Usually neck and shoulder. Ask guard first if it's okay. They know the horse. Most are happy to be stroked - but some are not!! Don't forget to thank the guard as you leave. Please and thank you go a long way with the British.

The guard is not authorized to speak. The horse and the guard are on duty. This horse is not a pet, it is a military horse.
