    One trick for opening a retractable pen is to push the top against a hard surface to do the work for you instead of using your fingers-I have a lot of issues and this works for me. Thanks for the thorough side-by-side review!

    I thought you might be interested in the prices on Australian Amazon for Writech pens..the 12 highlighters are $50 on special, the 12 sign brush pens are $48, the 10 rolling ball pens are $42 and the 10 pack black ink gel pens are $64! Even with exchange rates this is terrible. Must be paying for the air ticket for someone to go and bring them back down here lol.

      OH MY GOODNESS!!!! That’s INSANE!!!! I feel for you and my Australian friends- I feel like US/Australia shipping is the worst 😩

    They are nice. You can get tombows in so many color sets for 15. 10 set.
    Muted, natural, cottage, landscape etc.
    I looked at this brand, but it doesn't seem to look as great in terms of even color coverage.
    Ghosting is not a bad thing. It means your using enough of your paper to be worth it. :)
    Bleeding is bad.
    Just my opinion

    I got some Writech rollerball pens in these gorgeous vintage colors that wrote and drew like an absolute dream! They are definitely a go to brand for me, but I didn't know they had highlighters! I'm going to have to check those out because occasionally I use highlighters in my art to add unique splashes of color! I hope you have a great day and thanks for the awesome videos! 😊😊

    I bought the Gel pens in Vintage 1 and Vintage 2 after your last video. Love them. They write very smoothly and do not smear. Brush pens are next on my list

    The type of the rollerball liquid ink pens you got work best on smooth paper. If the paper is your swatch book is textured, the writing experience would not be optimal. I swear by my Pilot liquid ink pens (Hi-Tecpoint V5), they are a joy to write with on Happy Planner paper. I never had one of those dry up on me prior to me finishing it.

      @thejoyfulsojourn  Před 2 lety

      The swatch book is ever-so-slightly textured, so I’m sure that’s why I felt a little of that scratch from the needle point!

    • @thejoyfulsojourn
      @thejoyfulsojourn  Před 2 lety

      I’ve never tried the Pilot HiTec V5 - adding to my list, thank you!!

      @@thejoyfulsojourn It might be worth adding that I am very light-handed with my writing and never wear out needle tips or micron/fineliner tips. So the only pens that tend to feel scratchy on smooth paper to me are the ones with the low quality ink feeding mechanism.

    Off topic but I must know what is that nail polish and color?!? I love it.

    Back when I was using my EC planner I used the vintage highlighter set. It's perfect for the Flora planners/notebooks. Love them, was bummed when I left the tip out on my peach one. Dried it up. My mistake. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But like you, I like the neutral colors better.
