If Trump was concerned about the corruption of Biden or in Ukraine, he should NOT have involved himself and his personal lawyer in the investigation. There are PROPER channels that he should have gone through. There are agencies for this.
In May 2019, the Pentagon put out a statement that they found Ukraine has sufficiently cleaned up its corruption and therefore are deserving of the aid which was approved and allocated by Congress. Trump abused his power when he withdrew that aid without informing Congress.
So basically Trump naively thought that his massive brain was proper and sufficient to investigate a rival. That kind of management is going to get Trump into trouble.
Trump believes that he has the personal right to investigate an alleged past crime and by doing so has committed a present crime. It is not the responsibility of the POTUS to seek an investigation on his own. It is not the job of the POTUS to investigate his political opponent. Most importantly, it is not the responsibility of the POTUS to communicate with potential witnesses who could be called to potential trial!!!! It is not the responsibility of the POTUS to do that...leave it to the Law Enforcement agencies. Trump has no idea that he - as POTUS - holds a very unique position in our country. In fact, THERE IS NO OTHER POSITION LIKE THE POTUS. And because of that one simple fact, there are special conditions and LIMITATIONS placed on the POTUS.
You really need to look into Naftogaz, the leading Ukraine gas company and Team Trump. Trump and team wanted to ‘get rid of corruption’ in Ukraine to install their own corruption. A circle of businessmen and Republicans donors touted connections to Giuliani and Trump while trying to install new management on top of Ukraine’s top massive gas company, Naftogaz . Their plan was to then steer lucrative contracts to companies controlled by Trump allies. Giuliani was seeing this gas subject as a side business - use his influence to make a buck for the Trump team. The FBI should be investigating this but the FBI is under BARR’s thumb and we know Barr is part of the Trump Team.

Along with the UK, EU, IMF and the UN...Biden was constantly warning the Ukraine government that the special prosecutor, Shokin was dragging his feet on important investigations in turn for alleged bribes. It had nothing to do with his son, Hunter. Shokin was not investigating Hunter ....in fact, Shokin was not investigation anything. After Shokin did RESIGN, the new prosecutor had then investigated the entire company Hunter Biden worked for, found no criminal activity, and closed their investigation. The person Shokin, Biden bragged about getting rid of was corrupt and the UK, EU and the UN were all happy. People in Ukraine thought removing him was the right thing to do.
Does Trump or his followers understand the history and reputation of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin? He was corrupt to the core. There have been many allegations of bribery, extortion, and basic neglect and lack of diligence. The Ukraine people even marched in the streets several times against this man. He was HATED in Ukraine and when he left his office people celebrated.
