I had a stressful day with my elderly parents and my younger brother who has cerebral palsy. I feel better ❤️🩹 watching this video since I feel trapped by my family. Thank you so much for making travel 🧭 videos. It makes a greater difference in other people’s life than you think 💭.
You should do unpacking videos, where you reflect on whether the items you took were worth the space. I think it would be interesting to compare planning videos with "after" videos!
Yes to all these tips! I’m definitely a “just in case” and over-packer, which I need to work on after our London trip last month. Also, being in shape. Aside from hauling my over-packed bags around airports (Atlanta!) trying to keep up with my husband, London kicked my butt. Everyone moves at a fast pace there and will run you down if you don’t keep up, lol. Plus all the stairs in the tube stations. At one point my Apple watch commented “It looks like you’re working out.” It SHOULD have said “Are you dying? Because it looks like you’re dying.” 😂 I lost 10 lbs from all the walking and gallons of water I drank. Yes, down time is a must. My husband was sick from jet lag the first few days so that forced us to take some extra time just relaxing. The day before we left was rainy and we just stayed in our room other than going out for food. We learned a lot on this trip. 😊
😂😂😂. I agree those watches should absolutely have the "you're dying" option... like maybe an encouragement that "hey, you've just hit 20,000 steps, maybe you should fine a nice cafe for a lovely glass of wine now" LOL!!
Yes! I went to McDonald’s in Moscow and it was very interesting. Yes I want ice! My daughter first happy meal after I adopted her from an orphanage in Siberia. She had no idea how to eat a burger.
As someone who made it a point to try McDonalds in Italy I love this one! I think it is so fun to try things abroad that we are accustomed to here to see how different they are. McDonalds is most definitely not the same everywhere!
I find your videos to be so full of great, practical advice and ideas! I have saved SO many of them for reference. We’re off to Berlin, Wittenberg, Erfurt, Nuremberg, and Prague next April/May and I know I’ll be re-watching your videos to make wise packing and planning choices!!! Thank you!!!😊-Signed, another GenX Gypsy 😂
I am interested in your future minimal packing (less packing) videos. I also pack in case items a lot which I am trying to cut down! Thank you for this video!
Aww, thank you 😊. You will love Japan, it was amazing!! Once you're there its such easy and budget friendly country to travel in... I want to go back, but I also have soooo many other places on my bucket list 😂
#23 Down Days are Completely Legit! My Hubby and I are in our 50s. 30-ish years ago, we did a Disneyworld Trip, and we were hitting the parks from dawn to late night. We were in our 20s, yet we were exhausted after a few days. We dubbed a down day as our, "Scum Day" to lay out by the pool and just take it easy. To this day, when planning our vacations, we use the word, "Scum Day"! 😂
Thanks for the video🎉 QUESTION (s)….when you travel internationally, do you find that some places speak English or do you find that you have to learn a little bit of the language on top of using a Google interpreter or do you use a book to interpret? Which do you find as the best communication method?
Hey there! Really enjoying your travel tips. Way off the cusp but what products do you use for your foundation? I love the glow and softness it has. Thanks much!
Aww, thank you!! ❤️ I think for this video I did a little of this "glotion" first: amzn.to/48W9FPO Then the foundation is Loreal True Match: amzn.to/3Qn26dT I also used the ELF Halo glow on my upper cheeks: amzn.to/3QkdTta
Okay, second comment, but a question-where do you land on the idea of packing with the intention tossing some items?? I thought of this idea for a 5 week vacation and did actually toss about 3 items and purchased about 4. This is the reason: 1) I totally agree you need to be able to handle your luggage and therefore let's go carry on only. BUT, 2) the outfits get so repetitive as to be boring and, the season can change, maybe a new color excites me to add to the travel capsule. Am I the only one the think of this strategy?? Recently, I was on a two week multi-experience vacation in France. I NAILED THE CAPSULE!! But, I did get a little bored.......
I get it about being bored with the capsule if you have too little variety, and I think that is where accessories can make a big difference. Having different straps for my crossbody bag helps, scarves are awesome and lightweight. There were about three items from my capsule I could have left at home and been OK without. In Korea I wore my black dress multiple times, but never felt bored with it. Ultimately, I decided that as long as I was comfortable, cute and clean, I was happy with what I was wearing because it was the experiences that were more important 😊
We are going to South Africa in Dec 2023 for 3 weeks. Their voltage is higher than in the US. We always just take an adapter, not a converter. Will our laptop, phones, and tablet be okay.
I would definitely do some research, most likely the appliances you would run into trouble with will be hairdryers and curling irons because they may not be dual voltage. I would also research taking an adapter or converter that has surge protection to be extra cautious. Sounds like an amazing trip!!
😂. You're right!! I think I was putting it under the packing "just in case" items, because I brought so many meds that I never needed, but not my zyrtec, LOL!

Down days …. We call them cafe days. Pick an outdoor table for a late morning/midday meal … simply watch the world walk by. Informative and restful.
Love these tips. The best one is to have a down day. Even to do washing or sit somewhere and people watch. That was so beneficial in Paris.
I must have my slippers. I travel with 3 to 4 shoes including my slippers.
Me too ❤
I have to have my house shoes (slippers). It’s my end of the day comfort thing and helps me to relax.
Yes! I went to McDonald’s in Moscow and it was very interesting. Yes I want ice! My daughter first happy meal after I adopted her from an orphanage in Siberia. She had no idea how to eat a burger.
Workers are a lot nicer in foreign countries than McDonald’s in the USA 🇺🇸

Thank you for making my day a little better ❤. I love watching your videos. Hope this small donation helps you out.
Would love to know which shoes were all good, and those that were not 😊
thanks
I find it so ironic that your "achilles heal" in packing is shoes!! Get what I did there? I love your videos!! From Kathy, in Kentucky
😂😂😂. Love it!!
Just did a tour with my hubby in Italy- absolutely agree with everything!
Since I’ve had to go to PT I make that my workout. Have to pay, might as well make use of it.
I give my extra tote bags to people who pet sit for me. I always keep one but give the best away to those helping me out.

Thank you so much for sharing about Japan travel along with all the great advice. Japan is top of my travel bucket-list and this was so helpful!

Loved that video. Kudos for your beauty strength and bravery. Keep making content like that.
The McDonald's in Spain served beer 🍺
I just discovered you. Thanks for all these tips.
Really like your hair darker

Are you able to use the tote bag, on the plane, in addition to a carry-on and personal item bag?
Great recommendations!
These are great tips! BTW, you look fabulous in that color!!
Thank you so much 😊
Great tips 👍🏼 thanks for sharing.
Yes to bidets! I put a Japanese bidet in my house. Totally civilized!
Thanks!
Awww.... thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️

I pack this way...pack older items to leave behind, and only replace along the way, if necessary. ❤

I would definitely do an adapter/converter combo and leave hair appliances home.
And if you need coins for the public restrooms
You forgot Lesson #31: Bring your allergy meds
😂. You're right!! I think I was putting it under the packing "just in case" items, because I brought so many meds that I never needed, but not my zyrtec, LOL!
