    My thoughts are that all this slapping and facial manipulation/stimulation causes temporary swelling of tissues, resulting in a Fuller, firmer face. The key word here being TEMPORARY.

      I use the Silk'n Titan RF, LED, IR machine. I have been doing it for 2 months and it has made very little difference in my face. However, immediately after a treatment, my skin has swollen slightly which gives me a better look. So I can get the same look with my device which costs less than one of those treatments. I think Dr. Linkov makes a great point about age. I am in my early 70's and I am thinking that's why I have had poor results with the Titan. I will say it has lessened the crow's feet and my skin feels firmer, but really doesn't look it. I will keep it up, as my skin continues to age.

      It think it only looks like "slapping" because the tissue swings back and forth. But as she said in the video it was more of a fast gliding motion that did not hurt or feel uncomfortable. If the slapped her so hard, that her face would swell, she would be red afterwards. But she wasn't. To me this belongs in the realm of placebo.

    In theory, there are two things that I believe could have long term results. One is isometric mimic muscle training, which could build up some fullness without causing wrinkles. And the other method is basic soft tissue massage to “iron” out any folds that are already there.
    Mimic muscles are so interesting with how one end inserts directly into the skin. But I think isometric training regime could be achieved if you make facial expressions like smiling or lifting your eyebrows while holding your face firmly with hands, and not letting an expression to happen.

It’s hard enough trying to understand the different specialities and board certifications of most medical practitioners, let alone trying to figure out the weird names and titles that most beauty and med spas give to their treatments...and thus a ‘rejuvenating facial’ could be anything from red light therapy, PRP or some form of AHA peel.

      There isn't such a thing. The superficial and deep aging are unrelated and no matter how much you keep your skin looking good the fat pads will diminish and drop lower, the bone will be resorbed and you'll look old. That being said, for superficial signs the best bang for the buck is tretinoin + botox with some CO2 laser for deeper lines.

    This face gym is silly- massage and pinching don't make you younger. I actually do face exercise- I'm 58, started at 55 when I went sudden rapid raging- (scary, it seemed to happen overnight!) and do literal exercises worked out by someone who has studied the muscles- it based on doing reps while holding areas of the face stil- to not wrinkle and use as a weight. Anyway- turned my down turn mouth up again, filled area under my eyes, lifted brow, lessened wrinkles, firmed jaw- slimmer neck... got rid of jowls, turkey neck...- it has taken 3 years and half an hour 5 times a week hard exercise. Truly- years off, I look good, everyone is impressed- and I had really flopped face wise. I've put back the youthful frame- still have wrinkles but- they are not offensive as they were 3 years agp and have totally got rid of wrinkles around mu mouth- plus plumped that entire area- the muscle there had shrunk a lot, it's now quite large. (it's sphincter- as you know doctor- and working on it has worked) my cheeks are higher, bigger and firmer.. I also use tretinoin- but that doesn't lift the muscles, the exercise has. It really has- the exercises I do have been absolutely tested by the person that invented this method.
    . This 'gym' is bunk. I can't see how any of it works! Massage isn't 'exercise' and pinching doesn't tone muscles! But the right exercise does- by the way- it's really hard to learn- like learning ballet! They have to be done in very specific ways with hands holding very specific parts.

      I think the biggest positive to working out the face muscles is to balance out features due to uneven use of the muscles. For example, I wasn't able to chew on the right side of my mouth for years and my face was lopsided looking because of it. I have an implant and can chew on that side again. Now my face is more proportional. However, I don't see the point in exercising all face muscles.

    I guess the ball is supposed to hit pressure points? Do you think pressure points don't work for sinuses specifically or that they don't work in general?
    Interesting and entertaining video as always. :)

      There is no proof that applying light pressure on the skin surface will improve sinus drainage.

    What do you think of face yoga scientifically?

  • @Dandelion_flight
    @Dandelion_flight Před 2 lety +2

    This face gym is probably like face massage? I would think it is very comfortable and relaxing but I think I would get worried when she tugs and stretches haha. But I do believe in face exercise cos just as exercising the muscles of the body tone the body, exercising the face muscles can tone the face too and I have personally experience success.

    • @drgarylinkov
      @drgarylinkov  Před 2 lety +4

      It can provide tone, and it can enhance wrinkles. Pick your poison I guess.

      @@drgarylinkov Ah yes 😂possibly especially when not done right. I have personally seen my jowling become better and lower face tighter now, that's the area I focus on for face exercises. But I do still use antiwrinkle injections for other areas of my face such as eyes and forehead areas. I think for face exercises, often things have to get worse before it get better. It takes discipline and perseverance. And great for those who are still young and haven't got wrinkles yet. Many of the face yogis have very toned face, especially the Japanese ones and some are in their forties. :)

    This seems gimmicky/ like a marketing ploy. I wonder if the price of 325 is comparable to the price of these treatments individually? The only way I would be the only way I would go to them is if their staff also had the specific training to use the various apparatuses and were qualified to do so (but please don’t slap my face because I bruise like a peach. I have had 6 total micro needling treatments for acne scarring and a small burn scar on my leg (scarring is completely gone and my skin texture is improved). I still do micro needling 2x per year for the anti aging benefits. Is there any specific benefit to finding a med spa that offers RF micro needling?

    I don't see any meaningful difference between before and after to be honest. The coloration is exactly the same. Texture I cannot really tell from the far, but it doesn't seem to be drastically different. And lifting: As Dr. Linkov said, she has slightly different angles and expressions. In the after picture she seems more proud for having completed the program and full of positive expectation, so that mood change alone will slightly change the activity of her facial muscles. Maybe the radiofrequency and vitamins will have an effect on metabolism of the skin for a few hours after the appointment and I'm sure it is relaxing. But to me, it does not seem worth 300$$ at all. It's more of a frivolous thing for people looking for ways to spend their superfluous money. Maybe if you go every other day consistently long-term, it might have an effect after some time. I think the main function of such treatments is psychological. In absence of any hard evidence, people still pay for the suggestion that they are actively doing something against the aging process. It temporarily shifts their mindset to one of control over their fate instead of helplessness. And that provides relief from stress and anxiety around aging and appearance. There honestly was no visible difference to me. You could have swapped the before and after pic.
