He set out. If Christianity has zero restrictions on worship, then it's no wonder why most Christians don't take worship seriously these days. It's 2024 now, but most Christians only go to church or pray when calamity strikes in their lives; when their lives return back to normal, most of them stop praying and the cycle repeats every five or ten years. Muslims don't face this problem because we are always praying and we believe all forms of prayer carry reward because you're still dedicating time to God, but the most rewarded prayer in Islam are those done with the most genuine intentions and sincerity.
At the end of the day, this is what separates us from you. We are not as lax when it comes to faith, and that's by design: Islam is the most strict right-hand religion to have ever existed. Why should we believe in modern-Christianity?... the only religion in the world that was so altered and supressed by its own apostates (ex-Christians) that it literally gave rise to the birth of secularism....

I don’t really get what you’re saying. I struggle with prayer and other things, but that’s what Islam is. Worship Allah and try your best..It’s mostly a very cut straight religion. The Quran tells us what to do and we follow it. And yeah, not everyone can do it but that doesn’t make Islam a particularly bad religion. I feel like the community especially here makes it worse by judging you for every single move though..Islam is not easy for everyone, that’s the point (or how I see it) but it’s why we believe in deen over dunya..
