In case anyones wondering: 6 sticky pistons, 2 redstone torches, 2 redstone repeaters, 8 redstone, and solid blocks (you can choose how many, I’d say a stack to be safe) 😊

Correct, as long as the lower pistons are not connected directly it won't work. In addition you will need a connection to the pushed out location of the lower pistons otherwise it will not close the lower part of the door.

Made probably the worst solution possible, but it works. Add a redstone torch under where the bottom piston ends up. Have a redstone trail connect to the block it’s on connected to another redstone torch to disable it. Link that first torch to the signal from the key so it’s disabled when the doors are meant to be closed, but when the signal turns off and the doors are meant to open the first torch activates disabling the one under the piston. (This would be easier to explain with pictures)

If you break one peice of redstone connecting the other side and put a lever on the other side you can have a working lock from the inside that can only be open from inside

@@Ben-playz put a lever attached to the red stone that is after the repeater that's coming from the key signal it will turn off the redstone signal from the inside and lock the door. It won't open with the outside lever anymore

@@DarkensStuff I like to put the hidden lever spot over some slabs with a hopper underneath. Then I use a button to use a sticky piston that pushes the block with the lever, breaking it while the lever dissapears and you can retrieve it while inside as a key to get back out with another hidden spot. That way if someone breaks in and closes the door behind them, they'll be trapped by the defense I have around the room with no escape from me with a netherite sword. (Bedrock has stronger swords than axes)

I do like the simplicity of this design compared to other more complex designs HOWEVER, for some reason when I tried this, it left a gap in the bottom where the bottom block doesn't fill? Any ideas why this is? Is it coz im on bedrock edition or have I done something wrong??

@@TheLadyWildfire The only solution I can think if is to put ANOTHER stick piston underneath to push dirt up n fill the gap but then that leads to a whole new problem of trying to connect it to the red stone so it all opens n closes at the same time via the one lever. Unfortunately I suck at redstone builds so Instead I just covered the gap with some long grass n placed sum grass blocks around it to try n hide it n make it look more natural.

This still works on bedrock 1.19 if it's not working for you you probably don't have your repeater set to the right tick or you don't have a piece of redstone touching the bottom piston
