What a banger! It keeps all the parts from the Hisuian battle theme that I like, and it adds some modernity to it.
Now give me a new Diamond and Pearl game where Adaman gets put into the future and is a gym leader

hot take (get it): i quite enjoyed it not being all fire types because it led to like more creative reasons for a fire type user to have them. except lopunny. that bit is just weird.
Iconic Elite 4 music. Although, I wish Flint’s team in Diamond and Pearl was actually all fire types.
Same, but Volkner's team didn't have all Electric type Pokémon either so its as if they were rivals in that kind of fashion

I like to believe that the trainer sent to the past organized the first Sinnoh Pokemon League.

Looks like Arezu has promotion as a Elite Four Member before the Elite Four Crew even existed.
This is straight fire. The original tracks always lacked somehow and this boosted it into the stratosphere.
The only thing the original lacked was better sounds. It used low-quality sounds due to hardware limitations.
Straight fire, AKA more fire than Sinnoh actually has.
it never felt lacking in a DS hardware and covered by sound effects.
it's adjusted simplexity make the game sound and the music synchronize to the sound background without changing volume of either to avoid drowning
@@ren5689 true, but I always felt it needed just that little bit more to be different from the gym leader theme, yknow? don't get me wrong it's certainly a great track but this piece got that little bit more I'd always wanted just right

The bells were more prominent here and I love it! Really added extra oomph to the battle theme.

This is a great remaster! I kind of felt bad when the Sinnoh elite four in Diamond and Pearl only had the gym leader battle theme, but this makes it sound so much more powerful! Thank you, Zame. Keep up the amazing work!

IIRC, the Elite 4 does have a subtle remix, it's pitched a little lower and the instrumentation is a little more dramatic, but I agree it's subtle. I kind of like it though, maybe that's just nostalgia talking, but it gives the vibe that the gym leaders were the practice for this, like they're borrowing the Elite 4's music, not the other way around.
@@timsmith618 it is one pitch lower. The original composition is in C, the E4 one in B.

I've never been terribly fond of most of the music from the Sinnoh games. They've always felt kinda bland to me (doesn't help they are sandwiched between Hoenn and Unova which are easily my favorite of the Pokemon soundtracks (and games). However your work on them has been awesome. It's doing a really good job of adding just the right amount of oomph, to help them standout a little more.
I guess it's really up to taste, huh?
To me Hoenn is ok at best, once I noticed the overusage of trumpets and how similar all the battle themed sound, I couldn't help but being bothered by it (it definitely got some bangers though like the evil team leader or regi themes). Meanwhile Sinnoh is in my top 2 in terms of music. Many of the route themes are crazy and Cynthia's and the frontier brains battle themes are going all out.
@@solidzack Oh absolutely, there's hardly anything more subjective than music. For me Hoenn is grand and adventurous (and I dig the trumpets). It has my favorite evil team boss theme, Victory Road theme, Elite 4 theme, champion theme and city theme (Sootopolis though Goldenrod has always had a spot close to my heart) , I also generally prefer the Frontier Brain theme from Emerald to the one from Platinum/HGSS . I like Cynthia's but its definitely middle of the pack for me as far a champion themes go (above Diantha, Geeta, Leon, probably roughly even with Kukui and absolutely less than Steven, Lance, Alder, Blue and Iris), I like the lead-in more than her actual battle theme by a significant amount. A lot of the Sinnoh route themes are pretty cool and I'm quite fond of Spear Pillar but the majority of the battle themes fall between average at best and downright forgettable for my tastes. I've put more than a thousand hours into Diamond/Platinum/Brilliant Diamond over the years but man for the life of me I can hardly remember most of the soundtrack from 4 while Gens 1, 2, 3 and 5 live rent free in my brain.
@@swampert564 since you've forgotten about most of gen 4's soundtrack let me remind you of some of the greatest and my favorite route tracks (contrary to the music the routes themselfes are often forgotten).
Route 209 and Route 216 are easily some of the fan favorites. Route 225 is my personal favorite and a hidden gem. As a bonus, Route 47 from HG/SS has an incredible intro (technically Johto, but still Gen 4 and not part of the originals).
@@solidzack Route 225 is a great one ( most of the Resort Area themes are good), 209 slaps too. HGSS has a dope soundtrack in general, always loved Johto's.

I'm still baffled how a multi million dollar company could create such lazy battle themes for BDSP. But ONE person can create this masterpiece which is far better than they ever could've without the profit.
