Good conversation and analysis. But I think you have missed an important point.
Typically this would have happened behind the closed doors. Though I do not really know LSG owner, I do think that it was a conscious decision by the owner to have this conversation in public in front of all the cameras. Why? There could be a myriad of reasons and factors which we are not aware of. The most simplest explanation could be due to making the team captain publicly accountable for humiliating all LSG fans and owner by playing such a humiliating match which was shameful to watch. Furthermore, the owner may have also wanted to set a precedent in building a touch and strict image and knew this would provide a lot of free marketing. There are a lot of forces which govern behavior in the world of Indian cricket, sometimes they are complex beyond the comprehension of naysay viewers like us. But in all this, my main point is that this behavior by the owner did not happen in vacuum and was a calculated move, though it may have not looked so

The players have enough pressure as is. There is no need for an owner to take this out in public. This is why India has not been winning WCs. Too much pressure on the players.
It's fine to ask questions for a loss but this could have been avoided. They can discuss this inside the room. This is absolutely not acceptable.
Owners have the right to get upset and ask a player to justify his position and the money paid to him... But, not in public domain. A player rarely comes to the owner to ask to be hired, inturn owners choose and bid fiercely for that particular player. So players deserve to be respected..
